So.... after re watching this... a possible 12 or 18 times.... i think i found them. Toy soldiers: (shows up 3 times) 2:01, 1:44, (i think the third time is at 2:50) toy soldier (desk and shelf) 3:06 davie flowers (this one was harder to find. I had scouted the room so many times, and honestly never saw the flower vace until my... 6th time watching? Then at like my 10th time watching it, taking a detail-oriented look at everything, i freaking finaly made the connection of heartbreak. Those are freaking Davies flowers) 3:39 formal wear (im pretty sure im wrong with this one... but in the closet... hanging up, is that the tux that England gave America from when America was cleaning out his storage room??? You did say it was in the closet...)

This is beautiful! Historical Hetalia is of course always a win for me and I love that the Hetalia gals get a spotlight in a series and fandom dominated by pretty anime boys. I've long thought about how a female nation would be treated differently as a personification in history. You did a really well in showing a variety of experiences and matching them up with the lyrics. Wonderful work! <3

Thank you so much! It was a fun challenge trying to figure out who would match best with each lyric. Some were obvious (like Hungary and Czechia, since they canonically have boyfriends) but some I really had to scratch my noggin for. Thanks for watching!

Gorgeous! I love how you show the varied experiences of the hetalia girls. I liked that you both showed the manipulation of women by the system and by men, but also didn't overstaturated the video with a simple man do bad to woman, for lack of better words. I know its a weird conpilment but all the pain was less obvious, and more sutle. Like with Hungary, were her more "masc" traits were more hidden during her marrige (and you didnt demonize Austria ethier which is a win in my book). It would have been so easy to go that they were physically abused, but all the depictions were true to history and their character. I also never realized that nations of a history of "subservance" were female. It really changes alot of the choices made in casting, since me and a friend always found it strange how nations refered to as female (ie mother land) were male. Imagine an AU were this rule was applied to other countries, that would be so fun to explore. However, ill like to note its better to be more spefic to your content warnings, since historical events can be a bit vague. The goal is to warn your audience about what may be triggering. Also some events, like the war of Ukraine (which may have been referenced at the end but i may be wrong) are not yet historic. I think in the future stating which events you may be referencing instead would be better. This isnt to be rude I just thought it was important to bring up. Sorry for the long post but I really enjoyed this video.

Thank you so much for the long, detailed comment! It really lets me know you thoroughly watched the video - and enjoyed it! I totally understand your comment about the more specific trigger warnings. In my defense, I did have a way more thorough explanation of all the historical events referenced in the description box, but it ended up being too long to post here, and I meant to make a separate tumblr post that linked to it, but didn’t get around to it yet. I’ll go ahead and post that and link it here in the description, but thank you for the note! I was referencing a couple of things with Ukraine (Chernobyl, and the present war happening right now) but tried to keep everything very subtle and not too triggering. I will update the description with a more accurate trigger warning. Thanks as always! Edit to add: thank you for noticing the gender roles here. I didn’t want to imply “ew, all men bad”, as I imagine a lot of the guys were just as much of “victims” as the women.
