Basic interpretation, very little light and shade and no real emotion. Listen to Tino Rossi's recording of this from the '50s and there's no comparison. Rossi has all the subtlety, intimacy, articulation, phrasing and beauty of tone that this guy lacks.

Vinke went on to sing Siegfried quite successfully at the Met in 2019. He interpolated a high C at the end of Siegfried after an incredibly youthful, strong, and generous performance. No one complained!

Спасибо за видео. Баритон хороший. Бланш недотягивает все верха, нет низа, в середине неплохо, но напевает, не поет на опоре (а она есть у нее вообще? В Пезаро в 2023 году ее Зенобия, как Вы помните, была великолепна) - возможно, так требует эта партия Оскара. Она меня расстраивает своим браком в вокале, имея отличный голос

Certainly last year, when the Schwarz Ring was scheduled four times, not all tickets were sold. This year with only two times if they sold out a few months ago. In fact, right now you can only buy a few tickets for one performance of Holländer and one for Parsifal. But it must be said that precisely those of this Tannhäuser have been the first to sell out every year.

This is presumably Robert Carsen's (sorry: Claus Guth's) production in Madrid. I am curious, though, how the photographer should have achieved such good sound (with Oropesa's glorious voice) while filming from such an odd angle, from low down in the wings.

The production is by Claus Guth and the performance was at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The scenography had two levels, and the ground floor seats were not the ideal place to see the higher level. The sound is the natural sound of the theater's acoustics.

I will never forget seeing/hearing this in the ROH on opening night in May. It was the most magical experience of my life. They absolutely brought the house down with this Act 2 duet "Ora soave sublime ora d'amore." Sondra Radvanovsky was so beautiful and was a perfect Maddalena. But, oh my God, Jonas Kaufmann was just breathtaking. A recording really doesn't do him justice. His voice was warm and powerful and his top notes were stunning. He was Andrea Chénier with every fibre of his being. The role belongs to him. He was magnificent and I will never forget hearing him sing live. ❤

Lise filled the room but we heard the tenor well. It should be noted that Lise was very close to the microphone and this fact amplified her already powerful voice even more. Hilley sang the beginning of the piece "Winterstürme wichen dem Wonnemond" on the piano and it can be heard well, right?

Низкий поклон автору канала за важную работу! Послушал несколько раз, но ни одной хорошей ноты у тенора так и не нашел - всё на горле. У Дэвидсен хороший тембр (2:53, 2:59), и я не теряю надежды, что однажды она встретит хорошего коуча, который ее научит петь на уровне, соответствующем богатой природе ее голоса

Очень странное качество записи - оркестр тоже выхолощено звучит. Тенор этот был великолепным Зигфридом пару лет назад, а тут я его не узнал, если честно - очень обедненный звук. Или неудачная запись, или неудачное исполнение.

@@operarally4365 Это нисколько не умаляет Вашей святости. И потом в зале всегда другой звук за счет реверберации. Много слушал всего десятки лет в зале и на записи и могу сделать вывод в целом о том, что на записи все недостатки голоса вылезают, если это живой звук, а не студийный вариант

The concert was supposed to contain extra bonus arias by Strauss and Wagner, but they were omitted due to time constraints. I don't know which arias those were supposed to be. But maybe ignorance is bliss in this case. Anyway, the concert was very good. Lise Davidsen had a very powerful voice, a very thick column of sound. It had beauty but I wonder if she can sing intimately. The acoustics in the hall weren't great for voice carrying. Clay Hilley gave a thrilling performance. He gave good wälse cries!
