I believe a lot of people do not understand how difficult it is to run a salon suite. They get lost in the look of it and not the business. You have to have the clientele. And you have make your rental fee for the week off of one client. Getting back to your point if you pay attention to how corporate salon they have designated points for each service. Stay organized. But make sure you have the right clientele.

So why dont a tattoo artist just go to a salon suite thats permited for body art and rent an available room/suite? I Believe this would be considered a "Private Studio". They still gotta pay someone for rent every month of course but atleast it isnt 50% for every work that they do. Am I missing something here?

is this a new open area booth rental? Is this a totally new salon in the same shopping strip that you have your suites? I have a salon with 20 hair stations and I have 10 massage/facial rooms and have thought about just booth/suite renting with no renovations except now passing the responsibily to the stylist and collect a weekly rent with no receptions , or assistants and having to provide supplies that really add up.

do you let your tenants have full control of the building and come in at 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning and do someones hair? And if a stylist kid is sick do you let them bring in their kid and sit and wait in your break room and run up and down the hall ways not to mention clients who bring in their friend s nd kids to an appointment cause they too do not want to pay for child care? Can I control that as a owner or did we lose control of what goes on in building cause they are tenants and not employees.

Hey HOS do you think a building with an upstairs would work for a salon suites. I’m a barber and I’m renting at the moment also I have a team of 5 barbers and 1 stylist. I have a building I’m thinking of purchasing at a really nice price and on one of the main streets in my city. I have contractors ready and I have capital to pull the trigger on making the suites a really nice luxurious building g for our clients. I like the barbershop atmosphere and I have already created a suite for my stylist. Just don’t know if my barbers are ready for it. Haven’t talked to them about it. But I think it’s a great opportunity. I currently work in the shop but I want to cut my work week from 5 days to 3.
