I think Trek Roscoe 8 is the best hardtail for the most riders in 2024.

I found a used 2016 escape 3 at a LBS for 299 in great shape. The 2024 is 550. Is the 2024 model worth the extra 250?

Just bought this his exact color and year bike for $250. Almost new condition and even came with a super bright rear rechargeable light which I needed anyway. My first drop style road bike. I own a Cannondale Quick 2019 as well with flat bars.

Shitty bike really. Maxxis tires? Plus, nobody uses 27.5 inch tires anymore. Even the brakes are not that good

How does this compare to the vitus nucleus hard tail
@bendenisereedy78654 күн бұрын
9.64 kgs is about 1 kg heavier than my SL7 with mechanical Ultegra. I'd be more interested in knowing the weight of those wheels and tyres and how the SL8 rides compared with the SL7 - no differently, I guess.

Im 49. Looking for my first road bike where I can finally catch up to some roadies in my area. Would this Roubaix be good or an Allez be better? I like to ride a lot and go fast.
@bendenisereedy78654 күн бұрын
Allez is an excellent bike and a great advertisement for quality alloy frames. It has the same geometry as a Tarmac so will be a fantastic ride but be honest - at your age do you want a racy riding position? You should be aiming for enjoyable, quality rides rather than all-out speed. Roubaix is superbly comfortable even over a 100 mile endurance event.
@jessa.38574 күн бұрын
@@bendenisereedy7865 That's exactly what I was thinking. I guess I wanted to see if the Allez might be as comfortable as the Roubaix but lighter, lol. Thank you for your reply!

Good video. Thanks. I subscribed and liked. Is the Chisel considered to be a classic UCI XCO race geometry? Similar to the Epic or even the S-Works Epic. I am looking for an AL affordable UCI XCO light hardtail. When you refer to the Chisel being XC trail do you mean XCO MTB angle? For a small framesize, (my size) is the wheelsize 27.5 (i prefer) and not a 29er?

Hello great info, pushed me towards the FX 5 and I am proably buying today after my second look. I want to swap out the wheels and put on my Roval/DT Swiss Carbons. The shop explained the end caps and sure enough I came to your site for info and see you have done this. Any issues with these end caps, they perform as expected? Thanks, great site!

The tips at 1:27 in particular were very helpful in sorting some random creaks in my EX7 Gen6 suspension. I had pulled apart the bottom bracket and seat post to clean/grease but had a random creak under heavy suspension load while pedalling and could not locate it. That pedal suspension side loading test at 1:27 showed up the creak very nicely. After going though all the rear suspension bearings/spacers/washers it's quiet as a mouse now. The creak was coming from the lower pivot bearing assembly, which requires removing the crank...something you did not cover. That said, it's a quick job to remove the crank and pull that lower bolt. Thanks again for this excellent video!

Largely agree with your assessment. If I keep it mostly in ECO, saving mid and turbo for the bigger hills, I can get the stated 35 mile range. If you use turbo a lot, you'll chop that range down by quite a bit. I hook up my old phone to the handlebars and use the Trek Central app where I can get a visual display of the assist level setting and estimated miles left at that setting. Agree with below comment, I wish rack was wider, also on a minor gripe the plastic adjust piece on the end of the kickstand is cheesy and doesn't really stayed locked into position well. Got caught in a pretty good downpour with wet roads after and bike held up well.

Thank you, great video! I originally wanted to get rid of the sound somehow but when I saw some ppl find it calming, I decided I'll do my best to make it calming for me too since it's supposed to happen, and there's really no way around it. I like the free feeling of riding so I'll connect that sound to it😊
