So im from the states, i put the sytec in cus my fuel pump was dying and i broke the smaller fitting on the fuel pump for the jet pump/siphon, should i try to jb weld the fitting back on while i wait for a new pump to show up? I put the fuel pump on and started the car with the broken fitting and it was stumbling and when i revved it it didnt sound happy, afrs were 16 at idle.
@OctaneFever4 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t run it at all. You will starve the car of fuel. And JB weld might just break when you put the hose on or when it’s submerged in fuel. I wouldn’t.
@johnjimmers93563 күн бұрын
@@OctaneFever what i ended up doing was plugging the broken fitting and jb welding it shut lol im not sure if that was a good idea but i only need it to last a week until the new one shows up. Car runs good now, no break ups and afrs are 14.7 at idle. Shouldnt be a problem as long as i keep the tank full right?

wouldn’t it be cheaper to get a turbo kit? laurent motors has one for like half the price, or no?
@OctaneFever4 күн бұрын
I thought that might be the solution but watch the rest of my vids. I got downpipe from Laurent and it didn’t fit at all. Search for officially gassed vr6 turbo shit box videos. He bought one at kit off them and thought it was amazing until it turned out to be dog shit and lasted like 1 dyno pull.

the return line in the canister it has a check valve (no return ) it’s very important this valve to work properly . sometimes it get dirt and needs to much pressure to open . in this case the engine it’s not gonna start . crank but no start . creates positive pressure on fuel filter . better replace the canister with a new one

one worry that I have with this job is for the rod bearings. I've been told that the rods should get center bored when installing ARP bolts because the clamping force is greater on them and distorts the area where the bearings sit making it slightly egg shaped.
@OctaneFeverАй бұрын
Thanks. I’ve heard this before but nearly all r32 turbos that have standard rod do not get the piston big ends honed. I’ve had this turbo for over 10k miles now and no issues. I personally don’t think the clamping force changes much but the strength of the bolt from snapping is the key benefit. Also 40ish ftlb is really not a lot to distort the rods if I’m honest
