No activities for us. Always going for the location and stuff to do around there.

We are in our mid sixties. Leisure and a good camp store and seeing some worthwhile things we both like fits the bill. We like sitting in one place for at least 5 days. Works good.

When we camped with our children, they were happy with a pool and they brought their bikes and favorite activities. When we camped with two other families, we moms would make up a scavenger hunt for the kids to look for certain items around the campground and we would play bingo with them with prizes from the Dollar Tree that they loved.

When we were seasonal at a campground in the late 70s, early 80s, the campground had Saturday night "hayrides" and Bingo that we did. When we camped with our children from 2007-2011, I really can't remember doing any activities or whether the campgrounds offered any. When we go FT in a few years, I can see us participating in simple activities such as a bonfire or potluck but we probably wouldn't choose a place based on the activities.

No activities when it’s just the two of us but we would look for them when we take the grandkids.

The only ones that interested me, community campfire, and music entertainment. I would absolutely use a lazy river pool! Other than that camping is for kicking back and leisurely walks. 😊

Activities were more important when our adult children were younger and would bring friends camping with us. However, now that it's just the two of us they aren't important at all, and could sometimes be a deterrent if we feel like the activities will make the campground loud and rowdy.

I base where I book on if there is at least electric and pull through sites available. I just like to hang with my dogs and go sightseeing.

Retirees here…we are looking for well spaced sites, shade, FHU, peace and quiet, maybe a fenced dog park. No activities needed. As far as online reservations…they often don’t have a place to put in your discount options. We have Good Sam and hubby is a Veteran. So either I call to make sure I get the discount or add a note in the online reservation requesting a refund at checkin. Keep the videos and podcasts coming! Always enjoyable!

None needed for me. I might listen to music or bonfire if it’s available, but my stay certainly wouldn’t be based on the availability of it.

You do you. We've just taken early retirement (end of April) after selling our house. Our rig is much smaller, so we had to downsize a lot, but have since the beginning of May been full-time on the road. It took a lot of research over the last few years as to what it would entail, especially financially. We have not regretted it one little bit. We know what you mean when you talk about losing family members and thinking about what the future holds for you. Live life now!

I like them, Pigeon Forge is questionable, not as clean as it should be, but getting better. And the management did call me back.

The Auburndale, FL location is basically a big crowded parking lot with no shade trees or views. I imagine it’s extremely hot after May so it may be great for a Winter trip. I want to go to Lake Lanier in GA and to the Poconos when it’s done.

Dog park comment: I don’t keep my dog in the park if others want to come in. Don’t want to take a chance of a dog fight. My dogs are friendly but never know about other dogs. Too many horror stories.

We essentially did the same thing. We bought our first RV, a Class C, in May of 2022 and traveled as vacationers in it for 2 years. Then in October of last year (2023), we decided to go full-time. Cheryl retired and got a remote professor position, so I could keep insurance as we have similar age-related issues. We took 9 months to sell the sticks and bricks and prep to move. We sold the class C, and yes I too lost💰on that deal, but I sold it privately to some friends who saw its value thanks to all the upgrades we made to it, and lost much less💸than we would have trading it in today's used market. We now have our new 45' RiverStone fifth wheel and have started our full-time life! The adventure begins. Haters gonna hate you because they ain't you, right? You guys have to do what's best for you, so congrats, and enjoy your new adventures!

Have you noticed a lot of big so called rv channels don’t talk about the rv problems like Matt’s rv review , Will and Jen , less junk more journey , kyd , big truck big rv , 2 crazy campers , I could name a ton more !! I feel like they’ve been bought off or under the table deals to stay quiet! You both seem like you keep it real and honest !!!

We just had a $15,000 repairs because our electrical blew on our 2023 Newmar Dutch Star -3 months out of our 1 year warranty-We have had numerous problems over the year we have owned this -Yes it ruined our vacation and Newmar said “Pound Sand you are out of warranty” 🤯 We did have an extended warranty and this repair job exceeded what we paid for the warranty-We won’t ever buy another RV/Motorhome ever again-We will travel by car renting hotels and airb&b -A heck of a lot easier and I believe cheaper 🤷‍♀️⭐️🚌

Just completed a 2 week trip on Rte 66 with 15 other girl campers and everyone but me had significant RV issues necessitating technician visits and one of the rigs had to turn back half way through because of a dangerous frame problem.

Your rant is good for us, too! I know two people who have had their NuCamp in the shop more than they’ve owned it, even though, one of them also had the roof replaced from hail damage at last year’s UCamp. I’m so happy I didn’t go! They offered a boon dock spot and those in that area were really pelted!! At least, NuCamp is great with fixing things as soon as they can. And most issues are not about how badly they are built. I love my TAB 400! Wingman Wisdom, on You Tube, has had lawyers on to help people out. You should hear him rant! I’m sad for your uncle and Aunt. 😢 it’s worse than having to cancel a trip for health issues! That’s a valid reason, but issues of poor parts or assembly of rv’s is totally unjustified! I agree with your point about being in their 70’s. I’m thinking the same way, now that I’m 73. I started crying when I heard that gas could go back up to $4-$5 gallon, this summer! I don’t have many years left to enjoy my dream of traveling. Especially when I heard why gas is going up and also knowing “he” could open up our oil production “he” closed down on “his” first day in office! We could be back to $1.87 gal if our own production lines were back open!! 😡 I haven’t been so frustrated with the way things are, since I was 5 years old and my dad wouldn’t let me drive the neighbors co-cart!!! Hey…,I think all you listeners should tell us about a similar disappointment they had, as a little kid! “Compare your frustration of your broken camper with your biggest disappointment as a kid” … I’ll start… I haven’t been as angry with my broken camper since the day my mom bought me my first bra (for my birthday!) and it was flat! 🤣😂🤣😂 (It had that stretchy material and the label said.. “ Enjoy your first bra!! It’s one every young girl can grow into!!” 😂😂😂 okay, it’s time for me to get busy!! Bye!!

Sad topic for sure. Even our 19 coachman apex had just a few issues, and I got the extended warranty. But the workmenship to remake the repairs was worse than what I could do with a blindfold. Another sad factor is that you want to buy American made product, but if this is the best they can do, it’s like there’s no pride in their workmanship.

When people say they don’t want regulations, then they lose $100k in an unregulated industry (RV manufacturing), do they change their minds about regulations? Or do they just want to regulate the things that affect the personally? The RV industry is in a really bad place right now. I wonder how it will shake out. Class action lawsuit for all poor quality control RV manufacturers? A lot of people are complaining! Still luckily have my 2022 lance. It was built right before/as the shortages were starting. Minor setbacks as a result. Still not horribly breaking. Thanking my lucky stars!

Thank you for bringing this forward. I have been saying this for years but each time I get screamed at. However if things aren’t regulated then companies will take advantage of this and we the consumer will get the bad end of the deal for sure.

So far I have had to campers, a KZ and a Jayco. They were/are lower cost units but I haven't had any issues. On the KZ the dealer had to replace a few screws on the rock guard and on the Jayco I had to replace a side marker light. I've been lucky but, as you may remember, I avoid slides. Sorry your Aunt & Uncle couldn't make it. Good topic.
