Im also concerned for Arsenal with the lose of Viv and how loved she was and the behavior seen in the video that Jonas may be losing the locker room which can't be good for the progress of the team. I just don't know how he can continue as manager. Doesn't seem like an environment a new player would want to come in to.

I think the age of the squad for England when you have “experienced” players like Stanway Walsh Toone Williamson and Russo are still under 26 the space to bring in new players is small anyway Stanway Williamson and Walsh all went to the 2019 World Cup it’s unfair to go at Wiegman for not bringing in younger players the squad is young anyway

Hello Sophie and Rachel. I loved the FA Cup final. I am a typical northerner and cannot help liking Ella Toone for being herself. Thanks to Ella's nan for making that goal possible. Vivianne seemed to have dug a hole for herself by criticism of money running the game at a time when Arsenal are off to Australia to make money. She is part of a couple in the team and Chelsea just moved on a vocal half of a different couple, after Emma Hayes comments. I am not so surprised. I have commented elsewhere that Arsenal player power reminds me of Leeds United men's team in 1970s. I have also been commenting elsewhere about how good the U17s are. I have been watching in anticipation of one day seeing them competing for places with the current Lionesses, many of whom are still young. I have been imagining Grace Clinton having a wonder game after missing the final and Beth England having a point to prove against her old club, scoring the winner. It would make final WSL day less interesting, but the U17 final might get more attention. Somehow I do not quite believe this though, yet I do hope U17 England win their Euros, they certainly try hard. They were very impressive in qualifying against Italy, which is what caught my attention. Lastly, you cover this stuff and I again reckon you deserve many more viewers.

Rachel and Sophie you are by far the best presenting/discussing and bringing incite into the Womens game in UK. Thank you. As a Palace fan I dream of Fran Kirby and Maren Mjelde joining us as it would mean others would see us a serious WSL team and also be willing to join. We have a chance to be serious and the management need to back us. The crowds will be amazing ( Ultras too ). And we bring a great Female coach to the WSL which sadly there are getting less and less of. Melanie Philips should get Villa job for me. Sadly I think Kirby and Mjelde will go to Spurs, but I can dream until it happens. Man City v Arsenal. I personally think it was yet again Taylors limitations as a tactical manager to react to Arsenals changes at half time. Nobody who knows anything about Football would do nothing when the Magnificent Kim Little is put on the pitch yet Taylor kept the same system. The only change he made was when Coombs came off for Angledahl and I think that was only because Coombs had been booked. Angledahl came on and instead of protecting the defence she ended up attacking more than defending ( Wasting a glorious opportunity to pass to the completely unmarked Kelly in the box which would have made it 2 nil ) When you are 1-0 up against Arsenal and you need to win a manager should react to the changes and flow of the game. You bring on defensive players to sure up the midfield and make sure your defence is set up for coping with new threats. You see out the game yet Taylor did none of this. When he substituted the injured Casparij ( Should Lacasse have been sent off for the challenge?) instead of bringing on Morgan who easily fits in at right back he moved Laia Aleixandri and brought on Kennedy. Aleixandri looked lost in that position and the threats stemmed from that side of the pitch thereafter. How can a manager start a season with 1 striker? Bunny gets injured and the creative players have no one to feed. Jess Park would still be sitting on the bench if Roord had not got injured. Morgan and Mace are being completely wasted sitting on the bench all season. These are two of Englands brightest young players. Mace should have come on instead of Angledahl to close down space alongside Hasegawa. Little the magician had too much class and Taylor lost the Title because he did not have the skill set or imagination to change it. (SIDE NOTE) When Weinwroiter came on and completely had Hemp in her pocket again Taylor did nothing. He should have shifted her to the right as Hemp seemed defeated. Laura Wienroither was the first player ever to have Hemp in her pocket (Euro first game ) and Hemp struggles against her ever since! HEmp for me made a mistake signing to stay at City. They will never compete well in Champions league as the manager is not tactically clever enough. Why Barca/Lyon did not come calling is amazing to me. Chelsea have been gifted a lifeline and they grabbed it. It is over now. Man Utd in last game next saturday will be the crowning of Chelsea as UTD have only played well in one game in the last 12 months...the Semi final...win or lose the final their season will be over. Enjoy the Cup Final...I;m supporting Utd so that Kirby and Mjelde are put off joining Spurs!!! Also how good is the U17 tournament at the moment....so many exciting prospects on show.....the Womens game is making huge strides forward...so exciting!!

Thanks for your comment. We have actually spoken about Steph’s retirement and wonderful career numerous times. On a previous episode of ET with GOTB, when it was first announced, on 90min Talks, the Guardian podcast with Soph, on the Upfront podcast with Rachel, all of which are promoted on our other platforms. On our Instagram lives and one of us was also at City at the weekend and covered her lovely tribute on the day on our Instagram. We’ve also got a one on one interview with Steph which we did with 90min coming out soon. So don’t worry we have covered it.

Hello Rachel and Sophie. Imagine if Beth England scored the winner against Chelsea? Instead, might Grace Clinton be inspired to do something special to make up for missing the FA Cup final (such a pity for her)? As for the final, Toone loves Wembley, according to Russo. Did Arsenal injure a City defender, so as to get Alanna Kennedy on, with their Aussies knowing her positional play, to get a chance to get Stina goalscoring opportunities? Should City have started their Celebrations with Steph after scoring or concentrated on driving home their advantage? Lastly, I still think Chelsea under used Aggie this season and could have won the lot if they gave her more of a go.

It wasn't ideal for Arsenal to produce that kind of (televised) performance during a UWCL 2nd leg semi-final weekend. A massive gulf. It was sad when Arsenal & Utd (& Wolfsburg) were ejected during the UWCL pre-qualification phase. But, it was probably for the best given the performance levels on show in the UWCL semi's.

I'm so pleased you mentioned time wasting and the diving in the Champions League match. I thought some of the players should have got an award for their acting. That is one aspect of the game I really hate. I know people will say it's part of the game but I think it detracts from the game. Thanks again for your insights!

Lyon and barca being in the final again proves the women's game still needs more time to grow. The addition of Europa League will be a great boost to the women's game. It will allow more teams to progress in Europe and not be cannon fodder to the top teams. Also I'm not really excited to watch the final between lyon or barca. We have already seen this movie and it's honestly boring.

Are there not enough differences between this season's & the 22/23 Final to etch-out some interest though? I'm not sure the football calendar is capable of throwing up any game that could complete with the levels a Leon vs Barca match is likely to produce.

@montygibbon1905 I'm not disagreeing that the two best teams are in the final. The issue I'm having is that I'm not interested in watching only 2 teams fight for the top spot for the last 4 years. We need a chelsea or a Bayern Munich to make and win these finals for diversity sake. That's why a europa League would help other teams gain recognition and help with the top heaviness that has occurred.

The goal wasn't a chelsea mistake it was a deflection when you defended that deeep. You invite shots and deflections. They couldn't hold on to the bal because they didnt had that that release upfront, so when they got pressed aggressively in the interiors, panick mode went on, and we forced those mistakes, especially with cuthbert Aita and patri didn't let her on the ball for too long unless it's a backpass, so we were very precise, and it rattled chelsea that we overloaded the midfield, so we had numerical superiority. Constanly and caro hansen left lawrence and charles function less broke organization, and bronze had the space to attack it and cross on both wings. Controlled the game wasted a lot of chances it should have been 4 5 goals at least, but yoou cant controle everything and were convincing in the end. With stats that back it up. The difference between english and spanish media is like night and day. Haha, interesting.

Hello Rachel and Sophie. I thought after the booking for Chelsea, "Get her off and Millie on to give some direction, before they get her sent off", thinking of Aitana's comments last week. I also enjoyed Everton's equaliser, as a neutral. It was like a fairy tale ending and seemed like the winner. Ella Toone's goal certainly was a winner. She could do with another target for assists too. It seems forwards are in demand. I commented earlier this year that Chelsea needed to get Aggie Beever-Jones more game time, in case she was needed to make a difference at the end of the season.

There's some context to the decision not to sub-off Buchanan after she collected the first yellow... EH's post match press conference: "...I was surprised when I saw her selected; she's famous for easy cards..." (Wasn't entirely clear whether her subsequent 'worst decision in UWCL history' referred to the appointment of the Referee or the Referee's decision to show the 2nd yellow)

Sophie & Rachel thank you so much for such a fantastic interview with one of the best defenders in the WSL. Aoife Mannion - I have been a huge fan of Aoife since seeing her outstanding performances when playing for Birmingham and this interview has made me an even bigger fan. As someone who is half Italian I would say Aoife is the nearest to an Italian style defender in the WSL. Such intelligence, anticipation and a natural defender. Utd have massively missed her this season. Le Tissier and Turner are lucky to have such a player to play with and learn from. I was devastated for her and Ireland that she missed the World Cup. Such a great performance against Chelsea ( OK Carter being wrestled to the floor in the penalty box was missed by everyone including commentators and the ref, but then a lot was missed by the officials!) Is it just me who thinks that Aoife would make a fantastic defensive coach or even a manager when she eventually retires in the future. So eloquent, inciteful and intelligent in this interview. Any team would be lucky to have her. Ireland are a better defensive unit with her playing. Good luck to Aoife in the FA Cup and Euro Qualifying as she deserves it and those of us who love the art of defending want to see her fit and playing and doing what she does best. ALSO is that a Ghostbusters car on the sideboard behind Aoife?!! When you wanna stop a goal who you gonna call? Aoife Mannion!!!

This is fascinating, as usual. It worries me we didn't have cover at LB so that Rachel had to play there despite being a striker at club level and a very successful one at that. I don't understand why England are bringing LBs like Taylor Hinds and Poppy Pattinson through the youth system but they're not then graduating through to the full England side. We will need cover for Niamh Charles in future and I don't understand why England won't bring those two or Taylor at least into the wider squad. I understand Niamh is doing well and that's good but we need cover everywhere. Even when Millie Bright returns to CB and Alex Greenwood then potentially moves back outboard, we will still need cover for our first-choice players.

I saw a similar video from Germany and they had a section on other European countries' leagues, especially England, France, Spain and Italy. More and more it seems those countries have a leading club side and a couple of others nearly as good. WSL could be in danger of following the trend, if those top clubs gather up the best players, "Super League" style.

the literal only issue with VAR in the NWSL has been the length of time it takes *sometimes* to run to the screen and make the call. to their credit, they haven't actually gotten anything wrong. some great goals have been *rightly* called back for tight offsides calls, but not sure what you're referring to after two weeks this season. it's been overwhelmingly positive & has done what it says it should: it gets the calls right.

I enjoyed this and another interview I saw with Leila this week. I have happy memories from there, but in the same way I would have wanted United to win last year, to keep the league as interesting as possible, this year it will be City, though it is easy to cheer for all their players' football this season. Sorry Toone and pals, nothing personal. I still think United should have bought Asisat Oshoala, if they could have. The city has changed so much since I saw Back to the Future at the cinema there, like Marty's town did. It seemed to have seen better days walking through it after the film, with Sir Alok Sharma.

Khiara Keating has two bad games then negative comments start. Excellent review. Totally agree about over playing at the back. Think of Baggaley 2 weeks ago against Liverpool and then look at Keating doing exactly the same thing against Everton only to get away with it. Side issue - BBC coverage - Is just me who thinks there is a slight Arsenal Bias going on? I say this as a Palace fan. A massive North London derby and coverage is hosted by a openly Biased ex Arsenal player. The other pundits are Ex - Arsenal players ( I think they are good pundits but!) . They had a nice cosy interview on the side line with the Arsenal manager before the game followed by a separate short interview with Spurs manager by someone else. Why did they not have someone like Schillaci on or at least 1 ex Spurs player to balance out the punditry? This seems to be a common theme for Arsenal games on the BBC. They recently even had ex Arsenal players as co commentators on top of the ex Arsenal host and 2 pundits. To add to this in the BBC Women's football show last night they had 2 pundits who again were 2 Ex Arsenal players! At the end of the programme when they said "what is coming up on the BBC this week" all they said was about the Arsenal Conti Cup semi final on the iPlayer on Wednesday and completely omitted that the Chelsea v Man City semi final is on the iPlayer on Thursday! How is that not biased but also neglecting the fact that they will lose viewers for the Chelsea v Man city game if they are not telling people it is on in the programme showing the Women's game!! They did not even mention if there was a BBC FA CUP game on next weekend!! Instead they said that you could catch up on all episodes of Gladiators! Seriously. Is it just me seeing this?
