Beautiful spiritual woman... I would love to see her live one day...she keeps her life private which I understand. So, thank you for introducing her views; her music touches me in ways that only a girl denied can understand. Girl Power!!!

I absolutely admire her for sticking to her African musical root and for going back and giving back. Many of us come to London, learn music theory then forget who are playing the music of the devil: R&B, pop, hip-hop which are all wrong representation of who we are, some of us make their money, become celebs, yet controlled by the colonial crooks we work for and whenever they feel, they could take the fame and money from us, send us to jail :) like R Kelly and soon Puff Daddy. We need to give back like she's doing, help build a bush school in Africa, Jamaica she's a hero.

SubhanAllah! This is an important aspect of our religion that is sadly neglected. As the lady rightly said, it is an obligation on the Muslim community to take care of our dead and return them to our Lord, Allah(swt) in dignity. We need an Islamic authority that will also be responsible for this work throughout the country. In as much as I commend the ladies and their association for the work they are doing, this shouldn't be left to an association but a central organisation. This, and other issues that are affecting the Muslim Ummah in the Gambia that needs taken care off, is all the more the reason why we need to reform the supreme Islamic council to an authority that is empowered to be responsible for the affairs of the Muslims. May Allah(swt) reward these women and men for the honourable work they are doing. Ameen.

It is remarkable that the Gambia governments have not bestowed him with a National Recognition. It will give the country’s youths inspiration to see what is possible. I did have his music catalog, I have to shop and add his portfolio to my music collection.

Dear Sona (Sona in my language means gold), I have been a fan of your music for a long time. I am from Bangladesh. I have no idea if you have any Idea about Bangladesh. The very first time I heard a Kora piece by you, I was surprised to find how moved I was. Your music reached the very core of my soul. I felt as if you have been given the responsibility by Allah to bring all humanilty together through your music. Bangladesh is a small country (geographically, not population wise) like Gambia. But, our music is so expansive, so diverse, that you will surely be amazed. Come to Bangladesh. You will find a lot of resonance of your music here. - Yours in Sublime Humility, Quazi Malek.
