I see a lot of EELs superfans in the comments but I have to say in all honesty that I really miss the ultra-catchy songs from the first three albums, songs like Novocaine For The Soul , Last Stop This Town, Mr. E's Beautiful Blues, et. I have listened to all of the EELS albums as they have been released but maybe I missed something. If anyone can recommend any catchy songs I might have missed from the later albums or singles/B-sides that I might not have heard I would appreciate it. BTW, I own all of E´s early solo stuff so you don´t need to recommend any of that since I know those albums pretty well.

Nice, but feels a little redundant.Unless he is writing about his sister, E seems to have the habit of writing about his ideal female that usually has no problems and lives in a perfect little world, putting her on an impossible pedestal. This might be why his marriages and relationships always fail. And after they break up she is too 'dark and dramatic'.

Haha, there's probably some truth in this! I quite like the song though - the most poppy thing he's done in a while.

Didn't like this song at first, too literal and hokey, but dammit, it's sinking in and grabbing hold. And the video is a sweet version of danse macabre. Argh!

Your music is always such a treat for me, no matter where I’ve been in life. Thank you for always creating such beautiful work to share. As I age I realize how hard it is to keep on creating. So much appreciation to the artists that make life sweeter with their resonance

Clickbait title, hoping for something a little sexy and naughty. Instead got a rundown of my life right now, and been shamed into doing some laundry. Should have known better from an Eels song (it's still lovely all the same, dammit)

I made my own version of this song (an instrumental) and renamed it "Saffie Goodnight" after Saffie Rose Roussos who was killed at Manchester arena RIP :(

An upbeat version of the context behind "I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant". Sad, bittersweet, but a tad more on the sweet side, bitter-Mr-E is an oxymoron ❤

I really dont care to wait for the whole album before I start just randomly playing this and Goldy when I have my guitar out or am busking.I got a wicked solo canoodled here already with an accompanying bass line. Don't even got all the choruses down yet, don't care...I'll just hum it out until I figure it out I guess. Yep.

Sounds a bit like Arcade Fire but then again they were probably inspired by Eels in the first place.

This album sounds much pop oriented from what we've got till now Not bad but it seems like it drinks a lot from the modern trend of songs being more about "the vibes" This is an interesting somg probably the best one yet
