Can you please suggest any book for montessori activities?

There are a number of Montessori materials companies that provide lesson plans for the curriculum. Our program uses Montessori Research and Development. A Google search for Montessori albums would get you there as well.

I would love an in depth comparison of this with Singaporean Math. 🤔

We do not have expertise in Singapore Math, although my understanding is that this program also uses "manipulative.".

What is the name of this material?
@MontessoriLive6 ай бұрын
The numerals can be purchased from Neinhuis or Alison's Montessori. There are two sizes. I like the smaller size for the fractions and the larger size for whole numbers. The cut-out "holes" representing negative numbers are homemade from the craft foam pieces (I think that is what they are called) that can be purchased from a craft store.

I’m asking about the number line and the red lines. That represents the distance. Thank you

That material was available from Neinhuis Montessori.

Could you tell me the material you are using, or even better - a link to purchase it? Specifically the negative bead bars (colored bar cards with empty holes). Thank you!
@MontessoriLive6 ай бұрын
Hi, The colored bead bars with holes are handmade from the colored craft foam you can buy at Michael's or a similar craft store. They are cut so that the holes are the same size as the colored beads to allow the student to place the colored bead bar on top of the holes. The length of the foam piece is the same as the beadier (including the wires so that the holes last, if that makes sense!) Thanks for your question. This material was initially developed by Harvey Hallenberg. I took my elementary training from him in the mid-nineties and have used these materials ever since! I hope that helps.

Hey Flavia, Are you referring to the automatic subtitles that KZfaq does on videos? If so, then that's a setting that anyone can adjust based on their personal account.

What age do you typically introduce the geometric solids. From Dr. Montessori's literature I garhered that I should give them to 12 and 24 month toddlers to get farmiliar with the dynamics of the shapes and learn to trace with their fingers. Is that correct?
@MontessoriLive3 жыл бұрын
It is possible to introduce these shapes to toddlers. At the 3-6 level, they are the first lesson in the study of geometry and can be introduced to children who are three years old. They are also used in the lower elementary level. .

@@MontessoriLive thanks for replying. I've read Dr. Montessori's material and a few other books, but I definitely don't really know what I'm doing. Do you have any videos on teaching 12 months- and 28 month olds? As well as must have learning materials for them?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a question. Has the kid being introduced to the teens at this point? I assume he has but If not, how do you show the child, that 9+9=18? Do you say "1 and 8 make 18" ?
@MontessoriLive3 жыл бұрын
This material can be used simply to add to 10 as well. It is one of the very first lessons on addition. The child may not have mastered the teens.
