What do you put in the water so the paint clings to the tumbler?

Hi there! I’ve tried to marble with this brand and all the paint clumps and sticks to the skewer when I try to make my design? Any idea why? I was thinking maybe the water should be warmer.. Thanks for your help ❤

Do you add anything to the water before you add the paints? I’ve seen some videos that use Carrageenan to thicken the water first.
