This so, so poor. Although Andropov wasn’t able to implement many of his policies, you have completely failed to comment on why he was still important in the final years of the USSR. I could go on for much longer… but that was your job.

Oh shoot! I'm your 309th subscriber!! Hello fellow kids! Concerning my previous comment, scratch that man, your video is flawless! I don't say it to give encouragement only and to just keep your hopes up! I genuinely thought that given how high quality the content of your video was, you had a far bigger audience and therefore you were equally experienced on KZfaq. I've seen other small creators find their camera presence groove and connect better with a virtual audience as they go along. I'm delighted to see yours too as time goes by...

Politely and respectfully, Mr. McGee, your video was thorough and informative; although I must say you make the audience feel like elementary schoolers! I haven't read your bio but I would strongly guess you might be a teacher in secondary school. Thank you however, the meat of the matter is rich and tasty, it's just served with colorful plastic and dull cutlery! I hope I don't come across as mean, I really don't mean to, it's just that I'm a grown ass man and if someone makes me feel like a teenager, I guess I'll behave like one😅 Thanks a loads and can't wait for the follow up video...

Well, it's a well known fact that K.Marx was Jewish, as well as 90% of Bolsheviks. The remaining 10% had Jewish wives. So, I find their concept of 'no religion' kind of interesting. Also, when it comes to Russian revolution, Lenin was a German Trojan horse. They infiltrated Russia with their soldiers dressed as peasants. When the revolution happened, they were even cheering in German on square. I know that history books were written by victors, but facts are facts.

He was the first of the fifth column team in our country and gave Crimea to Ukraine as he was a Ukrainian. People didn't have enough food at that time and look at Russia now ! We are the biggest wheat exporter and are provided with everything by our own . He destroyed our agriculture and electronics and etc and etc . And we're still recovering struggling with our own elite who are ready to sell the country for a place near a western table . Thanks god this war ( and our president )made people to rise their head and get our resources and dignity back.

This is an exceptionally good video lecture. You are, Sir, a great history teacher. You students and pupils are very fortunate to have you. The individual quality of the teacher really counts. I benefited from an excellent history teacher, and it started a lifelong habit of reading a couple of histories per month. I even returned to university part-time (evenings) in my 40s to take an MA in European History whilst practising law for a living. It probably all started many years before at school. You deserve a great deal of credit for your dedication, astute analysis, and superb presentational skills.

He's almost perfectly in the middle. You can never know if a capitalist or communist will love or hate him, sadly most people seem to dislike the man but personally I think he did a good damn job. Like I said, both sides have differing opinions so he really did hit a chord

It's interesting to think about what would happen if Trotsky came to power instead of Stalin. It's hard to imagine someone who would leave Russia worse off than Stalin, but I Think Trotsky would be even worse for the nation and the world.

It is so sad children know nothing about this period of history. Awesome job on your part. No better teacher than one who teaches their subject well. The teacher then follows it up with life long lessons. I was lucky enough to a have a few like that. They are still locked in my memory today. Long time since grammar and high school, lol. An honorable man walks through life with respect following him.

lenin was not a dictator

The same guy who attempted to *choose* his successor (Trotsky, but Trotsky declined initially due to his Jewishness) and called off the Russians elections after the results came back post-tsar against the Bolsheviks wasn't a dictator? The same man who persecuted the Mensheviks and took it upon himself to make sweeping decisions based on his own views, going after those who disagreed as 'counter revolutionary', including other leftists, wasn't a dictator? He definitely was, and a cult of personality was even forming about him in his living state. Even though he completely lacked the strategic role and military role in the revolution, he was still given such credit for it and it was said that the revolution wouldn't have been possible without him (Trotsky said as much).

@@darrenj.7105 The Mensheviks were part of the white government. Also what guy? And the bolsheviks elected people democratically(azure scapegoat did a good video on soviet democracy) And yes stalin did have censorship but he made reforms industrializing the nation and helping women and minorities. And the cult of personality thing, we can’t accept that stalin was a good leader and that the people love him so we say he brainwashed his people.

Hopefully the next video will be out in two weeks, then I should be on a week by week schedule. Thank you for all the encouraging words and comments. I hope this channel helps you learn a little about history.
