Simple answer: Electrons flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal. You'd remove the negative first to cut off the flow of power.

Good tips. Another tip, go watch the video on drilling out a hole to access the PCV port, so you can flush it with carb cleaner every 15k. Also, add a oil catch can. Other than that the car drivers pretty good.
@kaitlin4u3 күн бұрын
So I found how to do this, it’s okay if I spray the carb cleaner in the hole? That won’t mess anything up?

Thank you for the quick reply. I'll consider trying a control board and hopefully it fixes the problem, if not , off to the store we go. Thanks again. Video was helpful.

Good video, I have similar issues, however, my keypad does work but only for one wash at a time. Each time the wash ends I have to remove front panel, disconnect the wire from keypad and plug back in. It's the only way to get keypad to work. I've tried another circuit board for the key pad and that too behaves the same. Could it be the actual control board?? Parts are expensive and right now lots n lots of sales on brand new units. Not sure what to do. Any help is great. Thanks
@HandyDoctor893 ай бұрын
Thank you. It's probably indeed the control board. Used parts are cheaper and it's what I got and it still runs great. But if new machines are on sale, it's not a bad idea either.

So the catch can does serve a good purpose. It shows you when that hole in behind the intake is plugged…. Great tell tale tool.
@HandyDoctor894 ай бұрын
Sure...but if you forget to check and it's full and cold, the engine is gone...even easier than stock. I don't see that as a good purpose. Award/risk ratio too low.

Please place the year of your vehicle in the headline. The trays changed over the years.
@OMGWTFLOLSMH3 ай бұрын
Lots of stuff changed. My 2007 Japanese built - Canadian market Fit has an air intake on the left side (facing it) and a fuse block on the right side, with virtually NO space on either side. The battery is a very tight fit, I can't see how people are doing this with 2007-2008 Fits unless they have different engine bays in different markets.

What year is this equinox, and do they all have the oil extraction hole?
@HandyDoctor894 ай бұрын
As long as it's a 2.4l, it would work. This is a 2013. All cars have the hole. Filter location is what you need to worry about.
@robertperry25154 ай бұрын
Thanks , is there another way to extract the oil out cause my tubes are too large
@HandyDoctor893 ай бұрын
@@robertperry2515get smaller tubes and an adapter, not going through an alternate location. Too dangerous that way.
@robertperry25153 ай бұрын
Thanks , yeah that’s what I ended up doing although I got the tube a little bit smaller then the adapter air was getting in until I took a piece of gum and rap it around it, took awhile but I got it all out. How bout getting the filter out cause it’s bolted to tight any tips on that
