For a short while I attended Bing Hampton University in the 1990s. Named after “Bling” Hampton who invented bling back in the early1940s, and who was unfortunately killed by a German sniper in France in 1944 during World War II. The official report stated Mr. Hampton was shot while running through a Wheatfield, impeded by approximately 30 pounds of bling he wore, including a Mercedes-Benz hood ornament which adorned his neck on a heavy gold chain. Though his last name was Bing he pronounced it “Bing” due to a speech impediment and the name stuck.

These are very good small liberal arts schools...and there are others. There is not need to appropriate the "Ivy" designation as these schools are well reputed all on their own.

Very good informations. I would add that if the two federal swiss schools (ETHZ/EPFL) compete with the best American universities and OxBridge, the tuition fees are 1,750 USD/year. An advantage in Lausanne where the cost of living is 30% cheaper than in Zurich. Certainly the best country to study science and technology at an international level almost for free.
