One of my favourite scenes is from the Yakuza 1974. Where Ken takakura takes on multiple Yakuza.

In Yojimbo, I always loved the last sword fight where Sanjuro spared the life of that crying boy. As he actually showed up at the beginning of the movie who wanted to join the gangsters and abandon life as a farmer. A bookend to the movie.

What; no 'Seven Samurai'? 😁 The famous duel at the end of 'Sanjuro'; the SF team somewhat overdid the pressure of the blood gush, the force of which nearly knocked the cut actor off his feet. The surprise of the onlookers was a genuine reaction, so the director Kurosawa kept it in the final cut. It's recently been discovered, on analysis that a shorter katana was used in this left hand draw scene, though there are YT videos of Iaidoka who have performed it with a standard blade, but not with an opponent!

Twilight Samurai's fight is my most memorable simply because Hiroyuki Sanada was the poor samurai who did his duty for his family and his duel was out of desperation not bravado.

Why did the Japanese lie about their swords / spears? Dragon fly landed on it, and got cut in two?? BULLSHIT! Blade cut through 6 human torsos? Bullshit! Used to kill a 'mountain witch'? BULLLSHIT! Don't get me wrong, this ISN'T in ANY way a criticism of the video!!

I don't care what the swords represented to the Japanese soldiers. They got far less for starting the war than the allies would have got for losing it had the allies lost it.

I'm impressed with the lost techniques that could make swords that cut cut through 3 dragons, 2 demons, and a boulder by just looking at them.

Japan could never repay its debt to the world, the millions that died, plunder, looting, enslavement of women and human experimentations in laboratories. Unrepentant japan honoring war criminals in shrines.

They did the same to the Philippines. It was called Pershing's sword/blade hunt when the U.S. was pacifying the Philippines. We lost our KAMPILANS, AND GINUNTINGS, AND OUR BUTTERFLY KNIVES WERE MADE WELL KNOWN!!!

When the americans bombed and destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki they also destroyed much of Japans heritage, history and legacy in the name of power and military prowess. Utter disrespect for indigenous peoples.

I wonder, will you be making videos about other lesser known Katana but owned by famous Daimyos and General who really used it for battle? For example the swords that belonged to Honda Tadataksu who owned a Masamune sword called Nakatsukasa beside his Tonbogiri spear. Meanwhile Tachibana Muneshige who owned a Kanemitsu where he used it to kill an assassin who realized he was actually cut in half after swimming to the other side of the river to escape from Tachibana. Or the pair of Muramasa sword owned by Sanada Yukimura where he was using it during Osaka doing a raid on Ieyasu camp. Also Shingen Takeda own personal sword Kai Go

Let's not forget the damn Japanese started this fight with ruthless brutality at Pearl Harbor. I have zero sympathy for lost swords or nuclear bombs dropped. If you poke the bear and then get bitten, it's your fault not the bears.

Most Westerners have an exaggerated image of ronin. 47 Ronin is a special case; Most ronin are second-born or later, and unless they are adopted by a samurai family that has no sons, or marry a daughter of a samurai family that has no sons and leave home, they must remain at home in case their first child dies. lived

Only one person in a samurai family can become an officer, and no child can become an officer until the father retires. And it's only my first child. Second and subsequent children are job seekers (ronin). Ronin ends up leading a stressful life. Some committed crimes(serial killer)

Alot of history about Tokugawa Ieyasu that tend to gloss over beside being a patient Warlord who become Shogun, was that he was actually a pretty good warrior in his younger years who had alot of written record of him fighting and surviving in battles.

One of the things that contributed to the wildness of the American Wild West was the end of the American Civil War. The Civil War flooded the country with cheap guns, and people who could not get used to peace again went west.
@sid2112
@sid2112 4 күн бұрын
That is an incredible misstatement of historical facts. The "Wild West" was nowhere near as wild as the movies made it out to be. The sensationalism of tabloids at the time did their part too. The west was a harsh life, but you had more trouble with wildlife that you did with most people. As far as the guns are concerned, they all had guns before the Civil War and continued to do so afterwards. The 2nd Amendment saw to that long before any war ever did.
