Tim, What is the purpose of the two slits in the PC board Ties? Wouldn't one slit work just as well? Is Fast Tracks putting the slits in?
@Tuckaway6 ай бұрын
Amazing, I watched you make that, I never realised it would work as it's so simple.

Looks like that could work well as a spring switch

You used to cut custom sizes or large scale lumber. Now you don't, shame. I was a big custimer, even going as far as supplying you with building plans. Now I can't get from you the lumber I need for architectural models. You sold out and went to hell.

Paper clip installation for me, too. I was skeptical, but it works great! Thanks for posting! Whether you use piano wire or paper clips, if your spring tends to come out of the holes, especially in plastic ties, put a VERY slight bend away from the center in both the downward facing stubs that fit into the drilled holes.

Excellent description on how to build the crossing. Thank you. How do you weather or stain the ties?

I'm after an HO and O (dual gauge) crossing. That is HO one and O the other. Could I make one of those with your kit? thanks

What size wire and hole would you drill for the N Scale fast tracks turnout...?

Great video. I used 0.032" piano wire and converted 5 g scale turnouts that were already ground installed, while kneeling in snow. Took one 12" piece and 20 minutes. Thanks much

I have several Micro Engineering turnouts that have either lost their springs, or don’t hold position. This mechanism would have saved me a lot of money on my switching layout.

I bought a pair of these for my O scale layout (Code 148). I will definitely be ordering some Code 125 ones as well for when I build hards and branchlines

you can expand this into traction rails too, single point turnouts and curved crossings which are not easy to come by at all.

The problem I seem to have is bending the diverging route rail. After bending, it tends to twist the rail. (HOn3 70) The rail at the point end then wants to lift out of the fixture making soldering the throw bar tie more difficult than it should be. Any advice on pre-bending the rail without the twist?

This weller wp series is the best they have released on the market I have 3 wp35 one of them has been with me for more than 15 years and it still works as if it were its first day with this soldering iron with up to number 10 soldering iron without any problem it is a soldering iron that if you know how to take care of it, it lasts a lifetime.
@lawrencejneuser88013 жыл бұрын
You need to come up with a lift for the barrels so you don't throw out your back you're not getting any younger. You got all the other stuff that's automated. That's something you ought to think about.

the rail sets are not properly matched in this image. the truck has one wheel each on a different set of track. the longer you look at this the more cursed this is.
