Thats not the issue, its a prestrung line, the first one worked great then all a sudden it threw line EVERYWHERE. So came it, grabbed another, put the spoil in, amd this one is doing it. Its not the spoil, its the effen weedeater. Im so annoyed.

Where can I buy the link connector pins? My 1990 ladies link watch is still beautiful, but I've lost one of the friction pins. thank you for your help
@heyitsjosh
@heyitsjosh 17 күн бұрын
I would say the best way to do this would be to call an authorized TAG dealer and give them your bracelet model number and order one link. I don't think TAG would sell just the pin, but instead a replacement link with the pin. Alternatively, you could determine the bracelet # and search Ebay for said link/pin combo. However, the 90's wasn't the TAG LINK, it was the S/el model (standing for "Sports/Elegance), and the S/el bracelet requires a special tool to add/remove links. If you can take apart the links, then it's a LINK and this can easily be done by you, but if it's a S/el version, you're unable to add/subtract links without that special tool.

Exactly the same for me. I remember that first reading well even now, 30 years later. It was grade 11 English and the day before the Xmas break. Maybe just to kill time, the teacher gave us an optional reading list of 10 short stories for that day's class. We had to read one of them in that period. Obviously I got lucky by choosing it, but the title certainly has its intrinsic intrigue, so I chose "The Most Dangerous Game" and I've been thankful I chose that one ever since!

My old weed eater finally was replaced after many years. After replacing the spool the first time as soon as I press the button the line will retract back into the spool. I take it apart and feed line out and don't even get it back to the ground and its retracted. Not even a second of line and never touched anything. Could it be that its wound backwards? Never had this issue with previous weed eater
@heyitsjosh
@heyitsjosh 29 күн бұрын
I would say that it doesn't hurt to try to wrap in the other direction. The direction of wrapping should be indicated on the spool. Also, consider leaving more line on the outside of the spool at the onset. If you only have 1-2cm sticking out, maybe it's inclined to retract back into the spool.
@brokenbravo83

Im leaving enough that its getting hit by the cutter so I can't leave any more out. I used a black sharpie to mark how much was out and its definitely retracting and not breaking off. I miss my old weed eater with the two lines sticking out

Yeah, I never learned as a kid not to rip! Argh! All kids should be taught how to properly cut their nails (eg. not too short!) and this would solve many ingrown nail problems. I still chuckle to myself that as a teenager my doctor's advice to solve the problem was to bathe in epsom salts, and that did absolutely nothing, but nowadays that I'm middle aged, I love bathing in Himalayan salt, but definitely not for toenails lol!

@@bridgettstephens5582there should be 2 sides on the file, and one side has grooves running in 2 directions. The other side only has grooves running one way. @heyitsjosh
@heyitsjosh 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the nice comment! Don't wrap/wind the line too tightly/firmly around the spool when re-wrapping it, or else, as you say, it will "melt itself on the spool." I have never used the blade head, but have when I was younger for thick underbrush, such as bulrushes or excessively thick and high weeds. I remember it cut through easily but the long grass has a tendency to wrap around the spinning head and jam the unit. I have never used the blades with "already cut" or "maintained" grass. Those blades are super small in diameter also, in comparison with the line/cord, so I prefer the longer diameter of cut with the cord, for easy jobs around the house, which is how I currently use my Ryobis.

As I was considering it, I emailed Sole Premise, and they replied that they would adjust the value for customs purposes, but I haven't tried this yet. So my suggestion would be to email the company just before purchase to indicate your hope/intention and then they should be able to handle your order individually and adjust the stated value.

I have _loads_ of questions and requests for clarification . Buckle up... 1. Rainsford suggests Ship-Trap Island has cannibaIs. Whitney says hardly. Even they wouldn't live in the place. I don't understand his answer. 2. Rainsford barely/briefly choked and was immediately able to swim with his lungs suddenly fine?? "The cry was pinched off short as the blood-warm waters of the Caribbean Sea dosed over his head. He struggled up to the surface and tried to cry out, but the wash from the speeding yacht slapped him in the face and the salt water in his open mouth made him gag and strangle. Desperately he struck out with strong strokes after the receding lights of the yacht, but he stopped before he had swum fifty feet. A certain coolheadedness had come to him; it was not the first time he had been in a tight place." 3. Is the narrator talking about Rainsford on cliffs the whole time? If so, then wouldn't Rainsford be too high to be "Along the shore"? Here's the full reference: "An unbroken front of snarled and ragged jungle fringed the shore. He saw no sign of a trail through the closely knit web of weeds and trees; it was easier to go along the shore, and Rainsford floundered along by the water. Not far from where he landed, he stopped." and "the print of hunting boots. They pointed along the cliff in the direction he had been going. Eagerly he hurried along, now slipping on a rotten log or a loose stone, but making headway;" 4. Zaroff has a "spare dark face" and the narrator calls it brown later. What is Zaroff's race? He belittled black, white, and mixed-raced people; is he a hypocrite here? 5. If Zaroff bought the island and orders imported champagne, do his clients know about the island's reputation? Wouldn't they report the man suspiciously on the suspicious island. 6. "I went into the army--it was expected of noblemen's sons--and for a time commanded a division of Cossack cavalry, but my real interest was always the hunt." But what does hunting big-game have to do with the army? 7. Zaroff said the "giant rocks with razor edges crouch like a sea monster with wide-open jaws." Doesn't "crouch" imply the rocky shore "moves" to crush the ships? And besides, wouldn't the sailors see the big rocky shore as the ship approaches? 8. I don't understand what Zaroff is saying. ""I don't wish you to think me a braggart, Mr. Rainsford. Many of them afford only the most elementary sort of problem. Occasionally I strike a tartar." 9. Is the dog courtyard directly outside Zaroff's chateau? There's a view of it from the dining room, Rainsford's room, and Zaroff's room. Narrator didn't say Rainsford saw the place from outside the building. 10. How far do you guys think the mainland/town Zaroff mentioned is from his island? He said Rainsford would take a sloop (and agree to keep the island visit a secret).

@@heyitsjosh Personal questions. I'm a very curious guy.
@heyitsjosh
@heyitsjosh 19 күн бұрын
@@johnrainsman6650 1. I think there’s a motif of, “The American” as sophisticated and the Russian as “Savage” in this story. Zaroff killed his first bear in the Caucasus, in the story, and I wonder if this is a play on “Caucasian.” I think Whitney is assuming that such savagery wouldn’t be in the Western hemisphere. This also foreshadows the story, as the story never mentions what happens to the dead humans after they’ve been hunted. 2. This also foreshadows his struggle against Zaroff, except nature is a much more domineering foe. This also foreshadows the suspense device that is used throughout the story. 3. The imagery I get here is large rock crags along the shoreline that are overgrown with flora. Because the jungle is so dense, it’s just easier to follow the shoreline even though it’s rugged. 4. Great question! Based on this question, which I never thought of before, I think Zaroff is Russian but not of Slavic descent. He states he’s a Cossack, but could be “non-Caucasian”. He berates and has left his old homeland, so is semi-nomadic maybe? I would say he’s a hypocrite throughout the story, trying to be sophisticated while killing people. 5. Not sure. When Rainsford asks what will happen if Rainsford wins, Zaroff states that he will drop Rainsford off on the mainland near a town, so maybe that’s where the the imports come and his servants pick up the commodities there. 6. I just read this as a continuation of a war, meaning that, like pirates in the Golden Age, for example, after a war is over, the fighting mentality doesn’t stop. For example, after a war, when Privateering wasn’t needed any more, pirates still pirated even though they weren’t sanctioned by a government any longer. I just read this in the story as an “unfinished business” within Zaroff. Maybe it also speaks to the fighting spirit of his people or political ideology as the Russian revolution and World War 1 had recently occurred. 7. I’m thinking here that the giant rocks are barely out of the water, but are massive, and encircle the passage/channel of the water, so that ships will hit one or another, but almost like they cannot escape. I’m sure that during the day ships would see these rocks, but during the night, they’re well hidden. 8. I think tartar must be a “good opponent” or a worthy enemy that’s better than the regular dregs. Also, “Tatar” and tartar used to be spelled interchangeably, and Tatars, for instance used to live on the Crimean peninsula at this time. So maybe Tatar is used as a reference to a “valiant fighter.” 9. I read this as there’s a courtyard somewhere just off the main chateau that houses the dogs, so they are easily accessible. 10. Not sure. Fairly close, but still far enough away to remain undetected. This “I will drop you off but you can’t say anything” is the only weak point in the story, but it hadn’t happened yet as Zaroff hadn’t lost a hunt yet, so it’s understandably vague in this way. I hope that answers these awesome questions. It’s just my interpretation, so could be completely wrong too. Best,
