As i'm going to main a frost mage, I'm really tempted to max out tailoring cloth drops and uncommon Item disenchanting first and just AoE farming to my hearts content. IIRC, the only craftable uncommon gear will be tools and they're kind of expensive. The unintended consequence is that HQ dust may be some of the more sought after drops

Great video :D I came back back mid DF and did not touch Profs at all haha. Is there any negative by not picking up the gathering profession tied to either Blacksmithing, Leatherworking etc.? Like is it smart to just go BS/Alch if you can afford to buy the mats? I know probably at the start you want the gathering, I was just curious for down the line.

You rated BS higher because of profession tools. Engi does twice the amount of profession tools but it seems like people don't care about them the same way (?)

engineers also have an actual shuffle i thought, not just rummaging for the mount parts? Also potion bombs are bis for tanks and healers rights? And the profession equipment?

Maybe I missed it, but don't underestimate crafting PvP gear in TWW! Buying the recipes AND crafting the items both require the crafter spending their own honor points. This now narrows down who's supplying this BoE gear by a lot!

This at face value is probably right. But you gotta factor in every cloth wearer and their mom will be tailor/enchanting.. so supply and demand factor play js

why not just recraft your tools when you can guarantee a craft?

I'm just trying to decide if my main should be Enchanter/Alchemy due to the extra gear ill get. Or if I should swap one of them for tailoring to pick up cloth just from playing to be used on another character..

quick question: going back to wow after legion. When I create new character when expansion launches I can just get: "war within" alchemy ? and lvl it from 1 to 100 ? Or I need first to lvl dragonflight alchemy, and before that whatever was before etc

To people coming from classic with no intention of raiding mythic plus, here’s some advice. Unless you get entertainment value from professions there is 0 point to having them. Can they generat gold, 100% yes. Do you need that gold to do anything in non mythic raiding? No. Professions in retail are basically pointless. Coming from an old classic andie who’s now in a top 200 mythic guild.

Parts from Engineering are not used anywhere important? Kinda sad if that true... Ill make probably 1 then so I can craft myself the mount for "free"

i am so very confused here ,why on earth making a cauldron needs artisan acuity? really why? and its 80 per potion cauldron .. weird !! is there any way to make and use 4 cauldron a day?

Yeah, I am thinking starting with herbalism while leveling combined with alchemy. I just can't decide whether or not to drop herbalism for tailoring on the main. I think with the fact that you can only drop cloth with tailoring that it might be worthwhile to go tailoring on the main since you will be regularly killing with that character. I honestly don't think I am going alt army this time. I am thinking of just doing a bit more focus on a few alts I put more effort into.

Every profession can make a lot of gold if you are good at it. I don't include fishing or cooking in this mix. I will say cooking and fishing were fantastic in the shadowlands.

Are weapons on the bis lists? I was under the impression that crafted will be a bit lower item level compared to top tier raid/vault rewards.

Resourcefulness procs on expensive mats account for allot of gold making. Some professions make a ton from resource procs alone. LW, Enchanting & Alchemy had a huge gold rush during season two of DF with procs on Cobraskin, Trophies, and Dracothyst. I made so much gold from Adaptive Dracothyst Armguard procs. Overall I would say that BS had the best long term return from procs due to alloy always being a high value seller throughout the entire expansion. What will be the high value mats in TWW?

Inscription is my favorite profession and Im going in on Darkmoon cards and Treatises, but I feel like the only reason im picking it is so i dont have to learn another profession 😅

I'm beyond annoyed that LW lost all of its weapons and toys, and feels incredibly basic and boring now. Enchanting is easy A (maybe S?) tier because this Tier list wasn't about "fun," it was about gold making and it makes far more gold than Engineering and Cooking (early enchants go for 5K-20K each). If you mention BIS weapon for BS, you need to include that for guns in Engineering, staves and off-hands for Inscription (you skipped right by this), etc. Overall, I'd say crafting in TWW feels less playful and fun than in DF. There are far fewer toys and fluff. I appreciate there being no Lariat again, but maybe they went a bit too far in taming what profession can do for S1.

With herbing and mining you are more easily going to farm the items for crafts from treasures as well
