Col. Hackworth despised the political leadership that cut corners and endangered our troops with their incompetence. He emerged as a member of the Press Corps as W. Bush/ Cheney/Rumsfeld rushed us into Iraq and Afghanistan. Young NCOs and Officers that knew him from the Vietnam War were by then, senior officers and recognized him as an esteemed colleague that they could confide in. He exposed the W. Bush Administration's malfeasance as only a solid veteran could. I heard that his cancer death was suspected to have been caused by his exposure to agent orange defolients used in Vietnam. RIP soldier. Well done. 🫡

Admiral Boorda was a good man and great CNO , who , like Hackworth, got in early and moved up the ranks, and was very good with the rank- and file sailors, the petty ness Hackworth did to adm Boorda was proven wrong, and Boorda s suicide was a direct result of Hackworth s wrongdoing
