This video is awesome! I grew up in mountain top in the '80s and spent many days at Angela park with my dad. Brings back a lot of good childhood memories ☺️

I am so happy to have found this video. I lived in Conyngham 83/84 and have very fond memories of this park when I was a kid.

this video is fascinating; the fact that you have a video of a roller coaster ride is amazing by itself.

Lol and back then I was carrying a full size camcorder on my shoulder. Cell phones just made calls back then

Was the coaster saved or razed?

You can still see the foundations from many rides on Google satellite as well as make out the turnpike car course. Sad to have lost a lot of small parks like this. There is an identical clone of the wood coaster in Columbus Ohio at the zoo (formerly Wyandot Lake park). Same design and opened the same year (1956). Both coasters can be found on rcdb.com

Angela should have survived but due to a “shady” local bank, the New Owners never stood a chance. It was a great little park that deserved a better fate!

Did Knoebels obtain most/all of the rides from this park?

It's a shame, by 87 the park was already starting to show signs of disrepair and demise. I do remember going there at that point and knowing the end was near.

Sounds about right. The swinging pirate ship ride was not installed until after Mirthmaster Corp. bought the place and ran it into the ground. The building where the guy is shooting the air ball guns was originally "The Hoagie Shop" at the foot of the coaster. It was eventually closed for lack of popularity and sat idle as an abandoned building for quite a few years. Around 1973, it was converted into Jackie Barletta's private office. I helped the contractor do a lot of the clean up in the abandoned structure, repair of some broken cinder block work, furring out the inside walls for wood paneling (which you can still see in this video), and final installation of plush carpetting and electronic security system. So sad to see this historic gem lost as well as all of my good friends from the Barletta family! :(

Hello, I am currently working on a documentary about Angela Park. Video footage of the park is rare. Would it be okay if I could use this footage for the documentary. You will be listed in the credits for your contribution and receive a copy of the documentary on DVD. Please let me know.

What was the name of the ride with the "cars" that were way up high, and went around the park. I remember riding them. It would go all around the park way up high. It was wonderful. All the cars were different colors.
