Vad fint!

@Theorimlig3 жыл бұрын

@hansjalv5 жыл бұрын
@Theorimlig5 жыл бұрын

@svenhanson3985 жыл бұрын
@vladanlausevic79715 жыл бұрын

The idea of municipalities ie. local town/city halls adopting responsibility for CO2 emissions and developing plans of scaling these down to the municipal level is a move that should be adopted without any delay and legally binding which the speaker is advocating. Is this going to work though? Are the local councils going to play the ball? For this strategy to be effective we need something else because the success of this scientific proposal is predicated on the idea that every Council is on the same page. That it has the right level of eco leaning and green business know-how and is willing to apply it. This is not the case which means that the plan needs something else. The process of adapting the entire community to the decarbonisation plan involves everyone as each one of us is an emissions contributor so, logically, all of us should work as a collective to reduce, adapt and innovate novel ways of addressing our problems at all levels. Such a plan, therefore, needs to factor in the willingness on the part of local governments to provide spaces and resources for residents to use. Residents can convert them into action hubs, which we call Ecoplazas, ( vimeo.com/11681144 ) logistical centres where everyone works towards achieving these reductions and simultaneously creating new leisure resources that are currently unavailable and a second level of greener economy within our cities. These would be particularly effective for the areas that are frequently affected by natural disasters. The role of councils could also be to relax laws in terms of acquisition or rental of such spaces at nominal rates so that many such hubs can spring up around our neighbourhoods fast. Hubs also mean - 1) faster transition to cleaner energy, 2) more creative and easier transition, 3)socio-economic regeneration of our communities and new income streams for the ccommunity, 4) improved social integration, cohesion and recognition of cultural diversity, 5) improved thinking and greater, more systemic improvements 6), enhanced health and leisure facilities, 7) more social & green entrepreneurs, 8) answers to homelessness and housing crisis, 9) thousands of new green jobs and opportunities, 10)acceleration in green and social innovation, 11) improved cooperation between local orgs, businesses and the public, 12) intrinsic social value and benefits for everyone . How can this be done? More info can be found here www.abigstrategy.com/page/about-book/54/. Ecoplaza will be what the Internet is today, when we combine digital networking with the social innovation and diversity on the ground.

Juan’s question of how such bridge can be built.. The work that Peter and I put forward ie. the global solution methodology of how we can answer climate change and the most pressing development issues, both local and global, within our communities but within the larger framework of socio-economic and environmental factors provides the template of how this can be done effectively in every village, town, and city. Our work influences a group of people who independently createTransition Towns. The idea is not as effective as the integrated approach methodology of the Big strategy but it is a great start. We have designed the methods and paths that take this work much further! Where and how was our work presented?1992- 2003 -models tested through eco projects and self-funded businesses and numerous presentation attempts to harness support and endorsement for the work; 2004- TFL-Labour gov proposal and strategy presentation, 2005 - Green action centre created in Spain and models tested; 2005- huge body of work presented to green leader who shares this widely: 2006- Transition towns idea developed; 2008- IUCN Congress on Nature, Barcelona; 2009- DEFRA, UK - Green lifestyle centres concept and film presented, Gordon Brown announces the creation of Life Centres but project dropped; 2010 - COP15 to IPCC and NGOs as part of International Institute of Environment & Development, 2011 findings and insights written into A Big Strategy book; 2010 - A three-prong approach adopted as a new method for addressing climate change, as a Plan B. This includes an International Funding Agency and Google computer solution network; 2010- New Economics Fundation request to see our integrated approach work, they only receive part of it; Green Bank as a part of Green Deal and Robindhood tax taken up in the UK; Present- promotion continues through publications. The success of this widely promoted model has led to many sub-strategies being instigated in London to date and many more or less successful attempts, more info here www.linkedin.com/pulse/16-social-trends-origin-extrapolation-what-can-next-peter-j-hughes/ If the action hubs vimeo.com/11681144 that operate on a second higher thinking level generating a parallel-greener economy are set up everywhere such realignment and and transfer of scientific solutions and knowledge will happen faster as greater numbers of people get pragmatically engaged in working together and solving problems en mass. Thus enabling the paradigm shift on a massive scale to occur. Such hubs can be linked together to maximise the use of the know-how and resource base. If we keep adding on to the existing green schemes, albeit, food growing, shared gardening spaces, better recycling, car or bike shares we increase the number of schemes but we’re not really creating the bridge between the advances in science, where we all need to be as societies and the effective methodology of saving the planet that all of us can participate in, in order to create the outcomes we want and 20/80 shift to occur.
