Professor Cameron, thank you very much for your time and efforts to provide these tutorials. Do you have a tutorial to take this part in this tutorial or any other with Ref G54, vise #1, to the second operation, G55 or vise #2, to face off the bottom and finish with a deburr op? I'm not sure if I'm looking for a 2nd mill oper, a sub routine, or a G52. Essentially, every time I open the door I'm loading a blank and unloading a finished part. Thank you.

is there a way to have the end mill do downward-upward direction instead of horizontal on the z-level operation ?

Im trying to "extract machinable features" and it doesnt extract machinable operations; it stays the same. Any suggestions ?

very good info but unsure why you deleted the second corner clean up rough mill at 19:00 especially when other times you always deleted the contour mills. Was beginning to think contour mills were just glitched and you instantly bin them.

Thank you very much for the realy good video for beginner. I have maybe a stupid question. My homemade router is equiped with a 2kW spindle where I cannot go under 9000 rpm. (Its written that I can damage the spindle when I do so) This means that I cannot cut most of the material because the minimum speed is too high ?

Hi, don't know if you're still responding to comments as the video is 3 yrs old, but I'm kind of running out of options and resources. My issue is even after checking the box labeled "use tools from tool crib only", after doing the extract machinable features then go to generate tool path it will still pick tools that I don't have in my tool crib and put them in the program. I'm new at using Solidworks cam feature and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Josh Fodstad

I'm glad that i found this page. i'm new with Solidworks and i tend to learn more on videos compared to reading. i'm having a hard time with other channels due to Audios or Accents that the creator has. Thanks for this!

I think you need to re think your speeds&feeds / cutting strategy. 30mins to cut these solf jaws out of I'm assuming aluminium is way too long. This could easily be dropped to below 5mins

Вам там не надоело при работе с другими странами всё в мм переводить и обратно???? Неужели в штатах и инженеры на столько твердолобые, что будут всю жизнь работать в дюймах когда большая часть мира работает в нормальной метрической системе?

Creating impssible tto machine parts is why I adopted a style of extruding a blank piece of stock and making cuts instead of extrudes.

Just one question I'm looking for answer... 8:37 you show us text file with gcode. And in the fourth row we see G91 G28 X0 Y0 Z0 which means that the machine is going to moove to zero positions of all axis. Which are in the one of the corners of your part. So.... The tool will slightly touch the stok. But if the stock would be higher than part - the tool will hit the stock. I mean it. And if we look to the next lesson of your video course - you do this. You setting up the stock for 0,1 higher (Z axe). I would be very appreciated if you can explain how to avoid this issue. Thank you.

One day spent to think about my question... It seems I was wrong with my understanding of basic machining. I mean I have diy milling machine. DIY means - it is in permanent upgrade/mod state. :-))) One of this mods is Z-endstop bracket modification. It means - I'm working without Z-endstop :-))))) ....so... Machine coordinates are ... not completely accurate for every homing routine :-)))) I think that's why my question is. Will find it out :-)
