turning aka firing a mag with out a load aka spark plug is bad news as its hard on the coil as the spark is looking for a ground

@@slowshop ya my writing sucks . way back in 1968 my dad helped out a guy that had a sprint car . i would go with him and being a bored 10 year old i would get in to things . this one time i was playing with one of his vertex mags . i was spinning the drive gear around . i was told . don't do that . there is no load aka spark plugs that have a .045 gap to jump and with out them the voltage is looking for a path to ground and will rupture / short out the coil . that's what i was told some 55 years ago .

From what I understand about paint prep, which is pretty minimal if we’re being honest 😂…if you’re shooting an etch primer, that little bit of “shadowing” isn’t going to cause any issues. And you should be shooting an etch primer over bare metal, anyway. I think the only exception is a sandblasted surface, which has a lot of “tooth”, and in that case you could use an epoxy primer instead, but typically you want to apply that immediately after blasting.
@slowshop
@slowshop 14 күн бұрын
By prep I mean "prep". We all know I'm just going to spray this one black without etch primer. 😉 But I'm going over every surface with sand paper to get the paint to grab good.
@crazycaseyscustoms
@crazycaseyscustoms 14 күн бұрын
I used etch primer on mine, @@slowshop. I used a SEM product in a can, followed up with Rustoleum (alkyd enamel) while the etch primer was still tacky. Case of 6 for about $120 did the whole car, and it has held up really well to being moved around so much.

Häftigt! Glöm inte att smörja spindeln med någon lämpligt spindelolja, annars riskerar du att förstöra spindellagren. Det ser ut att sitta smörjoljekoppar uppe på gjutningen avsedda för detta ändamål. 😊👍

0:36, Yes, Martin, the legs, and the Ways. The Ways, are where the Head Stock (Spindle, Drive pulley, and Chuck), Carriage, and Tail Stock are mounted onto. The Carriage and Tail Stock can be moved on the Ways to allow the machining of parts you're working on. The Ways have one flat surface on the back and the other is a 90 degree V. I've never seen a Lathe that didn't have a Carriage that could be power, or hand feed. The Lathe you have is not able to cut threads because of the type carriage it was built with. But as I said on your other channel a Lathe is better than no Lathe. I'm hoping in the future you can get a more versatile Lathe.
