IMO the Bulldogs players were fragile, flakey & jealous of AKER.

Footy nut here who as a Pies’ supporter loved watching the great blues; bombers, north , tigers, lions and hawks sides since my birth in 1964. Stephen Kernahan and his fellow Sandgropers, Bradley and motley, were guns! I do not know him personally, however, publicly, he has always struck me as s VERY humble and intellectual gentleman, who, was a genuine GUN AFL Player.

He was a thug. If he thought he needed to start bashing opposition players to win a game he'd do it. Unfortunately that tarnished what would otherwise have been an outstanding career.

Watching Front Bar this week (July 2024 by the way), an interview with Archer and Stephens unfortunately showed way too clearly that the tension in the air as a result of Carey's past actions still persists...

Love Roosy. I remember when he was On The Couch and Tom Morris is peppering him questions about whether he'd take the Melbourne coaching job. At the end of the questions Roos says to Tom, "next time you ask me questions without notice we'll send your clothes back to the Mens Club". Totally made Tom Morris look like a little kid.

Parko’s right. The media are parasites. Sheehan’s argument “but we love the game too” means nothing. The media report lies and bullshit, can criticise away those who actually play and coach the game with no recourse and with no one criticise them.

God I like this interview. Bloody excellent Mike. Thank you Jason for articulating yourself so very well. Great interview mate. Yes I'm a Hawthorn supporter ever since Winter 71 when David Parkinson brother gave me a Hawthorn jumper and I put number 27 on my Hawthorn jumper and then they won their second flag. I went to the school where they trained. First Form '78 Hawthorne Premiership. Final year '83 Hawthorne Premiership. Its hard to describe the extacy of seeing Hawthorn win a flag and 12 Premiership of the 13 in my lifetime. 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015. It would be absolutely remiss of me not to acknowledge the fabulous competition that teams like North Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon, West Coast and Geelong have been through Hawthorns era's. I never take a Grand Final for granted. Been to winning ones and loosing ones. I rejoiced when the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne won their recent flags. God I wish St Kilda would win one during my lifetime. Its not survivor guilt or victors guilt, its just humanity and empathy because as a fan, St Kilda fan/supporters/member are no less and no more than I am a Hawthorn fan/supporter/member. It must hurt barracking for a team all your lide and not seeing them triumph. I sure hope St Kilda win a flag before Gold Coast, Fremantle or Greater Western Sydney do.

I would have liked to see Glenn Archer try his dirty play tactics on Barry Hall. Barry would have sent him to na-na land for an elbow to the ribs, or whatever excessively rough play Archer tried. Like Toby Green, Glen was a champoin. Why such skilled player need to be thugs is a mystery to me.

Slight correction. KB kicked 778 goals, not 478 goals (as is listed at 12:16). Surprised Mike Sheahan let this oversight get through. Otherwise an excellent interview, consistent with the rest of the series.
