For me your sound is rather dry not nearly as liquid as the French players always look for, nor as round and full in the low register like the British players though you can play the full range of notes quite well.

I'm grateful to have a Selmer with the F# key. It was still a bit rough getting a dependable G, at first. But the rest of the way started falling right in line with a bit of work.

This fateful morning, I took a shower and found myself humming and whistling the only take of Delta City Blues I've known for the past 20-odd years, then decided to hit up the Tubes to see if I could find a new one. Maybe even something other than a live take by The Man Himself. And holy moly did I find one! I know I'm a little late to the party here, but awesome job! It had me wondering "what madness is this?" for quite a while since it wasn't exactly what I'm used to, but you won me over by the time the rest of the band kicked in. Then you all go and change the meter to something I can't quite keep up with consciously but _love_ listening to. You guys are absolutely mad, and I love it.

Hello! what ligature are you using in this video? Looks like a vandoren M/O but is it for E flat clarinet or B flat?

I love your sound Brother Alexander. I play German system clarinet as well. I also play tenor and soprano saxophone. I use Vandoren mouthpieces exclusively. What mouthpiece are you using here? Is that the D25?

That may have been a BD5, but I'm not entirely sure :-D

Great sound! What type of ligature are you playing?
@litenalskare5 жыл бұрын
A little late, but your ligature has almost no influence over your sound. Its a fancy rubberband.
@mrsunman76345 жыл бұрын
@@litenalskare that is extremely incorrect
@fernie512964 жыл бұрын
LitenAlskare The ligature resonates along with everything else in the clarinet. Fabric ligatures dampen the overtones, and metal ones can accentuate them. It can also affect the reed’s responsiveness depending on how it holds it in combination with the mouthpiece table. Which will be either flat (like American custom mouthpieces) or concaved (like Vandoren). It’s not as influential as your concept or your reed and mouthpiece combination but it definitely affects it.

@AvHjazz6 жыл бұрын

I'm about to play Bernstein's Sonata for a regional high school competition, and I was wondering if you would have any specific kinds of reeds to suggest. I've seen some good responses to the V21s, but I'd like to get opinions from professionals before buying different reeds. I currently play on Vandoren Blue Box 3.5s/4s.

Is this a mouthpiece designed to work for both Boehm and Oehler system clarinets ?
@AvHjazz9 жыл бұрын
It was originally designed to combine Oehler system clarinets with Boehm reeds, which is what I do in the video. However, it also works well on Boehm clarinets. Some players use it to obtain a darker sound.
