My theory: For stalking his ex to her residence, he is jacked into a car and dumped on the street in the beginning of the video. But he stands up and journeys back to where he was bundled up from. On his way, he sees her, but it’s all in his head. He stops and watches. His four previous exes appear and the focus on his face wanes because he’s not interested in them, causing him to look away. The illusion of his lover fades and he continues to journey. But why the man in the wheelchair? Majeeed is not handicapped but he looks more troubled than the man in a wheelchair, projecting how broken he is. In fact, the man looks more optimistic and emboldened in his condition than Majeeed, an agile young man. He continues his journey and it takes him the whole day to reach there. It shows how distant his starting point was from where his lover lives. But he doesn’t mind using the whole day to walk back there. It is impressive how love leads him back there even when he didn’t know the route as he was in the boot of the car. Closing in on his destination, his four previous exes appear again, like an obstacle. Remember he said: ‘I never love anybody de way I take love you’, which means there were others before his last love. So these girls all look the same: same jewellery (necklace and earrings), same type and number of waist beads, same hair, same clothes. Only his lover is different. Towards the end of the music video, they approach him and he stops for a moment, hoping that his lover will appear. Since his exes appeared alongside his lover at the beginning of the video, he hopes that his lover will appear alongside his exes at the end. She doesn’t appear and he walks past his previous exes as though they don’t exist - if she ain’t the one, she ain’t the one. So he passes and the exes dance and turn towards his direction. They don’t stop dancing but only turn towards him because he might want to come back after giving up on his lover. Most times, your exes are always there, lurking to have you back or destroy the future you want to forge. He gets to her residence and sees the silhouettes of his lover and her newfound love. The video ends with him shaking his head. Perhaps, he’ll return to make his choice from his pool of exes or walk into solitude.
