I just haven't been able to get books this year what with my first dog passing a year ago this March from an undiagnosed brain tumor and aneurysm and now having a new dog a puppy I adopted her at the end of May beginning of April to take care of I just haven't gotten the time to go out and book shop lately

I love dropout too! I actually did the Kickstarter for the Um Actually game and I love playing it with my fellow nerdy friends

I still haven't continued the Ruochio series. I read Empire of Silence and it was ok for me, felt a little like a massive prologue but I really liked the alien archeology. Oh Ship of Destiny, it's so annoying that she included some elements that felt unnecessary I definitely relate to loving the beginning and then was jarred when all the sudden things happened that made me mad lol. YAY Warbreaker!!

I read four books in July, which even though it's very little, it's kind of an improvement because back in June I read two books which is very poor of me but so far so good in July - reading four books. Let's see how August goes ❤❤

Olivie Blake I’ve been noticing is very miss than a hit to a lot of people I for one am not interested in any of her books they all sound great but in execution man they sound so bad:/ she’s one of those authors that makes me question how she’s still writing bestselling books I know that’s harsh but clearly nobody is enjoying a lot of her books

oh no! TBB had another leftover sale of the goblin emperor? 😮 they had one many months ago and i remember being so devastated that it sold out while i was inputting my data and the book vanished from the basket 😥 what a great haul! all the game of thrones books look great, especially the one with the fold out map. and the cute little throne!! i was so torn about the TBB editions of malazan, all the comments about the books being confusing just make me a bit cautious. in the end, i didn’t order them. maybe i’ll give the first book a read at some point, though. i also got the blacktongue thief books and didn’t know they differ so much in tone - that’s really good to know. thanks! my tbr, you ask? one word: overwhelming! 😆 i try not to think about it too much and just read according to my mood. 🤷🏼‍♀️ the puzzle looks great! have a lovely day, kristin, and happy reading! 💜

I love Ryan Cahill's bound and broken. I have them on audio (all my reading is done with audio) I hope when the series is done Broken Binding will do a special edition. I would love to own those books

I received books on my birthday for July My favorite is The Nature of Middle-Earth I am trying to read all my books on my tbr and have cut it down by unhauling books

I will be curious what you think of the rest of Game of Thrones, I LOVE books 1-3, am lukewarm on book 4, and book 5 is not for me. And I don't know that I agree the Spellshop is "super light" on the romance, I think it depends on what you are looking for in your romance. There is chemistry and banter between what will obviously become the romantic couple but it's not in the more typical like insane lust way we see in romantasy. I LOVED the Spellshop, probably my favorite romantasy I have ever read, but if you are one who puts a big emphasis on spice then this book has none of that, but I knew as soon as I read it that people would argue about whether or not it is romantasy because there is also a significant amount of world building and plot. And you will have to let my know what happens with GotM when you get to it and if you agree it's easier getting in to knowing a lot about D and D worldbuilding

Cute top!!! I ordered a few books in July but none have arrived yet. I got Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and The Redeemer and The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo since I just finished the book that precedes them, The Redbreast (which was excellent btw)

The Goblin Emperor is for me 7✨️ out of 5. I sooo hope you like it as well.

I'm reading What the River Knows by Isabel Ibenez and it is exactly the same as what you are saying about Where the Library Hides. So I did my research and found out it is the sequel to What the River Knows (which is an excellent book)

I'm excited for the 8th volume of The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. They are a such quick and easy read, as they are graphic novels 💙💙

That Dragon Mage edition is so stunning, the hidden fore edge painting is so cool, I love that you didn't know it had that. Oof, Ship of Destiny started SO good but then some decisions were made with character motivations that really turned me off for personal reason so it would probably end up in most disappointing reads for me, but I hope you love it. Also, I feel like you have a lot of experience with Dungeons and Dragons and the clear inspirations from D and D in Malazan will be much less confusing for you or at least that is what happened for me.

yay! you finally got that UK edition of name of the wind!!! bad enough that the number of copies is often quite low, but to then additionally limit sale to one country? were they trying to give scalpers some work? 🤭 sorry to hear about the DNFs. on that note, i just recently read the lost story by meg shaffer and recommend skipping it. synopsis sounded intriguing, story started out fine and then it fell flat. i hope you’ll have no more DNFs for the rest of the year! 🤞 silverblood promise - same. i saw that endpaper and simply had to buy the book! i hope to one day pick up the first game of thrones book and actually finish it. started twice so far 🫣 i don't know why i never manage to continue and finish. i like it, loved the show, the audiobook also sounds excellent, and yet.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ same with outlander. don't even know how many times i started book one 🫣 i'm still intimidated by what i hear of malazan. not sure that i enjoy confusing. but, i guess, the only way to find out, is to try it. have a lovely day, kristin, and happy reading! 💜
