Palpatine’s plan with Rey does make sense though because it had to change to fit the current circumstances. Sidious first wants Kylo to be the vessel for his spirit and “heir to the Sith”. Killing Rey would’ve cemented Kylo within the dark side and proven his worth. However when Kylo turns to the light, Palpatine states how Leia has disrupted this plan. But sensing the growing shame and fear in Rey, and with her force potential also being high enough to contain Palpatine’s spirit, he turns his sight to her. He never wanted her to rule herself. When he says “rule here” “as Empress” “on the throne” he really means as a vessel for Palpatine while he rules. Sidious tried to complete the ritual but Ben stops Rey before she falls for the trap. When Palpatine realises the Dyad has the power to restore his body to its proper form - he needn’t steal a body. Makes sense to me. Episode 9 is actually really good if you think and give it a chance.

I find it funny the era /triology I like the most is the one where i like 1 movie and half of one movie. The outside content is what makes me enjoy it. Darth Plaguies makes the trash fire of the prequels so much better. Along withe the novelizations and comics. Not to mention the games.

The prequels are legitimately epic

I loved the show brought back old memories but not to hate also just my opinion but i didn’t like the ending. And ik we probably gonna get a second season but the ending felt off to me it seemed more like a regular show type of ending

I still enjoy all of them and watch them each year, but the sequels are definitely weaker. Feel like 2 has a good movie in it, just remove toy Santa and focus on Scott finding a wife more, maybe the elves get involved to pull them in more and the danger to Christmas if he fails to find one in time. The stuff in the real world I thought was overall good in it just very rushed. And 3 had decent ideas like Carol’s family and Jack Frost wanting more recognition but they needed better humor and spend more time in the alternate reality. Maybe see Jack not getting the satisfaction he thought he would and could just come to more of an understanding with Scott and they work together to get him more attention within the season as his redemption instead of the over the top character and theme park they do.

I like the second movie. It's cute that Tim has to find a wife who will become Ms clause, the tooth fairy is funny, Charlie is still there. The farting deer was unecessary and it's ad that Bernard was not there BUT it's entertaining. The first one is better for his message and characters but Santa clause 2 is weird and fun. It's ok 🙂

Ive never seen a video reviewing these movies and they are my favorite!!!! I know ive got nostalgia goggles, but I personally loved the third movies themes of family, motherhood, and the feeling of trying to balance it all when everything is against you! Scotts speech to Carol still makes me tear up upon rewatch. Its cheesy but in a good way! Havent seen the show yet, but thanks for making such a great video even if I don't agree 100% about the second and third movie haha!

I haven’t seen any of these but what they could have done for the third one is have Jack Frost realize he hated being Santa and goes back in time to be the Santa Tim Allen kills to become Santa in the first one! Then the three movies get stuck in a temporal anomaly that is only resolved by Archimedes when Indiana Jones frees Archimedes from time. Then Disney can make Indians Jones and the Temporal of Doom!

It's definitely a very fascinating trilogy

I think the phrase “Tim Allen did the first one out of affection, the second one for nostalgia, and the third one for a paycheck” quite literally shows in the final product of each film. I don’t think the show is bad, but they took 2 movie plots and stretched them into 6 episodes for 2 seasons. The show feels padded for no reason at all.

If Santa Clause 2 and 3 had better direction and writers, those sequels could have been pretty decent. The plots of 2 and 3 sound good on paper, just excuted badly.

These movies are my go to Christmas films. 23 December I watch The Santa Clause. On Christmas Eve I watch The Santa Clause 2. On Christmas I watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. It’s a great tradition. *Haven’t seen the show - don’t plan to.
