Very nice model, it's really impressive! If you're interested, check out my model, which is rather similar, although smaller and fully mechanical (no programming module involved): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZagncJolZPXd3U.html I noticed you also use a single small pneumatic piston for the grabber (claw). In your observation does it provide sufficient gripping force to lift small objects?

If you code it in Python, there is an EKF library that can be used to filter and reorient the barcode. No masking necessary.

Thank you SO MUCH for putting this up, with instructions no less!!! This is truly phenomenal. 1100 pages of instructions in total, 1097 steps, and well over 3000 pieces (I haven't counted). I wanted to build a sorter like this, and now I have the inspiration; I'll try to use the instructions as a guide only and to come up with my own variation. So well done! There are so many design patterns from which to learn in this model.
