They had a large home there in Richmond for civil war vets and a lot of them were buried there. The locals used to call it Cherry Hill cemetery. I have a great great uncle and several other relatives buried there.

Went there yesterday and was deeply touched. Presidents Tyler's and Harrison's memorial as well as Major General Pikket's monument. Highly recommend.

Thank you for this video. I am so thankful for what you are doing, but too I am grateful to see this beautiful cemetery (virtually speaking). You see, a schoolmate from Burnet will be buried there tomorrow: Class of 1980. RIP Ruben Bernal. It warms my heart this cemetery appears to be so peaceful.

My ancestor was a Private in Company D, captured and paroled at Vicksburg and captured again at Chattanooga. I was mapping veterans buried in the Old Independence Cemetery here in Texas and ran across a 1st Lieutenant from Company F.

Honoring hero’s? Looks like treasonous individuals who took up arms against the United States of America. Bunch of losers who should never be honored.

It is an interesting cemetery. I found it when I was researching Civil War veterans buried in Burnet County. It was in poor shape. No one had been maintaining the historic part of the cemetery since the Masons stopped taking care of it. There are 10 Civil War veterans buried there - 9 Confederate and 1 Union. Norton Moses, the Grandmaster of the Masons in Texas in 1878 is also buried there.

Thank you so much for sharing this and honoring our Confederate soldiers. I feel that we are losing their history because a lot of Confederate statues have been removed because they bother some people. They are part of our history and I think that we need to remember the good and the bad,
