First. You are a truly excellent player. Thank you for your channel. I'd like to offer some ideas. Your lighting makes it hard to see what you are doing with your right hand. Having a light source close to the camera would help us see exactly what is going on when you are picking/strumming. I understand you have to pick one camera angle and the one you are using is best to show what both hands are doing. That said, Your fingers are also blocking the view. I'd love to see you show what each finger is doing on the fretboard. Please break it down to show what strings are being done and when would be helpful. Thanks for the vids!

Thanks for the input! Most vids use a common technique: thumb, first and second fingers, some people also use the 3rd finger, its pretty easy with a little practice, I play the same way on natural tuned 6 string guitars, its nothing fancy ;')

@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar
@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar 7 күн бұрын
@isaacshaver6218 there are 1000,000 tunings just like there are for regular guitars but the most common is open G: GDgB

@@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar yea I figured....I was just curious what standard was....seems like you mostly tune it "open"... like in G or E or A, so you can just play one & 2 finger chords using open voicing? Like slide guitar or harmonica? Do you kno wha I'm trying to say? I'm curious cuz there is a vendor selling them every year at a local fair & ive thought bout purchasing one...

Thanks for this lesson Jag. When I'm playing with fingerpicking, I'm using 3 fingers, one per string, the thumb only on the third string. What do you think about that?
@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar
@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar 24 күн бұрын
Sure, you can always move your thumb back-and-forth between different strings and you can do the same with your other fingers depending on the cord you’re playing and the notes so you want to play

Thanks for reviewing this bass, which is a hidden gem. I'm a bass player, and I play only short scales. This Jaguar SS is my favorite bass of all time--although my Sire U5 is very close. They are the only two solid-body basses I have today. I play mine with a very different tone. I use flatwound strings, playing with my fingertips with the tone off and only the neck pickup. I get a heavy, smooth, round tone, much like a classic P-Bass. It sounds perfect for "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" for example. One thing you didn't touch on is my favorite aspect of this bass, and that's the comfort. It is easily the most comfortable bass I've ever played. It is light, balanced, and has a lovely J-Bass/Jaguar contoured body shape. The neck feels great too. This is where it beats the Sire U5, which has a little better sound.
@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar
@BluesboyJagCigarBoxGuitar Ай бұрын
I totally agree re: comfort, it balances perfectly and feels very comfortable and since I’m primarily a guitarist it’s feels like a guitar since it’s a short scale.
