So the conqueror's dream, "A song of ice and fire" was past from king to heir. Thus, Lyanna was not only telling Ned to "promise me, promise me" to protect Jon (the heir), but to protect the secret as well. And in order to do both, Ned had to tell Jon the secret, but not tell him he is the heir. Not until he'd said the Night's Watch wouws. And I think Ned told Benjin everything, just in case...

6:06 This part, right there, shows us how Aegon, Jaehaerys, Viserys and everyone else thought the heir to the Throne and to the song, the prophecy, was A Man but they were wrong, the heirs have always been Women, Rhaenys, Rhaenyra and Daenerys are the tragic heirs, they were all wronged. Rhaenys was Aemon's daughter and heir, she had her grandmother's support but was refused and overlooked because she was a Woman, Rhaenyra was supposed to be Queen, she was perfect and would've kept the realm united, but that chance was stolen from her because she wasn't "a son". Dany brought the dragons back, she had the best intentions for the world but after experiencing so many betrayals she becomes the very thing she worked so hard to destroy. They all wanted a man, most of the audience preffer Jon over Dany, but they never gave Women a chance. Tragic.

I agree with you. Like yes, in part by blood he is Targaryen, but he is also a Stark. And not only blood makes a person part of a family. Everything about Jon's story, his character, how he was raised, how similar he is to Ned, the people he cares about who are all from the north, his ending going back to the true North, his only wish was to have the Stark name, his honour and mind set, everything screams North and Stark. For me, he will always be a northern man, a Stark in everything but name, not a Targaryen. He doesn't represent what a Targaryen was, Daenerys does. That is why, that unfortunately, I say that Daenerys is the last and true Targaryen. Not only that, but that scene that they show Rhaegar marrying Lyanna, doesn't make any sense. He was already married to Elia and had 2 children with her, he couldn't have marry with Lyanna. It was an illegitimate marriage, making Jon, still a bastard, only instead of Snow he would be a Sand. That and Lyanna naming Jon as Aegon, when Rhaegar and Elia already had a son named too Aegon, is so disrespectful. Just a plot device to make somehow Jon legitimate, when it was impossible for that to be true. If it is true in the books, hopefully George Martin will explain that very well, because I don't see how that could work. The moment, Rhaegar died his children with Elia would be the heirs, they died too so it pass to Viserys, his younger brother, and when Viserys died it passed to Daenerys, only thing we could argued is that after Daenerys's died it would be Jon, but by killing her he had became what in Westoros everyone hates : a kinslayer and queenslayer too. If Jaime was so antagonised because he kill the mad king Aerys, then the same should/would happen to Jon, plus the adicional of kinslayer. Anyway, my point is Jon is a Stark through and through, a man of the North, he may have in part the Targaryen blood, but it is the ice of the starks that rule in his being and in his blood, while Daenerys is the last dragon, in her blood there is only fire making her in my opinion, the last Targaryen.
