The fact that the Gerber is skelotonized makes the knife seem less durable. Also some people had the tip break off of their Gerber knives.

The first knife that I bought for myself was the launch 11, and I have absolutely loved it. I'm looking to get a new knife soon though, and I'm having trouble deciding between the launch 8, which I absolutely love, or the Bel Air which comes with a Magnacut blade.

My grandfather had two of the predecessor to this for some 40 years. One in the kitchen and one in the work shop. When he moved to a smaller home and only needed one a fight broke out over the spare one!

“An impressive 650 lumens” Say what? An impressive 650 lumens? Nah, we all know that’s not impressive. Especially for its size, I could list countless lights of the same size or even ones that are considerably smaller that blow that out of the water. That’s just a rediculous statement. “And is tough enough to endure drops and impact”. My guy, it’s 2024. Every single light that a person would conceivably consider as a tactical or EDC light on the market today can “endure drops and impact”. “The reversible clip” Oh well, I didn’t know it had a reversible clip. 90% of lights under consideration for this category will have this “dynamic” feature. I guess as a knife collector and flashlight collector I’ve grown numb to the obligatory hyperbole thrown at me for the most pedestrian and expected features. “This one is a fantastic tactical option because it has an advanced battery cap on the end which retains the battery within the body of the light itself thus preventing it from falling out in the most rough and tumble tactical situations ensuring you will always have a battery inside your light when you need it most.” You may be enticing casuals or newbs who are still learning but those of us who include Blade HQ in our daily knife searches feel the sales pitch in your vibe and it’s not endearing. I still love you blade HQ, I just pay less and less attention to you when you say things that aren’t things about things I wanna know things about.

That knife from buds is a terrible dive knife. It damn near rusts if it’s even near the ocean. It’s issued because students have to clean and sharpen it basically every night.

Too expensive. Got a counterfeit OTF knockoff of some fancy brand 2 years ago for $45, still going strong as my EDC. Can replace every part in it, can swap blades, change the scales. Paying these premium prices is crazy.

Made in Michigan is what is finally convincing me to buy White River. Gotta support the amazing people in my own state. I'm planning on making the Urus 45 my main outdoors knife. I'm not a hardcore woodsman so it should last multiple lifetimes. The new slipjoint looks like a contender as a new gentlemen folder for me as well. Love White River as a company, can't wait to own some of their stuff for myself.

Be careful using that Reate Exo-U. The blade pops out super easy with very little pressure while cutting. I believe it's due to the butterfly clip that holds it in place. Has anyone here ever experienced this issue? It happened to me twice yesterday while using it.
