Great review! I am usually a Les Paul player and I wanted something different for other textures and a vibrato. I just bought a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster and installed bright caps in both the lead and rhythm circuits. Then I removed the tone control from the rhythm circuit. It makes me able to use it as my LP through my one channel with overdrive amp; dialed down neck pickup for clean and semi clean and with the flick of a switch, I have got full volume in the lead circuit. Or any combination thereof.

How would you compare the benson preamp with the origin 61 deluxe?

I love JLJ's playing and humbleness. That quilter sounds too 80's casio keyboard for me tho. Jay made it sound as good as it can...

Great video as always!! I was wondering how similar are the Greer Sure Shot and a Klon? I guess you can get pretty close with the Klon keeping the gain knob low but I have no direct experience. What do you think?

Great tones- except for AC/DC- that’s a horrid approximation of that sound.

I don't care how a guitar plays if I don't like how it looks and I have never liked the looks of a PRS. It's like an ugly woman with a great personality. We can be friends but we ain't gettin married.

Good playing, but the pedal sucks. The latency is way too noticeable.

Criminally underrated video! Phenomenal playing Jay. I mainly use a Line 6 Hx Stomp these days, even though I build tube amps.😮

I notice you have reviewed the JHS Panther Cub in the past too. I'm wondering how do you think they compare (since they both have the same chip, both are digitally-controlled analog pedals, both gave the FX loop, etc...). Extra features aside, my impressions (from listening) are the Panther is more ragged and aggressive, more ideal for rhythmic delay while the Vapor Trail is darker, smoother, more fluid, more atmospheric sounding. I'm not going to lie, I kind of want the Panther Cub because it's a Panther!...but I mostly use delay for atmospheric lead settings. Since you've actually played both these pedals I'm wondering if you had a similar impression to me or if you experienced them differently.

What a great demo and your playing…outstanding my friend, as always. You’ll have to excuse my ignorance on this question. I’m from the old school, started playing way back in 1969, I was 14. Is I grew as a player in bands I simply had a couple of pedals and plugged right into my Marshall. Now I’ve retired and started playing again and have a Kantana MKII. Is there an output to plug this unit into the power amp plug on the rear of the Kantana? I’m not sure how plugging this into my laptop is going to give me the sounds I want at home or if I’m jamming with friends. Thanks for your time. Again, great playing and demo..!

That is a beautiful strat; the only red that matters. Sick playing as always,- the expression pedal interlude was truly inspirational. The verb and trem sections both sound great, - it's almost there with some of the digital sims, - Strymon, of course, but I think it's humble Source Audio that first bagged the Spring and Trem in that format.I could do with fewer options on this , but I suppose the appeal is to multi genre applications. I do some broad crossover, yet I'd almost prefer another pedal to multi functions.Keeley are staying in the game, which is good to see from one of the initial groundbreakers.

Feel and / or tone If you can feel the latency of digital solutions under the fingers regardlesss if you can hear it Then these solutions are literally direct. I love the feel of the DSM simplifier X as a practice solution . I hope to get to compare the quilter soon. Less tonal options in direct amps but sometimes that’s a good thing.

I have Tube bass and guitar amps, and a couple of solid state, because I dont hate on solid state, I love it theres so much to love. But they collect dust these days, with Amplitube Max, and Tonex max, and my Boss GTCore.. I just dont find myself using them much anymore. If I do I find myself using, my JC120 or 40. And DI the bass. Im not competing with other amps, and other guitar players now. Just playing for the song. It has became my go to amp. And I have set up all my amp sims, to be JC120. No matter what situation. VST , Pedal, or physical amp. Its always my amp, my sound. Bass has just been DI recently. Blended with some B15 sometimes. Thats it man.
