It is a pretty common symbol, just means that whatever wifi network you are connected to does not have access to the internet. It might be because you are behind an authentication portal or maybe the networks internet provider was down. If this ever happens again alt-option click on the symbol to get the specific detail on what network you are connecting to. You might need to connect to another network or hotspot.

My Grandad was a Luftwaffe soldier from the 60's-80's and just managed to see the start of the Tornados service. Still loves the plane!

That symbol usually means that you have connected to the wifi but the laptop thinks the wifi isn't connected to the internet. Unhelpfully, it can mean either the laptop or the wifi has a problem!

Whenever I'm covering a sport activity, I always upload them when I get back home. Everyone tends to be waiting for them to be uploaded when they get home too. This way I don't have to worry about the wifi signal. Worse case scenario, I use mobile hotspot if it is only temporary...

Always one game that is a head wrecker for whatever reason. You got good shots

Now covering Bashley Fc in Non League step 4 or football step 8. County cup game against Yateley Utd step 6 or 10, I sent pictures off after the game from the car, and I now carry a spare charger and a 12 volt to 230 volt inverter incase my laptop goes flat in the car. I just leave the engine running to boost the car battery, just in case. Inverter goes well plugging in accessory socket. After leaving the ground, M3 motorway junction closed, then followed signage, and later sat nav only to find more junctions closed. In the end I did an extra 25 mile detour to get home thanks to highways not cutting foliage around road signs, but got home 1 hour later than planned at 1am. Bashley won 0-3 away and a fair win.

Hi Mark the symbol indicates that you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network but you don’t have access to the Internet, and that could be for different reasons: bad configuration on your side (no dhcp enabled) or from the router network side. If your WiFi card configuration was as usual (I assume dhcp) I bet it was an issue from the stadium network… hope it helps greetings from Rome, Italy

I always have a cabled 5G solution with me if there are Wifi issues (or private WiFi not allowed, like at Paris 2024).
