war das der Abend wo Roman Schwaller die Rose gegessen hat? (ernstgemeinte Frage, ich bin mir ziehmlich sicher, dass ich auch da war)

So Griffin plays what, 4+ minutes Improv? The unknown plays 4+ minutes of Improv, and Sal eats them both up by playing 7 plus minutes of Improv. Sal is the man. The ones who think Roman is the best must be his relatives or his fellow countryman. I'm not saying he can't play, but neither he nor Griffin is Sal Nestico! Sal is the most underrated Sax Musician of all time in the universe.

quantity and quality are not the same. Also, music at a mastery level is very subjective. Just because YOU prefer one over the other two, doesn't mean said someone 'eats them both up'. They are all awesome. Order of solo's is usually an indication of who the band thinks is the most 'exciting' player. .......generally speaking.

Johnny´s clapping is messing with everybody! But I love him!! Plus he plays the melody on witch this tune is built on " The Masquarade Is Over"

Yea, I still like Griffin....just quit the off timing clapping when others are playing. And Roman was the best all round. Tone, playing within the structure, etc.

on KZfaq, video and sound are allways off (nie synchron). Griffin is not clapping with poor timing. You can see it on all KZfaqs with the rest of the best musicians.

Johnny Griffin....very inconsiderate...a distraction from a Legend Sax Player-Nistico. Hell, he (Griffin)can't even keep time.....you can't hold a candle to Nistico and you know it!

Ok listen boomer. If someone played giant steps and billies bounce after another you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, even if that person was shoving giant steps up your asshole and force fed you an F blues. Nuff said.

Fabulous! Johnny Griffin and Sal Nistico were two of my favorite tenor players as I was starting out back in the 60"s.
