First...thank you for reacting to PTX. I love this double reaction so much because I know the original and many people don't. What PTX did with this song with only 5 mouths, a clap and a stomping foot blows the original, with instruments, completely away...like obliterated it.

I was around for the first one of 1964, and didn't pay that much attention to the lyrics. It had a nice beat and I could dance to it. Disturbed, however, actually made me listen, and hear what the lyrics were saying. Wow, just wow.

In 1964 when Simon and Garfunkel composed it, had a "great beat, and I could dance to it." In the scheme of things, it turns out, is a soft warning, of how things were becoming. In 2015 Disturbed covered it, and it actually made me digest the words, and the anger/rage showed through. The final group, PTX in 2019, gives one, for lack of a better word, hope.

I think you meant how much music has DEVOLVED. As bad as this reaction sucks, it's simply obvious that you don't truly like great music and musicianship.
