I wanted to do this under my car port at my house. Is this strong enough to hold a vehicle?

@@colleenw8457 how did it turn out? And what concrete do I use? I want to start mine while Michigan is warm these next two weeks. I did find the mold. It’ll be here 3/19

A no BS instruction on this process.. thank you!
@SaranganiBob4 жыл бұрын
Hello Omar, your instructions made everything very clear and it looks so simple to make the fingers. Would I be able to sew them with a ordinary sewing machine or will I need to get a heavy duty upholsterers machine?. Also, what thread do you use? Thanks for your instruction video.

Although I'd like to build a full size hovercraft one day, I think I'll make a small rc model in the meantime. Would those rows of holes along the side work just as well with a bag skirt? Or is the multiple hole system mainly used with finger skirts?
@michaeljohnston2434 жыл бұрын
How many forms per bag were you able to get?

A word of caution to those watching, NEVER shift your transmissions from rev to fwd or vise versa like shown here. Always shift out of gear into neutral and pause before shifting into the opposite gear. You will wear out your clutches and transmission very quickly.
@omar9266 жыл бұрын
I never thought to much about that, I am sure that would be a good thing for me to start doing. All though I have been operating this boat for 12 years now and have never had a problem with the transmission. Thank you.
@jhudds676 жыл бұрын
I always just pause a second then shift, I was always told to pause when shifting. in any case love the boat is she fiberglass or wood hull? Great job on the restoration. Its a labor of love.
@thewhomphlew4 жыл бұрын
There are clutches in marine transmissions? As many as I've swapped I've only seen gears in them.

Thanks for the info. May I ask how do prevent wather get into the holes? I want to make my own Rc model like the big ones. or there is nothing inside to prevent water get in...I mean when you stop engine and just let it float.....sometimes the hovercraft tilt it self and wather could reach the holes......Thanks for help me.
@omar9269 жыл бұрын
The hole are at the top of the plenum chamber, this is were the air is forced into the outer hull. A chamber that is around the out side of the passenger compartment. Also there's the fingers, when deflated water will push them over the holes. And last there are flapper valves on the bottom side of the plenum chamber, when the hovercrafts lift fan is revved up the air will blow the water out the bottom.
@EmoZhaeNan9 жыл бұрын
omar926 Thank you so much. I was thinking about the fingers but i am learning about how everything is working so i was unsecure about the holes. I allready watched many many videos and I am starting to read some information about hovercrafts. Thank so much again.

where do you get the fabric from? what's it normally used for?
@omar92610 жыл бұрын
"Slip stream technologies". You can find them on the internet. I am not sure what other uses this fabric may have. Tents or maybe wind breakers, baggage. Were ever high abrasion and water resistance would be needed. Hope this helps.

Hî, Ken Think you . It is very interesting. But what would be your advice to design a "2 compartments finger" ? In my case I think it is better two have two bags: one quite sealed acting as supply tank and another one exactly like yours, feed up by the first bag.
@omar92610 жыл бұрын
Sounds interesting, are you thinking something like a cone skirt inside the finger? Hum, guess trying it couldn't hurt to tri. Good luck and have fun with it.

why doesn't the whole pressure get lost escaping between the individual fingers. Can you explain me how it works? there is no attachment between each individual finger right?
@omar92610 жыл бұрын
When the underside of the hovercraft is filled with air the fingers expand like balloons pressing against each other, pressing together makes the seal. If one were to get damaged or blown out, the fingers on both sides will expand to fill the void.

Thanks so much for the reply so fast , I subbed ya before I think redone it anyways Thanks Ken is it .
