Many people choose cremation because it’s more inexpensive. Traditionally a burial can cost over $10,000. I suggest if you don’t want to be cremated you start putting a fund to the side. Or buy a lot and slowly pay it off. As well as investing in insurance. I sat down with both of my parents and told them that I cannot afford a traditional burial. I let them both know that they need to get life insurance or start saving on the side. I already started saving myself and I’m only in my early 40s. I told my parents I don’t want to be a financial burden if God forbid I were to go before them.

I had my husband cremated around mid July of 2021. They told me that it would take 4 to 4.5 hours to cremated him at a temp of 1600 degrees. RIP hubby. They also let me push the done button on the digital display to start the cremation process. It sounded just like your gas oven at home starting up.

Personally I think that coffin/casket should be further inside the retort/chamber for maximum dignity during the cremation process,it would appear that the lower part of the deceased would be reduced to maximum skeletal remains whilst from the upper part of the deceased would need to be broken down into smaller particulate before entering the cremulator to reduce the remains to what is commonly known as " Ashes", again personally I think that the technician is being totally undignified and highly disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. ( Purely my opinion of a highly delicate process)

Not really. The dust part is the end result be it centuries in the ground, the crematory as we see, or the sea for those who are buried at sea. Cremation just speeds things up. Hours as opposed to years in ground or months with sea life. Makes me tear up. Knowing my stepfather, both paternal grandparents, youngest paternal uncle most recently my late queen and love of my life all went through this. In her cases 18 years USAF boot camp upbringing and Scottish stoicism failed me.
