I had this Kellogg's 45. Great intro - drum pop - "Slippin' in one by one."

I just saw the movie Chicago for the first time a couple days ago, and was wondering why this song was so familiar -- never saw the musical, either. NOW I know why! This is from the Muppet Show, right? The Muppet Show, introducing us GenX kids to classics and culture and making it fun!

Listening to it now, I'm surprised at how sophistocated the music was for a kids show.

I can only imagine what the hecklers in the balcony were thinking… STATLER: well, Mr. Cooper, now that the school has been blown to pieces I gather y’all want us to vote for a bond measure to pay for a new school… WALDORF: Yup, there goes my Disney cruise!

The Banana Splits can come in different shapes, so there must have been more than one set of Banana Splits costumes. I haven’t seen that horror film about them, I hear it is not very good. The costumes used in that film look noticeably different from the costumes we see here.

80’s aesthetic today uses 80’s cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini. But it was 50’s American cars then. Looking to the past rather than the future or even the present. That’s a sign of a pessimistic cultural mindset: nostalgia

How cool would it be if we got another? Remake of the TV show the banana splits from the Reginal and I had guest stars like Miss Piggy and Kermit the frog showing up on the banana splits show when that be cool

I think the Banana Splits produced some good songs, bearing in mind they weren’t a real group. However it is clear the singing voices did not sound the same as these characters spoken voices in the show.
