Enjoyed the video, so beautiful. Years ago, with my dog, we hiked down to the upper Chicago Lake from Summit Lake. Yes, at the top of that plateau above the upper lake is Summit Lake. You pointed out the trail to it in your video. It may not be open. It was steep and loose. My dog encountered a skunk which thankfully did not, you know. The second time I went on the Chicago Lakes trail I only had a little bit of time, late in the day, started at Echo Lake and went as far as the where the trail opens up to the road. Still a wonderful hike.

Hi Taylor and Sam. Just discovered your channel today while looking for videos on this hike. Will be leaving Rapid City South Dakota next Tuesday and spending 4 nights in Manitou Springs and 4 nights in Denver. Hoping to hike Devils Head on Sunday the 24th. Sorry you missed out on the views but the fog made things look cool and mysterious. Was looking through your list of videos and your have a lot of stuff I’m interested in so I did subscribe. Have a good day

I was up there this week. The summit views are some of the best anywhere. There are some fake trails that seem to lead down in different directions. I somehow followed one and by the time I realized it, didn't want to go all the way back up, so bushwacked my way down to the road, west of the trailhead. A mistake I don't plan to make again. I will study the trail as it enters the summit next time. I live on the west side, and it's about 3 miles to the trailhead. Yesterday I ran from home to the summit of Cutler, maybe a 4 mile run each way. Next will be Muscoco which is a little harder, but the 3 mile approach is the same so it's do-able. My plan is to incorporate a weekly Muscoco run into my workout routine. I live 1/2 mile from the Pure Bouldering gym, one block from the Cresta Pump MTB park, with MTB trails going everywhere from there, and a couple of blocks from the high school, which has an olympic size pool open to the public. The west side of CO Springs is really the best when it comes to outdoor sports, and never a problem with motivation if the destination is a summit like this one.

Hold the phone, Beatrice.... We tried this hike 2 weeks ago, basing it a lot on your video. Granted, we are some older than you two. We made it to Jewell Lake, and clouds were building, so we headed back. What your video didn't describe, was that a great deal of the trail to Mills Lake and beyond was not flat, modest Sierra-grade smooth trail, but rather a whole lotta stepping up/down on 30 inch stone steps and a trail littered with embedded rocks the size of footballs and basketballs!--hard to enjoy the scenery when you're trying not to fall. The only "easy" part of this hike was the one up to the Falls. Definitely, buyer-be-ware of this hike, it is not as advertised here.

... Always a good starter lake for a conditioning hike ,and both Silver Dollar and Murrey have fish to play with .... Naylor is private , (membership only)so no need to bother with that one ... I used to go here for my first hike each year for about 15 years ,, short but still makes you breathe hard ... a couple of nice Columbine patches along the way , and playful singing Marmots to chatter with ... ..Thanks for the memories ... You really picked some good treks since starting this channel ....Stay Safe and God Bless ....

...lol... KILLER BIRDS !! Have been there many times , the first mile from the lakes sign will sure test your wind ,, total of 6 lakes on up the trail ,, decent fishing ... most people don't go past 2nd lake ,, Mohawk #2 ... but if you want to camp the upper basin is also beautiful and very few people ,, Good place to work your map and compass skills ..Don't rely on tech devices only ....... there are a number of different trails that will get into this area ,, in and out and also loops ........Stay Safe ...Had Never seen any Killer Birds ... But did have lunch with a Sasquatch once .....
