Chest beating for Imam Hussain (as), is it forbidden? If you think beating your chest or hitting your back with chain is forbidden because it's harms you , it doesn't harm you ,it's actually good for your health , even if your back start to bleed it has so much health benefits for you , its (like hijama), but we don't do it for that intention we do it to mourn for Imam Hussain (as) . Mourning has different kinds sometimes you only cry because of losing your family members , prophet (s) cried a lot and loudly when his ankle Hamza was killed or his son Abrahim died, sometimes if a woman lose her child she may hit her face as well as cry , like what Aisha did , she hit her face after she poisoned and killed prophet (s) , if hitting yourself is wrong first you have to question Aisha, why she did it for the death of prophet (s) ? Ya'qoob (as) cried so much for Yousof (as) that he last his eyesight, if harming yourself because of mourning for someone is not right , you should question prophet Ya'qoob (as) for doing that before questioning shia . We have ahadith from our infallible imams (as) where they allowed any kind of mourning for Imam Hussain (as) , from crying to hitting your back with chains , and they are all have message in them. It's all for love for Imam Hussain (as) , you have to be Shia to understand, Shia Islam is the religion of love , the more you love them (ahlulbait) the more you hate their enemies. We beat ourselves during Muharam because we want feel little bit of the pain that Imam Hussain (as) and his family and his companions went through , it doesn't harm anyone , we don't disobey Quran and prophet (s) and ahlulbait (as). We follow their teaching. We have ahadith that many of the prophets when they passed the land of Karbala something happened them , they fall or something and they bleed even if it was one drop and when they asked Allah the reason , Gebra'il (as) came and told them what will happen to the grandson of the last messenger (s), and how he and his brothers and sons will be martyred in Karbala ,, and they cried and mourned for Imam Hussain (as) , Allah loves them and wanted them to mourn for Imam and feel little bit of the pain that Imam Hussain (as) went through.

Muta'ah nikah ( temporary marriage) in Quran and forbidden by Umar from sunni sources. فما استمتعتم به منهن فآتوهن أجورهن فريضة ولا جناح عليكم فيما تراضيتم به من بعد الفريضة إن الله كان عليما حكيما Those of them with whom you contract mut’ah, give them their prescribed dowries; and there is no blame on you about what you mutually agree after what is prescribed. 24 ) It is permitted/allowed , doesn't say you must, same like having 4 wives , it's allowed but it's better not to , one is enough because you can't do just among them. It is an option for those who can not get married permanently, everyone can do that nowadays if they can find someone , if they can lower their expectations. Nikah al-Mut’ah, or simply mut’ah, is marriage between two consenting adults for a specified period of time. It is a form of marriage, which is why it is called a nikah. Since its duration is fixed, it is also often called “temporary marriage”. The woman, before the mut’ah, must NOT be in a pending marriage with anyone else. Moreover, both parties must be adult believers; and both must be chaste. In exceptional, emergency cases. whether in mut’ah or in a permanent marriage. In addition, both parties must mutually agree on the dowry and the length of the union. In the case of a woman who has never married, the consent of her father is obligatory for the mut’ah. Also, the man cannot have sex with her (i.e. the woman who has never married) throughout the agreed duration of their nikah. After the expiration of the marriage, the woman enters into a period of ‘iddah in temporary unions that involved intercourse. The children of such a marriage are legitimate, and belong to the husband; and they inherit him. The spouses in mut’ah too may also inherit each other if their marriage contract explicitly provides for it. In my whole life I've never seen a Shia does that , everyone I know are strong enough to control themselves until they get married permanently. If a woman divorced or widowed, not good looking ,old ,have many children, doesn't need sex or money ,,and no one want to marry her permanently and if she need some emotional support from opposite sex sometimes , what options do you have or you can give to her? In Sunni countries they need this kind of marriage more than Shias , you can see the rate of rapes and zina in sunni countries compare to Iran , even in Iran because the regime itself (Khomeini &khamenei) are Sunni in their hearts (they praise Umar) , they don't really allowed this,,, it rarely happens and even if it happens most of those nikah leads to permanent marriage. Those of them with whom you contract mut’ah, give them their prescribed dowries; and there is no blame on you about what you mutually agree after what is prescribed. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.1 4:24 . Ibn al-Muthanna - Muhammad b. Ja’far - Shu’bah - Abu Salamah - Abu Naḍrah: I read this verse to Ibn ‘Abbas: {Those of them with whom you contract mut’ah} [4:24]. He said: “{for a specified period}”. I said, “We do not recite it like that!” He replied, “I swear by Allah, Allah certainly revealed it like that.” He said it three times.5 . The majority of scholars have said that what is meant by this verse is Mutah, which was at the beginning of Islam. Tafsir al-Qurtubi, vol. 5, p. 130 Dur al-Manthor, vol. 2, p. 140 Tafsir al-Razi, vol. 3, p. 200 Fath al-Qadir, vol. 1, p. 499 - Jame al-Bayan, vol. 5, p. 18, researched by Sedqi Jamil al-Attar, published by al-Fakr, Beirut - Tafsir Abihiyan, vol. 3, p. 218- . In the recitation of Abiyy and Ibn Abbas, the verse was "Until the appointed end", they confirm; And Kalam is famous in this matter. We also do not have a dispute in this article that Mutah was halal in the beginning and then it became haram. Ruh al-Ma'ani, vol. 5/p. 5 . There is no doubt that Mutah was permissible at the beginning of Islam. Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, vol. 1, p. 475 . We were fighting alongside the Messenger of God (pbuh) and we did not have a wife, we said: it is better to castrate ourselves, the Prophet (pbuh) stopped us from doing this, then he allowed us to marry women for temporary marriage by paying a dowry. . The clear proof that the Prophet (PBUH) did not forbid Mutah is that Bukhari quotes from Imran bin Hussain who says: (The verse of Mutah was revealed in the Book of God, we also followed it with the Messenger of God. The verse was Never revealed on prohibition of it and the Prophet (PBUH) did not forbid it until it passed away, then a person (Umar)spoke about it according to his own opinion. (Sahih Bukhari: 6/72, commentary section, under verse 196 of Surah Baqarah) . I heard Abanzarah saying that I recited this verse on Ibn Abbas that the women whom you have betrothed, so give them their reward as a duty and obligation. Al-Mustadrak Ali Al-Sahhein, vol. 2, p. 334, number 3192 Jami al-Bayan, vol. 5, p. 19 - Al-Musnaf, Abd al-Razzaq, al-Sanaani, vol. 7, pp. 497 and 498- Sharh al-Nawawi Ali, Sahih Muslim, vol. 9, p. 179- Al-Kashf for Zamakhshri, vol. 1, p. 519- Al-Ahkam al-Qur’an for the Jurisprudence, vol. 2, p. 185- Tafsir al-Qurtubi, vol. 5, p. 130- Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, vol. 1 p. 486 - Elder al-Manthor, vol. 2, p. 139 and 140 ,, etc.. . Umar's prohibition of two halal muta'ah One of the things that indicate the permissibility of Mutah is the words of Omar Ibn al-Khattab who said: Two Mutahs were permissible during the time of the Messenger of God. I forbid those two and punish them. If there was a ruling from the Messenger of Allah(pbuh) Umar would have praised it, but he did not do so. Therefore, the narration is clear that Mutah was lawful at the time of the Messenger of Allah and it was forbidden by Omar(LA). Evidence of this narration in Sunni books: It has been narrated from Omar that he forbade people from Mutah, so he said: Two Mutahs were lawful during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Mutah of women and Hajj Tamattu Al-Mabsut al-Sarkhsi, vol. 4, p. 27 - Asul al-Sarkhsi, vol. 2, p. 6 Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal Vol. 3, p. 325, No. 14519 - Al-Mughni, Vol. 7, p. 136, Dar Al-Fikr, 1405, Al-Ahkam al-Qur'an, for Jurisprudence, Vol. 1, p. 347, Ed. Volume 1, page 244, Dar al-Fakr, Beirut - . I heard from Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari who said: We used to make Mut'ah in the time of the Prophet (s)and Abubake for a handful of dates or flour. Until Umar forbade it in the case of Amr bin Harith. Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, p. 1023, chapter on marriage Al-Jum bin al-Saheehin vol.2 p.399 - Sunan al-Bayhaqi Al-Kabri vol.7 p.237 - Musnad Abi Awana vol.3 p.33 - Author of Abd al-Razzaq vol.7 p.500 - Knowledge of Sunan and Athar vol.5 p.375 - Talmahid Laban Abd al-Barr vol.10 p.112 - Aun al-Maboud vol.6 p.101 Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal vol. 1 p. 52 and vol. 3 p. 325 . The interpretation of Mutah is to say to a woman: I Mutah you for a certain time and with a certain amount of money, and this is invalid in our belief, and Malik bin Anas considers it permissible, and it seems that Ibn Abbas's opinion is also the same. Al-Massut Al-Sarakhsi, vol. 5, p. 152 . If Umar did not forbid Mutah, except the unfortunate/miserable people would not have committed adultery (rather, they would have resorted to Mutah). Tafsir al-Tabari vol. 5 p. 13 Dar al-Fakr Beirut - Alder al-Manthor vol. 2 p. 486 Dar al-Fakr Beirut There so many more evidences like this , but it will be too long so I'll stop here .

Why Shia beat their chest ? Chest beating, matam, latmiya, nadbiya, latum. These are all terms that we hear in relation to those who seek to honour Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, by beating their chest every year in the months of Muharram and Safar. This is of course as an act which can be seen publicly and privately. It is all over KZfaq and people ask us why do we do this?

First and foremost, it is not obligatory for a person to beat their chest. You can have your own relationship with Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, that could be a relationship where you go to the Majalis of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. That could be a relationship where you teach people about Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. It is not Wajib for someone to beat their chest in honour of Sayyid ash-Shuhada. But those who do decide to beat their chest, like myself, the reason that we beat our chest is we remember the holy chest of Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam.

Many people do not realise that the same chest that used to be kissed by his grandfather Rasul Allah, salla Allahu alayhi wa alih, was also a chest that was trampled upon by the hooves of the horses of the soldiers of the Umayyads. Imagine the very flesh and blood of the man who brought the religion of Islam, the man who gave everything back to the Muslims and guided them away from the ignorance that they were in. His grandson, who he used to say about him "Husayn is from me and I am from Husayn", has horses digging their hoofs through his chest on the plains of Karbala. Adding insult to injury, not only had they killed him, but they wanted to humiliate him by mutilating his body. Knowing that his grandad had clearly said and his father that you should not even mutilate the body of a dog that has rabies. There was no humanity on that day.

Therefore for us, when we beat our chest, in many cases we are just tapping our chest. We are just trying to emphasise and show that we will never forget what happened to that holy chest. If a person decides to do this, it is completely up to them. And if they decide just to stand there and listen to the poetry about Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, it is completely up to them. But, we do recognise that those who were members of the Prophetic Household displayed such emotions when sitting in gatherings, where they would remember what happened to Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam.

Some of the ladies of those households would end up beating their chests or even slapping their cheeks when remembering the masa'ib of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. There are those who say, why do you get over emotional? You should not get that emotional. You should not mourn for so long. And I remind them the same way Ya'qub mourned for Yusuf and he knew Yusuf was still alive. How then can you blame us for mourning and remembering the very heart of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family?

Iranian regime is (Sunni) too. If you study shia twelvers, you must separate Iranian government, it's leaders Khomeini and khamenei from Shia , they are Sunni too , they praise Abubakr and Umar and their actions. They pretend to be Shia for many reasons , a few as an example,, gain power and stay in power in Iran , gain the support of Shias in Iran , and then also try to corrupt the Shia beliefs from inside, by creating and bringing different ideologies in to the Shia ,using Shia Hadith and verses of Quran. Bringing tasawof,Greek ideology and try to mix it with Shia beliefs. They've killed any scholars who speak against them exactly what Abubakr and Umar did to their opponents when you investigate history. They have taken out the any books if they think its against them. They've stopped shia scholars to defend Shia beliefs the way it should be defended. They've caused Sunnis to attack Shias and Shia beliefs even more because their stupid policies, they've caused Sunni governments to spend billions to defame and lie about Shia , attacking Shia mosques and Majalis , even know they have nothing to do with Shia . Khomeini was gaining support among Sunnis and he warned that he will take over the Muslim world , that's where the Sunni rulers published 1000s books against shia , and Shia killings got even worse in Pakistan and Iraq and Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. Shia has so many enemies inside and out side , shayatin and the west don't do much about Sunnis, they already last and misled , their focus has been on Shia that's why they created this government in Iran from the beginning. If you've heard the so called shia scholars saying that ahlulbait are raziq and khaliq , making Ahlulbait (as) equal to Allah (SWT), and some of them even believe Allah doesn't exist , prophet and the 12 imams are god ,, that is only one of the things that this Umari government tried to do in Iran with Shias. I have debated them and see how stupid they are, sometimes their level of stupidity is the same as Sunnis, they have clearly no place in Islam , and their kofr is not less than the kofr of Abubakr and Umar and their followers. They don't allow Shias to curse Abubakr and Umar , they've tried to bring the false Shia/Umari unity for their own political interests. How can you unite all goodness and the evil,? how can you unite prophet (s) and his ahlulbait (as) with abu sofyan, abubakr , Umar, uthamn and mo'awiya(LA),? How can you unite Islam with kofr? The worst thing that happened to Shia in the last 1000 years after the martyrdom of our 11th Imam , was this satanic ,Umari revolution in Iran , they've nearly destroyed shia beliefs, they stopped shia scholars to spread the true Islam's message to the world , if Khomeini's revolution was never happened ,, nearly half of the world's population would've been shia by now . And the west was behind it , and planned it all. Everything that this regime does, they're doing it in the name of Islam and Ahlulbait (as) , that's how they defame Shia Islam and they're the reason why many young Shias leaving Shia . They managed to misled some people , and many scholars are too afraid to speak or too brainwashed to figure out that they have nothing to do with Shia twelvers. They are Umari/Sunni like the rest of Umari governments around the world. They are like Abubakr and Umar of this age in every way you look at them , and our imams (as) has predicted this and told us and warned us about them and said that Bani Abbas will come to power twice , the first one was destroyed by Changis khan's army , they too pretend to be Shia at first until they take over power from Bani Umayya, and then they chose donya over their akhira and become the killers and enemies of ahlulbait (as) and revealed that they are Umari too,, the second one is exactly the same, everything. In Shia Islam it is forbidden to establish a state or Islamic government without an infallible Imam being in the head of state , if anyone else come to their place they would be corrupted (power can corrupt fallible person) , they would make mistake, oppress etc.. and it will defame Islam because it is labelled Islam, if it didn't have this Islamic label then whatever they do , it won't harm the name if Islam. You can organise any type of government with any name but not Islamic , it's only belongs to the prophet and his 12 successors, no one else, ,, they are representatives of Allah on earth, only they can rule according to Islam without a mistake and defaming Islam , only they have the knowledge that is needed, Allah only gave it to them. Politics is a dirty thing you can't mix it with Islam. That's why if you look at history shia always avoided getting in to the power and politics, ( religious shias of course) fasiq and corrupted so called Shia who are after donya would do anything , even if they can they use Shia as a tool to get what they want. Like what Khomeini and khamenai and Abubakr and Umar did. Some Shias are so brainwashed that they can't stop loving those two, and if some of them ask why can't Sunnis let go of Abubakr and Umar , I tell them the same reason why you can't let go of Khomeini and khamene'i . Both parties are very good in making excuses for their leaders , lie and making them look good , try to hide their evil actions, making stuff up about them to prove they were good people , making up things that they never did or said to make them look good , etc.. May Allah guide all those who seek for guidance and truth.

Is Calling Upon the Prophet and Imams for Help permitted in Islam? Calling upon the Prophet and the imams (also referred to as istighathat al-nabi wal-a’immah) is allegorical, not literal. The Noble Qur’an teaches people to worship and seek help from Allah (“iyyaka na‘budu wa iyyaka nasta‘in”); 28:15. however, the allegorical seeking of help is permitted in the Noble Qur’an. For example, in the story of Prophet Musa (Moses), “And he found there two men fighting-one from his party (Shi‘a), and the other from his foes. The man of his own party asked him (istighathahu) for help against his foe, so Musa struck him with his fist and killed him. Many of the narrators of hadith narrate a prayer (du΄a) from the Prophet which begins, “O my Lord! I turn to you by your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy (Allahumma, inni atawajjahu ilayka bi nabiyyika nabi al-rahma…).” Then it says, “O Muhammad! I turn to Allah by you to solve my difficulties. Ibn Majah; Tirmidhi, al-Nisa’i; “al-Husn al-Hasin” Ibn al-Juzri It is also narrated that the feet of ‘Abdullah ibn Umar al-Khattab became disabled and he could no longer walk. After being told to call upon the closest people to his heart, he said, “Wa Muhammada!” His feet became cured and worked properly again. al-Samhudi, Shifa’ al-Asqam The Noble Qur’an teaches us to “seek help through patience and prayer (sabr and salat) 2:45 Sabr (according to commentators of the Qur’an, in this context refers to fasting) and salat (prayers) are means which ultimately lead one to Allah. Thus calling upon the Prophet or Imam ‘Ali is allegorical since all agree that Allah is the main source of support, aid, and assistance and they are just a means to Him. Some Muslims associate calling upon the Prophet or the imams as shirk (heresy). They argue that a person should not ask any person for help. However, we see that if a person is faced with a problem in life, often, this person will logically and naturally call upon a nearby person for help. If a person was about to drown and he called out for help, then would his seeking help from someone other than Allah make him a mushrik (associating one with Allah)? By the same reasoning, calling upon the Prophet or the imams is not shirk. The argument that they cannot be called upon because they are dead is also invalid, because the Qur’an falsifies the notion of martyrs being classified as dead, “Think not of those who are killed in the way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive with their Lord, and they have provision. 3:169 “And say not of those who are killed in the way of Allah, ‘They are dead.’ Nay, they are living, but you perceive it not. (2:154) If an ordinary Muslim was martyred (for the cause of Allah) is considered to be alive, then how can the Prophet and his family, who were not only martyrs, but whose rank also surpassed that of all other human beings, be considered dead? Calling upon the Prophet and his family does not negate the fact that Allah is the source of help and rescue in this universe. However, because these people are the closest to Him, and they enjoy a special status with Him, then calling upon them means calling upon Allah for the sake of those whom He loves. Death is a Transition
These Guides have taught us that death is not the end of life. In the Qur'anic language, Death is not 'anti-life'. It is not 'nothing'. Like 'Life', 'Death' is a 'Created thing'. Allah says in the Qur'an: “Blessed be He………..Who has created death and life, so that He might test you which of you is most righteous in action”. (Qur'an, 67:1-2)

And the Creator of Death and Life has decreed that a Soul, once created, will never perish. It will live for ever. The Holy Prophet (S) has said: “You have not been created for extinction, but for eternal existence”.1

According to Islamic teachings, death is a continuation of life, but in another place. Once we accept this Truth, it stands to reason that those who would be obedient to Allah, leading virtuous life, would welcome the chance of leaving this transitory world, to live in eternal bliss in the sight of Allah. For such persons, death is a welcome and pleasant stage through which they gladly pass to reach their desired goal.

Does prophet and his 12 successors have unseen/ghayb knowledge? As Shia claim. (PART5) al-Dhakha’ir al-Uqba, by Muhibbuddin al-Tabari, p83 The conclusion is that "he who possesses the Knowledge of the Book”in verse 13:43 refers to Imam ‘Ali (as) and no other companions. And if "a part of Knowledge of the Book", provided a supernatural power for Asaf, then it is clear that those who have the whole knowledge of the Book, have more ability of this type by leave of Allah. Also according to the above tradition written in Sihah Sittah, in which the Prophet (S) said "I am the City of Knowledge, and ‘Ali is its Gate. So whoever intends to enter the City and the Wisdom, he should enter from its Gate", it is clear that the only source of knowledge after Prophet Muhammad (S) was Imam ‘Ali (as), and those who seek other sources do not gain the genuine Sunnah of the Prophet because nobody can enter this City from a direction other than its door. Concluding Remarks It should be emphasized that The Twelver Shi’a Scholars believe that neither the Prophet nor the Imams possess the Knowledge of Ghayb with the special meaning used in Qur’an, since this type of knowledge is something which belongs to Allah only. However, as Qur’an mentions "news of Ghayb”have been transmitted to the Prophet Muhammad, and from that channel, it has been transmitted to the Imams of Ahlul-Bayt. What they fully possess is the Knowledge of the Book described above. It should also be noted that the prophets and Imams share with the rest of humanity the means for obtaining knowledge which Allah has given: the senses, the intellect, etc. They also possess special powers and means which other people do not have. In carrying out the commands of Allah in which people have also responsibility, and likewise in ordinary behavior, the prophets and Imams only make use of the first way of knowing, that is the commonly available means. The second means (extraordinary means) is only used by them in duties and works which are connected with their position of prophethood and Imamat. Thus in matters such as knowing the beginning of the month, passing judgment, finding out if something is unclean or pure, etc., they make use of ordinary means such as sighting of the moon, and so forth, which anyone else employs. The extraordinary means of knowledge can not be the basis for their action, and what they volitionally do must be determined by the means available to everyone. Thus, such knowledge has spiritual aspect as being the Representative of Allah (Khalifatullah), and the reason for it must be sought on this level, and it is not for the purpose of influencing and controlling the events on the level of ordinary understanding. And Allah knows best. Side Comments A contributor mentioned that there exists another version of the tradition of "The City of Knowledge”where the Prophet states: "I am the city of knowledge and ‘Ali is its gate, and Abu Bakr is its foundation, Umar its walls and Uthman its roof." To answer this, I would like to first mention this weak tradition is not reported in any of the six sound collections of the Sunnis, where as the correct version of the tradition provided in our article is, in fact, in the Sihah Sittah of the Sunnis. Adding the words to the genuine traditions of the Prophet, was another trick which the falsifiers of tradition narrators resorted to during the time of the Umayad. When they found that a tradition was so widespread amongst the people that there was no way to deny or refute it, they decided to add a paragraph or words, or to change some phrases so as to dampen the impact of the tradition or to make it lose its intended meaning. This trick is not hidden to the objective researchers who refute these additions which, most of the time, indicate the lack of intelligence of the falsifiers and their lack of wisdom in contrast to the light of the Prophetic traditions. Even some well known Sunni scholars were aware of such forgeries and have rated many of such traditions as forged or weak due to the discrepancy in the Isnad as well as the contents. For instance, in the above forged tradition, we can observe the saying "Abu Bakr is it’s foundation”means the knowledge of the Prophet (S) is derived from the knowledge of Abu Bakr and this is disbelief (Kufr). Likewise, the statement "Umar is its walls”means Umar prevents people from entering the city, i.e., prevents them from getting to the knowledge. Also the saying "Uthman is its roof”is undoubtedly absurd since there is no city which has a roof!!! All praise is due to the Lord of the Worlds, who has given us intelligence through which we will be able to differentiate between the truth and falsehood, and He has made clear to us the Right Path and then tests us by many things so that they can bear witness on the day of judgment.

Does prophet and his 12 successors have unseen/ghayb knowledge? As Shia claim. (PART3) However, the choice words in the above verse shows that "he who possesses the Knowledge of the Book”referred specifically in the above verse, is a person (or persons) other than Allah and His Prophet (S). It refers to Imam ‘Ali (as) and the Imams after him (see below for details). Also notice that in the above verse, Allah does NOT say "a part of the knowledge of the Book”while Allah used the phrase "a part of”for the case of minister of Solomon. Some Sunnis have mentioned that the above verse refers to Abdullah Ibn Sallam, the Jewish Rabbi who converted to Islam. some other Sunnis said that it refers to all scholars of the Jews and the Christians who found the attributes of the incoming Prophet in their ancient scriptures. The above interpretation does not seem to be correct. "The knowledge of the Book”as Qur’an mentions in one more place, is not as simple as recognition of the attributes of the incoming Prophet in the scripture. "The knowledge of the Book”includes the knowledge of governing rules in the Universe. As Qur’an stated, Asaf had only a very small part of "the Knowledge of the Book", and was able to do that extraordinary thing. Thus this type of power has no connection with just knowing the name of an incoming prophet from a book. Furthermore, if the Sunni interpretation is correct, then it means whenever Muslims have a question, they should refer to Christians and Jews, because they have the whole knowledge of the Book while Muslims do not! Some may argue that if the above verse is referring to Imam ‘Ali and the rest of the twelve Imams, then what sort of evidence will this be for the unbelievers who would not accept the words of Muslims by saying the above verse to them? The answer is that the verse starts with the phrase: "And the Kuffar (unbelievers) say: You are not a messenger. Say: Sufficient as witness is...”As such, the verse is about Kuffar (unbelievers). They don’t believe in Allah either. Therefore, the same question may rise again: If the Kuffar do not believe in Allah, then what sort of evidence will be for them to say "Allah is the witness"? The above verse is, in fact, just a threat by the Prophet (S) to unbelievers, that that will be accounted on the day of judgment for their blasphemy, and he (the Prophet) has enough two witness for that: One is, Allah, the Creator, and the other one is Imam ‘Ali, the Prince of Believers. In general, it refers to all the twelve Imams. But at that time of the Prophet he was just Imam ‘Ali (as). Witness to the fact that "he who possesses the Knowledge of the Book”in verse 13:43 refers to Imam ‘Ali (as) and no other companions of the Prophet, is the numerous traditions reported by both Shi’a and Sunni. It is confirmed in the authentic Sunni books that Imam ‘Ali was the MOST knowledgeable man in the Muslim community after the Prophet (S). Those who testified this fact include: The Prophet (S), Imam ‘Ali himself, Abu Bakr, Umar, Aisha, and many other companions. The Holy Prophet (S) informed his followers of the very existence of a man who was the treasurer of Knowledge of the Holy Prophet (S), and he had declared to them that if they want to reach the Knowledge of the Holy Prophet, they should take that Knowledge from the treasurer: The Messenger of Allah (S) said: "I am the City of Knowledge, and ‘Ali is its Gate. So whoever intends to enter the City and the Wisdom, he should enter from its Gate." إنا مدينة العِلْم و عليٌ بابها، فَمَنْ أرادَ المدينة و الحكمة فليأتِها من بابها. Sunni references: 1. Hafidh Salah al-Din al-Ulai, after copying the weakening arguments by al-Dhahabi, has remarked "There are in this only mean attempts to oppose for the sake of opposition, and not a single valid argument." 31. Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Siddeeq al-Hasani al-Maghribi, from Cairo, has compiled a magnificent book named "Fat’h al-Mulk al-’Ali bi Sihah Hadith-e-Bab-e-Madinat al-Ilm”to prove the genuinness of the very above tradition. This book was printed in the year 1354 AH in Matba’ al-Islamiyyah, Egypt. 32. Also reported by Ibn Adi on the authority of Ibn Umar, and by al-Bazzar on the authority of Jabir Ibn Abdillah al-Ansari ... and more ... In the Arabic form of this Hadith, the word "The Knowledge”comes as "al-Ilm”which has the article "al”which makes the word universal. This means that in the city of knowledge of the Prophet (S), all kind of the knowledge (which could possibly be attained by human being) existed. Remark: The above tradition also supports the infallibility of Imam ‘Ali (beside what is conveyed by Qur’an 33:33 on the issue of infallibility of Ahlul-Bayt). The reason behind the non-intentional mistakes is lack of knowledge, i.e., not to know what is right to do at the time. Therefore, if Imam ‘Ali (as) contained all the knowledge of the Prophet (S), it reasons that if the Prophet was infallible, so is Imam ‘Ali (as). In addition to that, al-Tirmidhi also recorded that:

Does prophet and his 12 successors have unseen/ghayb knowledge? As Shia twelvers claim. (PART2) verses: He said: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.”(Qur’an 20:52) Now, let us look at the following verse: "He possesses the Ghayb and He does not discloses His Ghayb to anyone except to such a Messenger as He is well-pleased with.”(Qur’an 72:26-27). From the above verse, it is evident that although Allah alone possesses the withheld knowledge (Ghayb), but He may disclose a news from it to Prophet Muhammad (S). On the other hand, Prophet Muhammad transferred whatever he was reached from the news of "Ghayb”to those who qualified, as the following verse testifies: "And he (Muhammad) is not niggardly the Knowledge of the Unseen.”(Qur’an 81:24). وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ﴿٢٤﴾ Therefore, if the news of Ghayb reached to the Prophet Muhammad (and consequently the Imams of Ahlul-Bayt), it is only because it was given to him by Allah. It is for this reason that according to Qur’an the messengers are all instructed to tell people that they do not possess the Knowledge of Ghayb of their own, for it is reached to them by Allah only as He wishes. In Usul a-Kafi, it is narrated that: Ammar al-Sabati said: I asked Abu Abdillah (Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq) concerning if Imam knows al-Ghayb (Unseen). He replied: "No, but when he wishes to know something, Allah causes him to know that.”(Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al- Hujjah, Tradition #666) Shaikh al-Mufeed (d. 413/1022) who was one the outstanding Shi’a scholars said: “... Saying that they (Prophet and Imams) possess the knowledge of Ghayb should be refuted as being something clearly incorrect, because the attribute of this can only be for someone who possesses the knowledge of (all) things within himself, not the knowledge obtained from another. And this can only be for Allah, to whom belong Might and Majesty. All Imamis agree on this except those who deviated from them and are called Mufawwidah and extremists (al-Ghulat).”(Awa’il al- Maqalaat, p38). in fact, neither the prophets nor Imams ever claimed that they have all the knowledge within themselves. Obviously they did not know those of information which was "hidden”to them. However, this does not mean that whatever they knew is "visible”to us as well. The information which is considered to be "hidden”to us may be "visible”to them. Thus the visibility of knowledge is relative to the person. The Knowledge Of The Book Qur’an mentions the second type of knowledge, explained above, which has been released to the prophets and the Imams. This is the knowledge of what has been foreordained and the knowledge of the rules governing the universe. This type of knowledge is known as "the knowledge of the Book". Qur’an testifies that some prophets and non-prophets had this type of knowledge by which they could perform many extraordinary things with the permission of Allah. We read in Qur’an that: So We did show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth that he might (with understanding) have certitude. (Qur’an 6:75) Also earlier, we quoted a verse of Qur’an related to Prophet Jesus who said: "I will also INFORM you of what things you eat and what you treasure up in your houses.”(Qur’an 3:49; see also 5:110). References can also be made in this respect to the power of the interpretation of the tales given to Prophet Joseph (as) (see Qur’an 12:6,15,21,37), to the language of the birds given to Prophet David (as) and Solomon (Sulayman) (as) (see Qur’an 21:79). We also read: We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they both said: "Praise be to Allah Who has favored us above many of His servants who believe!”And Solomon was David’s heir. He said: "O People! we have been taught the speech of Birds and we have been given (some knowledge) from all things. This is indeed manifest favor.”(Qur’an 27:15-16) Having "the Knowledge of the Book", one can do many extraordinary things with the permission of Allah. For example Qur’an mentions that at the time of Prophet Solomon (Sulayman), a person in the name of Asaf, who was the Minister of Solomon and had only a very small part of "the Knowledge of the Book", was able to bring the throne of Queen Bilqis from another place of the world within the twinkling of an eye: "The One with whom was just a part of the Knowledge of the Book said: ‘I shall bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!’ Then when (Solomon) saw (the throne) set in his presence, he said: ‘This is by the grace of my Lord! to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful!’“(Qur’an 27:40). The source of this Divine Knowledge is God. He gave part of it to Prophet Adam (2:31), Jesus (5:110/113)... and some people who were not prophets like Taloot (2:247), and Asaf (see the above verse). According to Qur’an, "The knowledge of the Book”is for those who are immersed in Knowledge (3:7, 4:162), who are given authority by Allah (4:83), who are assigned by Allah as referee (16:43, 21:7), who are the stars of Guidance (6:97). According to some traditions, the Knowledge of The Book is a part of the Greatest Name of Allah. The Greatest Name of Allah consists of seventy three units. These are not letters, but they are rather the knowledge of governing the universe. In one of the traditions in Usul al-Kafi, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) explained this issue as well as the mystery of the action of Asaf, the Minister of Solomon: Abu Ja’far (as) said: "Verily, the Greatest Name of Allah consists of seventy three units (Harf). Asaf possessed only one unit of it, and when he spoke it (i.e., used it) the ground between him and the throne of Bilqis (the Queen of Sheba/Saba) folded/subsided so that he could take the throne with his hands, and then the ground opened out and returned to what it was originally in less than the twinkling of an eye. We (Ahlul-Bayt) have seventy two units of the Greatest Name, and one unit remained with Allah which is kept exclusively in His knowledge of Unseen (Ilm al-Ghayb); and there is no efficacy or power except by Allah, the High, the Great.”(Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al-Hujjah, Tradition #613) As stated in Verse 27:40 of Qur’an, the one who possessed a small part of "the Knowledge of the Book", was able to bring the throne of King Bilqis from another place of the world within the twinkling of an eye. So those who have the whole "Knowledge of the Book”should be able to do more! The whole knowledge of the Book was with Prophet Muhammad and his twelve successors. Allah, Exalted, said in Qur’an: "(O’ Prophet) say: Enough for witness between me and you is Allah and he who possesses the Knowledge of the Book.”(Qur’an 13:43) قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّـهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِ From the verse, it is clear that in the phrase "he who possesses the Knowledge of the Book", Qur’an is specifically referring to a person other than Allah and Prophet Muhammad. Of course, the source of this

Does prophet and his 12 successors (pbuta)have unseen/ghaib knowledge? As Shia claim. (PART1) بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ This article aims at clarifying two concepts namely "Ilm al-Ghayb”(the Knowledge of the Unseen) and "Ilm al-Kitab”(the knowledge of the Book) which both seem to be confusing in many people’s mind. The article provides references to Qur’an and both Shi’ite and Sunnite collections of traditions. The Knowledge Of The Unseen The original meaning of "Ghayb”in Arabic is "that which has been concealed", and it is with this meaning which has appeared in the Holy Qur’an (4:34, 12:52, etc.) It signifies a meaning opposite to "Hadhir”which means "present to the senses", and thus denotes with things to the external world (i.e., Ma’lumat; known things). This opposition of Ghayb/Hadhir (unseen/present) should not be confused with the opposition of Ilm/Jahl (knowledge/ignorance) in which the latter pair is concerned with the internal act of knowing. So it may happen that something is "Ghayb”in the dimension of time which does not exist now but it will be or it was; or in the dimension of place that is the knowledge of something which is located elsewhere but not here. Thus we can divide own our knowledge into two parts: A) The knowledge of something which is present to us right here and right now (Ilm bil Hadhir), B)The knowledge of something which we know but is not here now (Ilm bil Ghayb/Gha’ib; the knowledge of what is concealed from the senses). It should be noted however that the above division is according to general/original linguistic meaning of the term. The knowledge of Ghayb itself can be divided in two kinds: 1)The knowledge that comes to us through our senses, but indirectly. Examples are our knowledge of history which comes either through narration from one person to another, by speech or in writing or through examining the relics and remainings of the past, and then deducing certain historical facts from them. 2)The type of the knowledge of Ghayb which does not come through our senses. It should be observed that the first type can be by means of ordinary senses (the five normal senses) or may be by a special sense which has been given to a person like telepathic sense (if there is such a thing). It is, however, only to the second type (the non-sensory one), that the technical/special meaning of "The Knowledge of Ghayb/Gha’ib”is denoted. The historical events mentioned in Qur’an has been named by Qur’an as "the tidings/news of Ghayb”(11:49, 12:102, 25:4-6) which are all the second kind which did not come via senses. The Holy Qur’an is quite specific about the fact that Allah alone has the knowledge of Ghayb (what is concealed) in the heavens and the earth. Qur’an tells us that there are keys to the Ghayb which are with Allah: "With Him are the Keys of the Ghayb; non knows them but He.”(Qur’an 6:59) and that no one knows anything of Allah’s knowledge except if He will. Qur’an tells about the knowledge and the intercession of the Prophet Muhammad and his twelve successors that: "Who can intercede with Him except the cases He permits? He knows what is in front of them (the Prophet and the Imams) and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He will.”(Qur’an 2:255) This shows that the core/keys of the Knowledge of Ghayb is with Allah, but He may release "a news of Ghayb”to the one He wills. According to the Qur’an, things which are special property of Allah, such as creation, giving life, curing without medicine, the knowledge of what has happened and what will happen, may either be momentarily given by Him at the moment they are required, or else the power and ability to do them may be given so that they can be used when necessary, by the permission of Allah. An example of the latter comes in the story of Prophet Jesus (as) who, according to Qur’an, said: "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; I will create for you out of clay a figure of a bird, then I will breath into it, and it will be a bird by leave of Allah; I will also heal the blind and the leper, and bring to life the dead, by leave of Allah. I will also inform you of what things you eat and what you treasure up in your houses. Surely, in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”(Qur’an 3:49; see also 5:110) To give a simple example, consider a person who looks at a monitor which displays some part of a database located in the hard drive of a computer. The user can retrieve any part of this database and see it on the monitor. But the whole database is always in the computer and not in the user’s head. Furthermore, the user is unaware of any real-time modifications that may happen to this data base and the formulas behind the modifications. Allah let the Prophet and Imams know whatever they needed to know. However, they don’t have the whole knowledge within themselves. But Allah would give them whatever they needed any time. It is important to understand that what the prophets or the Imams wish to know is exactly what Allah wished to release to them. They do not wish to know anything that Allah do not want to release to them (among which is the keys to the knowledge of unseen). Based on Qur’an and the transmitted traditions by Ahlul-Bayt, Allah has two types of knowledge: 1-The knowledge that is withheld (i.e., Ghayb). As I mentioned Nobody has control over this type of knowledge except Allah. Allah may inform "a news from Ghayb”to some of His servants, but this is different than "possessing Ghayb". In fact, there is a whole chapter in Usul al-Kafi which discusses this type of knowledge where it is clearly mentioned that neither the Imams nor the prophets possess the knowledge Ghayb. "The Will (Mashiyyah) of Allah operates on this knowledge. If He wishes He decrees it. And If He wishes He modifies it and does not carry it out.”(See Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al-Hujjah, Tradition #664) 2-The knowledge that is granted. "This is the knowledge that Allah fore- ordained (Qadar, Taqdeer), He decrees it, and carries it out (with no modification). And this is the knowledge that has 1been passed down to the Prophet Muhammad, and then to the Imams.”(See Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al-Hujjah, Tradition #664) If the Prophet or Imams possessed any knowledge about the future, it is this second type of knowledge (the knowledge of what has been foreordained), and NOT the first type of knowledge (the Knowledge of the Unseen). For the First type of knowledge, Qur’an states: "Allah removes what He wills, and confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Essence of the Book.”(Qur’an 13:39). يَمْحُو اللَّـهُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِندَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ The Essence of the Book is the withheld knowledge (Ghayb) which is only possessed by Allah, and nobody possesses this database but Him. The term Shi'a in Qur'an and hadith(5) Side Comments A Sunni brother wrote: Sunni means the one who follows the traditions (Sunnah) of the Prophet, and this is supported by the following verse of Qur’an: Certainly you have in the Apostle of Allah an excellent exemplar (beautiful pattern of conduct) for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much. (Qur’an 33:21) لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّـهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّـهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَاللَّـهَ كَثِيرًا ﴿الأحزاب: ٢١﴾ My comment was as follows: 1)In the above verse neither the word "Sunnah”nor any of its derivative has been used. As I mentioned earlier, Allah has used the terminology of "Muslim”in its exact form, letter by letter, in the verse 22:78. Also Allah used the word "Shi’a”again in exact form in verse 37:83 for the Prophet Abraham. However, Allah never used the words such as "Sunni”or as "Ahlussunnah”for the followers of the Prophet (S). 2)If you say we do not find such exact terminology, but we understand that the Prophet is our pattern, then one may say that Qur’an testifies that Prophet Abraham (as) was a pattern for us as well: "Indeed, there is for you an excellent exemplar (beautiful pattern of conduct) in Abraham...”(Qur’an 60:4) قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ Notice that in the above verse, the phrase which has been used for Prophet Abraham (as) is exactly the same as that of the previous quoted verse used for Prophet Muhammad (S). That is true for the following verse as well: Certainly there is for you in them (Abraham and his followers) an excellent exemplar (beautiful pattern of conduct) for him who fears Allah and the last day; and whoever turns back, then surely Allah is the Self-sufficient, the Praised. (Qur’an 60:6) لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيهِمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّـهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّـهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ ﴿الممتحنة: ٦﴾ Now please tell us if we can be called a Sunni because we follow Abraham’s traditions? Certainly Prophet Muhammad followed the tradition of Prophet Abraham, yet Muhammad (S) was never called Sunni, as that result. Similarly, Prophet Abraham followed the traditions of Prophet Noah, but he was never called a Sunni. Qur’an mentioned that he was a Shi’a of Noah. 3) The word "Sunnah”has used in Qur’an to refer to the custom of God and the way Allah conducts the affairs and the rules governing the universe (Sunnatullah). But here we are discussing the word Sunnah referred to the Prophet (S), and not the rules governing the universe. As such we are looking for the term such as "Sunnatu Rasoolillah". 4) A word XXXX can be used in two ways: XXXXX by definition or XXXXX by label All Muslims are Sunni by definition, but only a group of people, which are famous to this name, are Sunni by label. How they got such label needs to be investigated though. Also, all Muslims are "obedient”by definition, but there is no special group among Muslims who are called "obedient". This shows that having a certain characteristic by definition does not force us to specify such characteristic in our label. In fact, in most cases (not all cases) the label is just a stereotype and does not reflect the real attributes of the holder of such label. Sometime the label is used to allure people to specific version of something which is found in various versions, each of which is claimed to be genuine one, by different groups. As such, it wouldn’t be an intelligent practice, in general, to identify the genuineness of something with its label. Surely, the followers of the Prophet are supposed to follow his Sunnah by definition. But were they called Sunni when Prophet Muhammad was alive? or even few years after his demise? In other words, the question to be answered is: When did the title "Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah”come into existence in the history of Islam for a specific group of Muslims?

The term Shi'a in Qur'an and Hadith (4) Then we can conclude that Imam ‘Ali is “the Qur’an verbatim “. That is, Imam ‘Ali is the Strong Rope of Allah also, because they (Qur’an and ‘Ali) are non-separable. In fact, there are a huge number of traditions in authentic Sunni sources where Prophet said Qur’an and Ahlul-Bayt are inseparable and if Muslims want to remain in the right path, they should stick to both of them. (Please refer to the article titled: Qur’an and Ahlul-Bayt). Therefore, one can conclude that those who separated from Ahlul-Bayt are the sectarian who divided into sects and were denounced by Allah and His prophet due to their divergence. In fact, the opinion of majority is not a good criteria to distinguish the false from the truth. If you look at the Qur’an, you will see that Qur’an severely denounces the majority of by frequently saying that "the majority do not understand", "the majority do not use their logic", "the majority follow their whims"... In another verse, Allah said: "You are the best nation (Ummah) that has been raised up for the (benefit of) people. You enjoin the good and forbid the evil...”(Qur’an 3:110). The best nation is also the Ahlul-Bayt. Let us remember that according to Qur’an, "nation”does not mean the whole people. This is even clear from the above verse that such Ummah (nation) are raised FOR benefiting the people. Thus Ummah can be only a subset of people and not the whole people. In fact one person can be a nation. Sometimes the act of a single person is worthier than the deeds of the whole nation. This was the case for Prophet Muhammad, Imam ‘Ali, as well as the case for Prophet Abraham, peace be upon them all. Qur’an states that Abraham (as) was a nation (Ummah), meaning that his deeds was more valuable than all other people. Allah stated: "Lo! Abraham was a nation (Ummah) who was obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters”(Qur’an 16:120) Thus, one single individual can be a nation in the language of Qur’an. As for the Verse 3:100, it is interesting to note that some Sunni scholars have narrated from Abu Ja’far (Imam Baqir (as)) that: Abu Ja’far (as) said about the verse ‘You are the best nation raised up for the (benefit of) people...(3:110)’: "The Members of the House of the Prophet." Sunni references: • Ibn Abi Hatam, as mentioned in: • al-Durr al-Manthoor, by Jalaluddin al-Suyuti under commentary of verse 3:110 of holy Qur’an. Also Allah mentioned in Qur’an: "O’ you who believe! Fear Allah and be with the truthful”(Qur’an 9:119) According to some Sunni Commentaries, "the truthful”means Imam ‘Ali (as): Sunni reference: • Tafsir al-Durr al-Manthoor, by al-Hafidh Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, two reports: one from Ibn Mardawayh by Ibn Abbas and the second from Ibn Asakir by Abi Ja’far (as). This means that people should have feared Allah and should not have separated from Imam ‘Ali (as) after the demise of Prophet (S). This unfortunately did not happen at large, and therefore, unfortunate divisions followed it. With respect to the world al-Siddeeq -- "The Truthful", there are many Sunni narrations in which the Messenger of Allah said: The Truthful are three: Hazqeel (who was) the believer of the family of Pharaoh (see Qur’an 40:28), and Habeeb al-Najjar (who was) the believer of the family of Yaasin (see Qur’an 36:20), and ‘Ali Ibn Abi Talib who is the most virtuous one among them (see Qur’an 9:119)." Sunni references: • Abu Nu’aym and Ibn Asakir, on the authority of Abu Layla • Ibn al-Najjar, on the authority of Ibn Abbas • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar, Ch. 9, section 2, pp 192-193 In conclusion, we have shown in this article that the term Shi’a has been used in Qur’an for the followers of the great servants of Allah, and in the traditions of the Prophet for the followers of Imam ‘Ali (as). One who follows such divinely appointed Guide is safe from the disputes in the religion and has grasped the Strong Rope of Allah, and has been given the glad tiding of Paradise.

The term Shi'a in Qur'an and Hadith (3) And this is how Sunni scholars cope with the prophetic traditions in favor of "Shi’a of ‘Ali"! They say that they are the real Shi’a! Let us look at one more tradition in this regard: The Messenger of Allah said to ‘Ali: "The first four individuals who will enter the Paradise are me, you, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn, and our progeny will be behind us, and our wives will be behind our progeny, and our Shi’a will be on our right side and in our company." Sunni references: • al-Manaqib, by Ahmad • al-Tabarani, as quoted in: • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar Haythami , Ch. 11, section 1, p246 From the above pieces of evidence, the word "Shi’a”is used by Allah in Qur’an for His prophets as well as their followers. Further, His blessed Prophet, Muhammad (S) has repeatedly used this word for the followers of Imam ‘Ali (as). The word Shi’a is used here in its special meaning, and moreover, it is not in plural form (Parties), rather the above verses and traditions are referring to a special party, i.e., one single party. If Shi’a meant sectarian, neither Allah would use it for His high rank prophets nor Prophet Muhammad (S) would have praised them. However there are some verses in Qur’an which uses the plural form of Shi’a that is "Shi-ya’a”which means "Parties/groups". This is a general meaning of this term, and not the special meaning in singular form which has been given in previous examples. Of course, only one single party is accepted by Allah and the rest are severely denounced because they have separated from that unique party. So it is clear why Allah denounced "Groups/Parties/sects”(plural form) who separated from that unique group in some verses of Qur’an. There can’t be two righteous groups (with conflicting ideas) at the same time, because between the two leaders one is surely better and more qualified, and thus the claims and the motives of the other leader goes under question. However I did not locate the exact term of "Ahlussunnah wal-Jama’ah", nor did I find "al-Wahhabiyyah", "al-Salafiyyah”anywhere in the Holy Qur’an or the traditions of the Prophet. I agree that we should follow the Sunnah of Prophet, but I would like to discover the origin of the exact term here. We Shi’a are proud to follow the Sunnah of Prophet. However, the question is that which Sunnah is genuine and which one is not. The word "Sunnah”by itself does not serve the purpose of knowledge. All Muslims irrespective to their persuasions claim that they follow the Sunnah of Prophet (S). Please refer to the article titled "Qur’an and Ahlul-Bayt”for a detailed discussion in this regard. It should be emphasized that the Messenger of Allah never wished to divide Muslims into groups. Prophet ordered all people to follow Imam ‘Ali (as) as his agent during his life time, and as his Caliph after him. Prophet wished everybody does that. But unfortunately those who heeded him were few and were known as "Shi’a of ‘Ali”who were subject to all sort of discrimination and prosecution, and suffered from day one of the demise of the Mercy to Mankind, Muhammad (S). If every one (or say the majority Muslims) had obeyed what prophet wished, then there wouldn’t exist any group or school within Islam. Allah said in Qur’an: "Hold fast to the Rope of Allah, all of you together and do not separate”(Qur’an 3:103)" The Rope of Allah which we should not separate from, are the Ahlul-Bayt. In fact, some Sunni scholars narrated from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as) saying: "We are the Rope of Allah about whom Allah has said: ‘Hold fast to the Rope of Allah, all of you together and do not diverge (3:103)’" Sunni references: • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar Haythami , Ch. 11, section 1, p233 • Tafsir al-Kabir, by al-Tha’labi, under commentary of verse 3:103 Thus, if Allah denounces the sectarianism, He denounces those who separated from His Rope, and not those who hold fast to it! Also some said the Rope of Allah is Qur’an. This is also true. But by looking at the following tradition narrated by Umm Salama who said: The Messenger of Allah said: "‘Ali is with Qur’an, and Qur’an is with ‘Ali. They shall not separate from each other till they both return to me by the Pool (of Paradise)." Sunni references: • al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, v3, p124 on the authority of Umm Salama • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar, Ch. 9, section 2, pp 191,194 • al-Awsat, by al-Tabarani; also in al-Saghir • Tarikh al-Khulafa, by Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, p173

The term Shi'a in Qur'an and Hadith (2) Sunni references: • al-Manaqib Ahmad, as mentioned in: • Yanabi al-Mawaddah, by al-Qundoozi al-Hanafi, p62 • Tafsir al-Durr al-Manthoor, by al-Hafidh Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, who quotes the tradition as follows: "We were with the Holy Prophet when ‘Ali came towards us. The Holy Prophet said: He and his Shi’a will aquire salvation on the day of judgment." The "day of rising”may also refer to the day of rising of al-Mahdi (as). But in more general term, it means the day of judgment. Also it is narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: "O ‘Ali! On the Day of Judgment I shall resort to Allah and you will resort to me and your children will resort to you and the Shi’a will resort to them. Then you will see where they carry us. (i.e. to Paradise)" Sunni reference: Rabi al-Abrar, by al-Zamakhshari Furthermore, it is narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: "O ‘Ali! (On the day of Judgment) you and your Shi’a will come toward Allah well-pleased and well-pleasing, and there will come to Him your enemies angry and stiff-necked (i.e., their head forced up). Sunni references: • al-Tabarani, on the authority of Imam ‘Ali • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p236 A more complete version of the tradition which has also been reported by the Sunnis, is as follows: Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated: When the verse "Those who believe and do righteous deeds are the best of the creation (Qur’an 98:7)” was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (S) said to ‘Ali: "They are you and your Shi’a.”He continued: "O ‘Ali! (On the day of Judgment) you and your Shi’a will come toward Allah well-pleased and well-pleasing, and your enemies will come angry with their head forced up. ‘Ali said: "Who are my enemies?”The Prophet (S) replied: "He who disassociates himself from you and curses you. And glad tiding to those who reach first under the shadow of al-’Arsh on the day of resurrection.”‘Ali asked: "Who are they, O the Messenger of Allah?”He replied: "Your Shi’a, O ‘Ali, and those who love you." Sunni references: • al-Hafidh Jamaluddin al-Dharandi, on the authority of Ibn Abbas • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar, Ch. 11, section 1, pp 246-247 Then Ibn Hajar provides a bizarre commentary for the first tradition, saying: The Shi’a of ‘Ali are the Ahlussunnah since they are those who love Ahlul-Bayt as Allah and His Prophet ordered. But others (i.e., other than Sunnis) are the enemies of Ahlul-Bayt in reality for the love outside the boundary of law is the great enmity, and that was the reason for their fate. Also, the enemies of Ahlul-Bayt were al-Khawarij and their alike from Syria, not Muawiyah and other companions because they were Muteawweloon, and for them is a good reward, and for ‘Ali and his Shi’a is a good reward! Sunni reference: • al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar, Ch. 11, section 1, p236

The Term Shi’a in Qur’an and Hadith. بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ The word "Shi’a”means "followers; members of party". As such, the term "Shi’a”alone has no negative or positive meaning unless we specify the leader of the party. If one is a Shi’a (follower) of the most righteous servants, then there is nothing wrong with being Shi’a, specially if the leader of such party has been assigned by Allah. On the other hand, if one becomes the Shi’a a tyrant or a wrong-doer, he shall meet with the fate of his leader. In fact, Qur’an indicates that on the day of Judgment people will come in groups, and each group has its leader in front of it. Allah, to whom belong Might and Majesty, said: One day We shall call every group of people by their respective Imams. (Qur’an 17:71) In the day of judgment, the destiny of the "followers”of each group highly depends on the destiny of his Imam (provided that they really followed that Imam). Allah mentioned in Qur’an that there are two types of Imams. Some Imams are those who invite people to Hell fire. They are tyrannical leaders of each era (like Pharaoh, etc.): And We made them (but) Imams inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find. In this world We continued to curse them; and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the hateful. (Qur’an 28:41-42). Certainly, being the members of the parties of such Satanic Imams has been severely denounced in Qur’an, and the followers of such parties will meet the fate of their leaders. However, Qur’an also reminds that there are Imams who are appointed by Allah as Guides for the mankind: "And We assigned from among them some Imams who GUIDE by Our authority since they were patient and believed firmly in Our Signs.”(Qur’an 32:24) Certainly, the true followers (Shi’a) of these Imams will be the real prosperous on the day of resurrection. Thus being a Shi’a does not mean anything, unless we know the Shi’a of whom. Allah mentioned in Qur’an that Some of His righteous servants were Shi’a of His other righteous servants. An example was Prophet Abraham who was mentioned in Qur’an specifically as the Shi’a of Noah: "And most surely Abraham was among the Shi’a of him (i.e., Noah)”(Qur’an 37:83) وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ ﴿الصافات: ٨٣﴾ (Notice that the word "Shi’a”is explicitly used, letter by letter, in the above verse as well as the following verse.) In another verse, Qur’an talks about the Shi’a of Moses versus the enemies of Moses: "And he (Moses) went into the city at a time when people (of the city) were not watching, so he found therein two men fighting, one being of his Shi’a and the other beinghis enemy, and the one who was of his Shi’a cried out to him for help against the one who was of his enemy”(Qur’an 28:15) فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَـٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِ وَهَـٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ ۖفَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ... In the above verse of Qur’an, one is named the Shi’a of Moses (as) and the other one is named the enemy of Moses, and the people at that time were either the Shi’a or the enemy of Moses (as). Thus Shi’a is an official word used by Allah in His Qur’an for His high rank prophets as well as their followers. Do you want to say Prophet Abraham was sectarian? How about Prophet Noah and Prophet Moses? If somebody calls himself a Shi’a, it is not due to any sectarianism, nor any innovation. It is because Qur’an has used the phrase for some of His best servants. The above verses that I mentioned in support of Shi’a, has used this term singular form (i.e., one group of followers). This means that it has special meaning, such as: The Shi’a of Noah (as), The Shi’a of Moses (as). Also in the History of Islam, Shi’a has been specially used for the "followers of ‘Ali". The first individual who used this term was the Messenger of Allah himself: The Messenger of Allah said to ‘Ali: "Glad tiding O ‘Ali! Verily you and your companions and your Shi’a (followers) will be in Paradise." يا علي أبشر فإنك و أصحابك و شيعتك في الجنَّة Sunni references: 1. Fadha’il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v2, p655 2. Hilyatul Awliyaa, by Abu Nu’aym, v4, p329 3. Tarikh, by al-Khateeb al-Baghdadi, v12, p289 4. al-Awsat, by al-Tabarani 5. Majma’ al-Zawa’id, by al-Haythami, v10, pp 21-22 6. al-Darqunti, who said this tradition has been transmitted via numerous authorities. 7. al-Sawa’iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar Haythami , Ch. 11, section 1, p247 Thus the Messenger of Allah (S) used to say the phrase of "Shi’a of ‘Ali". This phrase is not something invented later! Prophet Muhammad (S) said that the TRUE followers of imam ‘Ali will go to Paradise, and this is a great felicity. Also Jabir Ibn Abdillah al-Ansari narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (S) said: "The Shi’a of ‘Ali are the real victorious in the day of resurrection/rising" شيعة علي هم الفائزون يوم القيامة

(Crimes of Umar) I can prove to you from Sunni books that abubakr and Umar killed prophet and his daughter, burn Any Hadith he could find, arrested and killed any sahaba who told anyone a Hadith, ran away the battlefield and left prophet alone to face enemies and put prophet's life at risk of being killed , he changed the religion the sunnah of prophet , he stole the khilafat , he attacked and conquered for his donya, he is a hypocrite and he admitted himself in a letter to Muawiya where he swears to two idols which used to be in Ka'ba, that he never accepted Islam nor believed in prophet Mohammad (pbuh) as Allah's messenger and he explained how he brought fire to the house of Ali and Fatima (pbut) and beats Fatima (pbuh) and she died from the injuries. Most of Your scholars or those who preach Islam are just like the rest of the Umaris, they don't know everything properly or misunderstood certain narrations that's why they don't accept Shia or speak against Shia , but some of the Sunni scholars know shia is the truth and they just can't let go of their belief because of love and prejudice for Abubakr and Umar and on other hand there is money, fame and popularity that comes with it if they hide it , that's why they do their best to hide it and twist anything that go against their narratives. Lying is super easy for them , that's how sunism/umarism survived for so long. And if Shia was false belief not the truth it would've extinct long time ago with all those Shia killings. Allah always appointed his prophets and wasi, and khalifa on earth from the time of Adam (pbuh) to all prophets and their wasi/khalifa and then what happened that suddenly after the last one , Allah and his messenger forgot to appoint a khalifa or just ignored if the Muslim have a leader or not , if the Quran needs an infallible Imam to teach what’s in Quran without mistake , if Muslim need an infallible role model to guide them without mistake, If it's going to cause disunity among Muslim. Election has no place in Islam , only Allah appoints his representatives to represent him and he has to be infallible just like his messenger to do and say everything exactly as he commands not a single error is acceptable. In all history when you see that election has done any good for humanity, people can be fooled and misguided very easily. People who are candidates do all sort of things just to be elected, you want to elect you can elect the mare of your town. you can never hide the truth even after 1400 years of lying, if you read one of these 2 books Peshawar night or Al ghadeer, it explains everything in detail with Sunni sources. And you will do dua for me for giving you these books names. you must have open mind and heart otherwise you just ignore the truth and reject it , just like what Abo Jahl did reject prophet even after seeing his miracles and speaking to prophet face to face. one more thing about Umar , he liked very much that men do bad things to him from his back , and your ulama because they can’t hide it anymore they make excuse that he had a disease that cure for that was men’s cum. 😂 And Some other stupid Umari scholars say , look Islam gave rights to homosexuals 1400 years ago, the west gives that right just now , can you see the level of ignorance yiu have in sunnism,, that’s why in some countries like Afghanistan it is common in many Sunni areas that men have young men or boys as their partners because they want to follow their ego , shaytan and Umar's sunnah. The things that Umar did believe today most of Kofar won't do,. When you debate Christians you bring them proves from their books that they accuse prophet nooh and Lut to do Heinous crimes , they spouse to be role model and be good , you are very clever but when it comes to Abubakr and Umar you ignore the truth like nothing happened.

The value of Sunni/Umari woman in sahih bukhari v1, p109 , there 3 things that if they pass in front of a person who is praying , the pray/salah will breaks , first dog, second donkey and the third one is Sunni woman , this is woman's value in your religion , in your your so called Islam . I've got a tone of examples like this , do you still want to continue following Umar? Or come and accept the Islam of purified prophet and Ahlulbait (pbuta).

Hadith about Abubakr and Umar. Prophet (pbuh) said to his companions I seek refuge from the fitna of Dajjal at the end time but I'm more afraid from the fitna of some of you (my companions) for my ummah than the fitna of Dajjal. (They were presence when he said this) (Mosnad Ahmad ibne Hanbal,v38,p334). In another sahih hadith Prophet (pbuh) said to Abazar there are people that their fitna is more frightening to me than the fitna of Dajjal for my ummah. Abazar asked who are these people?, Prophet answered they are Imam/leaders that misguide my ummah. Illegitimate caliphs, wrongful imams. Mosnad Ahmad ibne Hanbal v35, p222, hadith 21296, sahih hadith. Now if you put these two Hadith together , the first one prophet said to his companions that fitna of some of you more frightening to me than the fitna of Dajjal and in the second Hadith he mentioned who are those people , they're Imams who misguiding people , illegitimate Imams, wrongful imams, illegitimate caliphs. Not all companions only Those Companions who reach the position of imama and leadership, who are those companions? They're very few, who reached the position of khilafa/leadership, they're (Abubakr, Umar, Uthman, Muawiya, Abdullah ibne Zobair, from sahaba, there is no other sahaba ,, Imam Ali (pbuh) is from Ahlulbayt and not from sahaba.

Ahadith to prove Prophet (s) appointed Ali (As)as his successor. O’ people! Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. Am I not closer to you than your own selves? They said: “Yes.”
The Prophet of Allah(S) said: Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him. At this moment, the Prophet (S) ordered the people to pay allegiance to Hazrat Ali (‘a), and they obeyed and paid allegiance to him, making no objection Ayyashi quoted Hannan Ibn Sadir who quoted his father, Sadir, on the authority of Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir, as saying: When Gabriel (‘a) descended upon the Prophet (S) at the farewell hajj to tell him to proclaim the issue of the guardianship of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (‘a), this verse was revealed: يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ.. O’ Apostle, Proclaim the Message which has been sent to you from your Lord… (Sura Al-Ma'idah, 5:67). The Prophet (S) waited for three days until he arrived at Juhfa. Until then, he did not raise Ali’s hand, fearing people. However when he arrived on Ghadir Day at Mahi’ah, a place at Juhfa, he called for congregational prayer. After people gathered there he said: Who are closer to you than your own selves? The people replied loudly: Allah and His Prophet. The Prophet (S) repeated the question. The people replied: Allah and His Prophet. The Prophet (S) repeated the question for the third time. The people replied: Allah and His Prophet. Then the Prophet (S) raised Hazrat Ali’s hand, saying: Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him, and help anyone who helps him and leave alone anyone who leaves him alone. Since he is surely from me, and I am from him. And he is to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there will be no Prophet after me. When the Prophet(S) arrived at Juhfa, Gabriel descended to tell him to proclaim the guardianship of Ali (‘a). The verse on the guardianship of Ali (‘a) was also revealed at Mina, but knowing that the people would react negatively, the Prophet of Allah(S), did not proclaim it. At this moment Gabriel said: يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللَّـهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ O’ Prophet, Proclaim the Message which has been sent to you from your Lord! And if you do not do that, then you would not have fulfilled and proclaimed His Mission. (Know that) God will protect you from (the mischievous) men. (Sura Al-Ma'idah, 5:67). . How Tawbah/repentance of Adam (AS) was accepted? Baqarah 37, فَتَلَقَّی آدَمُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ کلِماتٍ فَتابَ عَلَیهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِیمُ Then (Hazrat) Adam (AS)received words from his Lord; (and he repented with them) and God accepted his repentance; Because God is repentant and merciful. Then Adam received (some) words from his Lord, so He returned to him mercifully; surely He is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful (37) . Prophet (s) was asked what were the words that Adam (AS) used so then Allah accepted his tawbah/repentance because of them? Prophet (pbuh) replied Mohammad , Ali, Fatima, Hassan, Hussain. And because of these words Allah accepted his Tawbah. Ahqaq al-Haq, volume 3, page 76,77,78. Al-Tabbyan, first volume, page 169. ⁃ Saheeh Bukhari ( Hadeeth number 6682)
 ⁃ Saheeh Muslim ( 3393 and 3394 and 3395 and 3396 and 3397 and 3398)
 ⁃ Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal ( 3593, 3665, 19875, 19887, 19892, 19901, 19914, 19920, 19922, 19925, 19944 and many other Hadeeths in this meaning.
 ⁃ Sunan Al-Tirmithi 2149.
 ⁃ Sunan Abi Dawoud 3731 and 3732
 ⁃ Al Mustadrak Ala Sahihain by al-Haakim al-Nisabouri ;6586, 6589 and 8529.
 ⁃ Al-Albani in Takhreej al-Hadeeth; 376, 1075 and 3598.
⁃ and in many other Sunni Books. The Hadees states that all the twelve will be from “Quraish”.
There is more clear Hadeeth from the Prophet (SAWA) which was been hidden by most of the narrators who where under the pressure of the tyrant rulers of the enemies of Ahlulbayt (A.S.). This Hadees states that all the Twelve Successors of the Prophet (SAWA) will be from “Bani Hashim” as it is narrated by the well known Sunni Scholar Al Qunduzi Al Hanafi in Yanabee’ Al Mawaddah Vol: 2 Page: 315.
The names of the Twelve Imams one after another are mentioned in many Hadeeths in the book of well known Sunni Scholar Al Khawarizmi Al Hanafi in his book Maqtal Al-Hussain narrating from Abi Salma from the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H. and His Holy Progeny). (Vol: 1 Page: 146.)
The Hadees mentioning the names of 12 Imams also narrated in the book of the well-known Sunni Scholar Al Qunduzi Al Hanafi (The name of the book is Yanadiyeh Al Mawaddah) Vol: 3 Page: 380.
There are Hadeeths mentioning the names of Twelve Imams (A.S.) narrated by al Hamaweeni As Shafi’ee.
Also you can find the mention of the Twelve Imams in the well known Sunni Book Tazkirat Al Khawas تذكرة الخواص by Sibt Ibne Al-Jawzi (a well known Hanafi scholar in Vol: 2 Page: 373.

Why prophet (S) kept Abubakr and Umar close to him, if he knew who they were and what they are going to do? And why there is no Hadith prophet (AS) cursing them? Do you think after all the censorships and lies in sunni books for the last 1400 years , your scholars going to leave any Hadith that prophet cursed لعن those two hypocrites ? Even after all the censorships there are still a couple of Hadith that prophet cursed لعن them, but you’re going to say it’s weak Hadith , this and that , you will find an axcuse for not accepting it , your ego and your ta'asob for Umar won't let you accept the truth easily, you will reject even verses of Qur'an, just because you grow up Sunni and you don't look at the matter with an open mind and heart. If Prophet (S) kept them close to himself because prophet is merciful, he would give them as much time as they need until their death, so they can repent and come back to Allah . Prophet (s) never made anyone go away from him, doesn't matter who they are this is out of prophet akhlaq and ethics/morals, prophet doesn't behave that way. 1. Abubakr and Umar insulted, disrespected , offended prophet (s) many times, and called him crazy but haven't yet changed and corrupt the religion. They couldn't change it anyway during prophet's life. Prophet didn't keep them close to himself, they keep themselves close the prophet, because they had plans to kill prophet and then take the khilafat,/successorship as their Jewish friends taught them, before they even accept Islam , do you how they accepted Islam and who they consulted to before they a accept Islam? that's why they insisted many time to marry their daughters to the prophet (S). They wanted to be the closest to the prophet (s). 2. Muslim has to be tested in all times,,, who they want to follow after prophet?, who is going reject or accept prophet' message and successor? Who is going to reject or accept verses about Abubakr and Umar and wodhu (امسحو) after 1400 years? This life (donya) is for test , all kinds of tests, and everyone has different test. Who is going to choose donya over his religion and akhira? 3. If prophet (s) had killed them for the crime they haven't committed yet (killing his daughter, stealing khilafat, corrupting religion, etc..) what would people think of prophet? Killing his innocent companions for no reason. 4. Prophet (s) could've make them go away nicely, ,, sometimes keeping your enemies (enemy of this kind more shaytan than shaytan himself) close to you is better than not being close, their fitna gets more and worse. Prophet (s) did the best thing, no one else can ever do that, prophet gave them all the chances they needed to repent and go back to their Lord and stop their hypocrisy, but they just didn't want to , like many Umaris today no matter how many verse and Hadiths from their books you show them, they just don't want to accept the truth. We don’t really need Hadith with their names on it that prophet had cursed them. Even know we have so many in Shia books, because Allah has curse لعن them many times in Que'an many times by mentioning their characteristics which is million times better than mentioning their names. Because mentioning them by their names, then they can take out the names or change their own names but mentioning them by their Characteristics and the things they've done, can't be changed. Plus Allah (SWT)has to protect Qur'an from anyone who wants to change or take out a word in a verse for any reason , at the same time conveys the message. 33:57 Surely those who offend Allah1 and His Messenger2 are condemned by Allah in this world and the Hereafter. And He has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. There are enough reasons and and proves in Quran and Ahadith for their kofr ,so even if you can't find any Hadith that prophet cursed them in Sunni books, the reasons for their kofr is enough and should make you start thinking.
