For anyone who tries this , remember you will probably have to slightly change the ball position . The club head will come around quicker . Move the ball a half to a whole ball back and it should straighten out the aim. The snap adds about 30 to 50 yards to the drive and irons.

@@JonathanTaylor63 thanks so much Jonathan. I held onto the club so tight that my forearms were always aching! Your videos on releasing the club are a game changer for me! I also had a habit unknown to me that I got grip handle ahead of ball at impact resulting in club face wide open. Should I be concentrating on getting grip level with ball at impact or will proper release look after that?

Thank you for this. This is where I'm at in my golf game. Been playing a year and I'm thoroughly despondent that nothing I am doing is working and showing definitive improvement. I do fall apart after my first bad shot because I can't mentally handle the failure of it. It's an internal thing and maybe golf may not be for me. Thank you for the video

Think Monte no turn cast drill, casting works, all that hold the angle, lag, turn, rotate has destroyed more golfers games than it helped.

Wow. This resonates with me so much and with where I am currently in my progression of learning the golf swing. Literally just started implementing a “pushing down” with trail hand feel

Jonathan I consider you as a brilliant mind to teach and explain the golf swing, I love watching and listening to you teach, I've been out of the game for a bit with a few injuries, so I'm back looking for the right way to use the body with the least amount of effort, I bought a product many years ago called the Pro, it's a guy in the states who has turned my thinking around about how the swing works for effortless power, it's absolutely amazing, anyway 2 points he's made and I'm sure you've touch on it because your mind works like the Pro , but it was about hand and wrist pressure and how the eyes dominate the swing, I've taking the ball completely out of the equation, my eyes are focused on an imaginary ball a club lenth behind the actual ball position, and it has blown me away how my eyes completely took my brain over and made me do all kinds of things that destroyed the natural flow of a golf swing. sorry tmi, but I wanted to get that out there and how's it changed my game because I was over the top with so much compensation that caused many injuries to the point that I couldn't play anymore. Thank you, Jonathan. absolutely love your teachings,

You seem to advocate wrist extension and flexion which is the bane of most golfers with their dreaded flipping action. The old timers, Hogan etc never used extension and flexion. Homer Kelley in his book The Golfing Machine concluded after much study that wrist extension and flexion is a golf swing killer and should not be taught. So there you have it. Left wrist extension at the end of the swing is fine as part of the finish but not beforehand, anyhow your video hasn’t really clarified the issue at all but thanks for making the effort

Jonathan. Could the absence of pressing down on the trail toe cause a cupped hand action, trying to contact the ball from the back foot?

Can you say to yourself pull push when taking the putter back and pull push on the forward swing would that be a good idea or not
@JonathanTaylor63
@JonathanTaylor63 Ай бұрын
Yep,that would work. The trick is the angle of force which is not to the target but up and down the shaft.

Is it pull back with your trail arm and pull forward with your lead hand or do you apply pull with the trail arm while pushing with the lead arm and vice versa
@JonathanTaylor63
@JonathanTaylor63 Ай бұрын
Always opposites, in the backswing pull up with the trail arm and push down with the lead arm. Downswing, pull up with the lead arm and push down with the trail arm. But in the downswing, wait until the 7 o’clock position before doing this.

Great video! To elaborate. My one swing thought I do a clockwise baton twirling of my club using both hands and wrist at the top of my backswing. Combined with my trail side scapula pulling towards my spine for my backswing followed by my lead side scapula pulling towards my spine for my downswing; at age 77 I am loving my golf. Cheers 😊🥂👍

Im considered a good putter especially long putts on flat greens, i use similar technique as ive always thought putting as a mini version of fullswing! i push down then pullup with right side then push down pull up with left, arms softly resisting both ways looks bs now ive written it down but works for me!

Brilliant, Johnathan thank you, sometimes I don't get a chance to practice or play on a course, so when I have a chunk of time away from golf, of course, I'm always in a rush with everything in life lol, I'm from New York, enough said. after a range session without stretching or warmup, the next couple of days after practice my right bicep, my lower right forearm is so sore I can barely straighten it, this video was such an eye opener for me, I'm so right arm dominant its insane, i always think my body will figure the right movement out because I'm a pretty decent Athlete, but to see this video and how the lead arm works was absolutely incredible for me, I jump up and practice what you showed us to do, and what a differnt feeling , I'm blown away, cant wait to practice and put it to work . thank you again. This video is a year old, but things come into our lives when it's time for me to learn that , we can never control the outcome, just the effort.

I hit my driver well when I take the club head back further than my irons and I address the ball toe up with driver. I hit my irons well and dead on the green because I utilize a more compact swing(tend to have more control) and have enough power.
