The difference in dialect is so subtle here I am having trouble picking it up even though I am replaying it over and over! But it's really cool that Kaji-san and Yamashita-san can tell the difference so easily! I learned Japanese in school, but I did not realise there was a difference in pitch from start to finish in words! Love how educational this is!

As both a Native Japanese and English Speaker, I think it’s so cute and hilarious that Deku’s Japanese VA thought that the English “pronunciation”of “Plus Ultra” sounded shorter, and closer to “Pasuta” (which sort of sounds like Pasta wwwww) because that’s basically what katakana pronunciation of foreign/English words, it’s just English with added syllable XD
