Dont understand why they didn’t do a full 300m water resistant 39 pelagos, it would not need the valve at 200m or 300m

I saw footage of me from last year's Windup Chicago! The long non-intro intro cracked me up. I'm cool with the new MoonSwatches. I have loved the Ultraman pretty much since getting into watches, so the lava is probably my favorite. The polar lights model is pretty cool though. I showed them to some non-watch friends (who wear watches, just not into them) and 2 of them really liked the desert model. The sides of Farer cases are absolutely brilliant. I was impressed with them at the aforementioned Windup Chicago.

These were definitely an unexpected surprise. I am glad it was brought up that RW has not been in the conversation, for a variety of reasons as mentioned. This release shows they should become part of the conversation, at least around this model release. I would go for the 39.5mm, which would make a nice vintage looking dress watch without the vintage fuss (or small size for some of us). It would be a tough call on which one to pick, because there are several that I find appealing. Thanks for doing a quick video on this release/brand. It seems to be right in the W&W wheel house.

I wish the moonswatch was better built. I love the design and the idea, but I just can’t bring myself to pay multiple hundreds for a a disposable plastic watch. If it had a steel case and quality pushers etc I’d be all over it. No doubt Omega will release full omega branded versions at some point , and no doubt they’ll be $18,000 a piece.

Seiko does so much right but equally does so much that leaves me scratching my head. I’d love a porcelain dial seiko if it was a simple 37mm 3 hand no date.

Farer never fails to impress. 👍 Seiko is pretty boring. I have no need for a plastic toy watch.

Thank you for a level-headed, reasonable assessment of the new Moonswatches instead of the tired of the typical YT dogpile "overpriced plastic watch". We all get it by now. The fact is that if they didn't sell, they wouldn't keep releasing them. I never understood how someone could call them a cash grab with one breath and then say it's "beating a dead horse" with the other. If the horse was dead, it couldn't be a cash grab. The fact is, they aren't for everyone. If you hate it, don't buy it. If enough people agree with you, they will organically go away.
@theenavybluemonster6 күн бұрын
Agreed. If you don’t like, then don’t buy and move on. Also, the term “cash grab” is silly when the goal of any company is to make money. Omega is the cash cow in the Swatch Group that have stockholders. Got to keep them happy.

They’ve been a great way to get people into the hobby whether we like it or not!
@CIRCLEDARK5 күн бұрын
@@wornandwound Definitely. A watch is almost useless in 2024 so we are at a real risk of our beloved hobby dying a slow death. If it's something that gets people into watches, I don't care if it's $1000 watch made out of toilet paper... it's a net benefit for us as a community. Besides, watches are an emotional thing, as we all know. Logically, we don't need them any more. So who's to judge what makes other people feel good? I'm getting up there in the years and Swatch reminds me of being a kid and lusting after those jellyfish watches that my family couldn't afford to buy me (I got a Casio instead, which means I have a soft spot for them as well). That's worth the price of these things alone. Are they "worth" the price? Not if you think of it as a tool watch. But if it brings you joy, it's priceless. Keep up the great work. Love your videos!

Just bought the Ranger. I wanted a good value functional no bull field watch w class and a heritage. Perfect for me. Understated class that anyone who knows watches can see. Looked at Black Bay, love the dial layout, but the shine looked too blingy for me. I wanted a rugged watch for all occasions. Also got tired of the divers, of which I have three Tags. I never use the bezel so this watch is perfect. COSC certified in house movement is outstanding.

I really wish TAG would have offer more clarity regarding the movement in this watch. I have a feeling, despite what some may say, that it is a standard Citizen Eco-Drive movement. These Solargraph watches are cool but I have a hard time paying $2-3,000 for a Citizen I can get for under $200

Credor Qaurtz=G.S Quartz today, 9series Spring Drive = ex credor movement. This is an ethos of the brand I like; As technology becomes depreciated, it is passed on to the sister brands, it gives s a chance to have a piece of high end watch making history that still possesses high quality

Well, being a guy who loves nerdy watch history, regarding Genta being a visitor to Seiko Japan, it seems he may not have been the only one, I think Philippe Dufour has been there too or at least has to have been because he has said on camera that he gave tutoring to some of the artisans in the Credor department

I just got the new 40mm Explorer and am struggling with the size. The dial could stand to be much bigger with all the stuff they jammed onto there. Nice watch, but seems like 41mm would be much better (a true 41mm, not like this phony baloney "40mm" measurement)
