you can use rather HOT water around 60c actually if you don't agitate the socks much. I use a bit of soap and luke water to get the lovely dead skin and dirt out of the sock, then i steep in water over 60c for 5-10 minutes to disinfect. Wool does not "shrink" it felts and that requires more than just heat actually. Don't use boiling water, but 60c is fine.

This video is AMAZING!! It helped me understand so much without a lot of extra words or unnecessary fluff. And the graphics were insane. How did y'all do this? Who created those graphics? They were so clear, educational, and beautiful all at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone.

What's the point of reading the care label if wool sweaters always say hand wash? Unless it only has a little part wool.

Amazing story of what was Yorkshire and Lancashires manufacturing history. My Parents families were involved in the woolen industry. Dad's family were originally were from Salford Lancashire, working in the local Mills. My Mums family, worked, in the clothing industry, at Montague Burtons, John Temples and other tailoring factories, sadly all gone.

Electric hair trimmer (without any added attachments) works perfect on woolen long coats. Ensure to do it in one direction and not zig Zag. You can first try scrapping the bobbles without switching the trimmer on. And then, if required for a finer finish use the electric mode.
