i have a question as im trying to resolve my crank no start issue on a 09 528i. i have a voltmeter and am a newbie to troubleshooting my own vehicle. so are you saying for this crank no start issue that i should take a look at the fuel control module and replace it? is it possible to use a volt meter to test this and what voltage should i look for? also do i test this with a voltmeter while the battery is connected or disconnected? and where is a fuel pump relay generally located on a 528i? thx so much for your help.
@EuropeanAutoRepair3 күн бұрын
Have you already verified you are not getting any fuel pressure at the rail? Any stored faults?
@BrianaLuxx3 күн бұрын
@@EuropeanAutoRepair Oh wow! Thanks so much for the quick reply. I'm not sure how to test the fuel pressure but I believe i may need to order a gauge from the videos i have been looking at (unless their is a way to test without it)? I'm still trying to get the hang of the videos saying to use the fastec order. I just did a copy and paste of the codes i have gotten from the veepeak scanner: A559: Klemme30g_f_Abschaltung 93AB: Relay adhesive MPM relay on 951A: System undervoltage A85F: PowerOn after Kl30F shutdown 951B: System overvoltage 2DED: 0x2DED power management, closed-circuit monitoring 2DEC: 0x2DEC power management, battery monitoring 2AAE: 0x2AAE fuel pump 2ACC: 0x2ACC DME main relay, switching delay 2E8D: 0x2E8D Intelligent battery sensor, signal transmission 6294: EKP engine: current too low Long story short, it has been in a crank no start condition for the past 3 months and i am getting clarity from this scanner and trying to do what i can to figure it out. I did have to replace the battery due to battery discharge drainage indication and registered it with the veepeak scanner. i just got this vehicle last year for my birthday and i assumed it was just the battery for it not starting. it will crank but, i am still trying to watch videos to figure out how to test the fuel pump at the current moment. other than that, i got codes of misfires so changed the spark plugs gapped them at .40 and had done a smoke test (i had a p0171 and p0174) and smoke came out of the coolant radiator hose. sadly still have the p0171 and p0174 showing permanent on the car and not sure what else to look at. i should also include too that the spark plugs on 1, 2, and 3, gapped to .60 on their own after starting it repeatedly. is that normal? i wonder if me using iridium spark plugs (it says to use double platinum) also may cause it to crank and no start? sorry if it seems like a lot. im a noob and when i saw your video i instantly thought i needed to check this module too on the car. :)

@@BrianaLuxx no problem, this sounds completely bonkers but try kicking the bottom of your fuel tank on the passenger side, under where the back seat is located while someone else is cranking the engine over inside, it sounds like you may have a failed fuel pump

The ecm had shut down the starter and the fuel delivery. Those were the only codes. Reset them by unplugging the high pressure pump. It then started although very rough at idle. The cel came on after the epc light flashed on and off. The code was misfire for #3 cylinder. Replaced the ignition coil and now running smooth. @EuropeanAutoRepair Simple and to the point. 👍👍 I doubt it but are greasable links any better than the regular ones? I don't get how greasing them will save them from getting all spongy and useless. 🤔 I've change links plenty of times...never came across one that leaked, they just lose stiffness and start knocking. Can you recommend any brands that are known to be durable yet affordable?

Hi. I have audi a6 2.0 tfsi CAED quattro. Idle is a bit rough sometimes, especcialy in colder weather. Also every time i come to a stop the revs drop to 650-700 for a splitsecond and then immediatly back up to 780-800. Car shakes for a second and it feels like its about to stall. I have changed the chain, injectors, coils, spark plugs, pvc valve. I have looked pretty much everywhere. Also checked for air leak by smoke generator. The fault i am getting is too lean at idle bank 1 and check engine light every so often. Any idea what it could be?

if it were a tire, what could be wrong with a tire that would make a similar noise as bad bearings ? in this hypothetical the tires have good tread.

The tread can become choppy due to alignment issues or problems with suspension components or you could have a internal belt shift inside the tire

in canada we have aq class action lawsuit for these water pumps. my mk7.5 gti failed at (60k Miles) or 100k Killometers) and I got a free replacement. luckily I only have a inlet pipe and airbox upgrade and resonator delete so they weren't fussy about it. once your tuned your screwed tho for this. same thing on my buddies R stage 2 and they deemed the water pump went because of the tuning. I think its total bs but dealerships usually like to wash their hands of this stuff. OEM water pump thermostat assembly is utter garbage, ill be upgrading to the upgraded turbine and T flange that are billet vs crap abs platics.
