Thoroughly enjoyed watching this, engine running really nice and scale speed. I am justing starting in 16mm and am seriously looking at making the Dave Watkins Idris as my first loco. I've had a feeling that it would benefit from 2:1 gearing so was really interested to see that yours is geared down. I'd be really interested to know what gearing you have used as yours is running spot on.

What a beautiful loco and railway. I can't quite place the loco though. Would you mind sharing the make of the loco?

Many thanks for your kind comments. The loco is home built but based upon ' Idris' by Dave Watkins. Drawings are available on the website of the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers. Mine has a different geared steam motor and is fired by gas with a ceramic burner. I am very pleased with performance, the gas lasting about 20 mins however due to the very small size of the boiler it does need topping up about every 5 mins with water.

Are plans available for the coaches?

Some of the coaches were built from kits and others scratch built. All are running on homemade compensated running gear. I regret I don't have any plans.
