LOL at your snark against Boomers. Boomers, you know, the people who ACTUALLY MARCHED FOR CIVIL RIGHTS. Good lord. Also it's interesting you missed their "Double Sided Leather Medicine Pouch Bag with Hand Beaded Whirling Log and American Flag" for $350 which is a literal swastika. Considering the Rich White Lady market they're going for that's a little creepy. Then again, those are the women marching for Palestine these days so it all comes together in an ugly little bow.

I’m a regular locking 64 year old. I find it fun to add accessories that are not that noticeable. Like a black tote, that has embossed skulls on it. Or cute little earrings that are coiled snakes.

Love or hate MP...she definately "made it" to the big time. Although there is no way I'd pay those prices, I do admire her creations & artistic abilit to make it all come together. Everyone now a days gets so offended. I do understand the Native issue... But i am almost 69 yo. Grew up on TV westerns. As an adult & could do my own research, I feel like my whole "private" school education was one big fat LIE. If I ever wore anything with a Native image it is because of my admiration of them!!! Just like I'd wear clothing with black movers & shakers. That is saying a lot coming from a southern born woman...who remembers the gross mistreatment of them as well. I dig her clothing & because of this video, I feel like I understand it all better. AND because of how you presented the content, I am now a subscriber!!!! THANK YOU!!

Ok so I want to make this a well known fact many celebrities pretend to be poor or come from these type of backgrounds. Even Angelina Jolie, her real last name is Voight like her dad is John voight so yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if she made up the rags to riches story. The real story for sure is Eminem who def came from the trailer park.

I love your outfits, but I'd like to see some whimsigoth ones strictly with pants or leggings, since I don't really wear skirts but I've started wearing more dresses. And that purple tone in your hair looks awesome, I feel like it ties everything together, somehow! 😍

I laughed so hard, i actually spat out my mango juice when you said "why does this woman look like she feeds pigeons or sweeps chimneys" That was hilarious 😂 I grew up poor, lived in 14 homes, was homeless at 16, battled addiction, still struggle now, but I'm grateful for having government assisted housing. I don't care if these people want to pay/waste thousands to look like the crazy cat lady that got dressed upside down, in the dark. I just want to add i am a crazy cat lady, myself. But, this seems extremely scammy to me and thank you for mentioning how charities are just tax right offs for the business and a way for people purchasing to feel like they've "contributed/helped" those their exploiting. I do think that if she paid native Americans for their work ethically, and worked with them, then OK, maybe. But, technically it ain't her culture to celebrate and profit off and it ain't my culture to talk on. Although the more I watch, the more distasteful I think it is. Also, i never finished high school, I dropped out at 14 and I'm from the UK, but even I know about all the atrocities that happened to native Americans. This is typical upper class boho chic, it's been a thing for years and is usually unethical, over priced stuff that i could make myself for a fraction of the cost.

Each to their own in terms of taste. To me this clothing is hideous. My issue is that it is poorly designed and made, then styled to hide that fact. And then priced as if it is well designed and made. Seems cynical

20:45 I try to not buy things that come distressed. I buy what I can and I want things to last a while and I do it this way cuz I will wear things until they’re falling apart. And then I’ll try repairing it, DIYing it, or scrapping it and using the fabric. Part of it is a money thing, part of it is… why not fix it?!

11:51 so for pricing I think we need to ask some questions: 1) is it made from high quality materials and techniques? 2) are the people making it being paid fair wages or at least a livable wage? 3) are the materials ethically sourced? 4) is the company trying to be environmentally friendly? If 1-3 are yes (4 being yes is highly preferred as well) then the price is more than likely justified. If even 2 is a no then the price isn’t justifiable.

1:19 food stamps have never covered alcohol or cigarettes. Back in the 70s and 80s they were like these vouchers and if your food was less than the value of the voucher you’d get the change back in cash. You could save up that change and then use it to buy things not covered by food stamps. But you couldn’t use food stamps themselves.

I see nothing wrong with the images of people. Seeing Mother Teresa, or Jesus would be cool.....you don't need to represent more white people. They are already represented enough.

Sure you can. You sell your benefits to a friend for cash & THEN go to the liquor store. I've know several single mom's who sold the food stamps to buy other things.

@@tuesdayschild7899 right, but that means you first have to sell your food stamps. You could use your food stamps to buy pot or drugs from an individual but, the liquor or grocery store will not accept your food stamps.

I have one more thing to add: there is a really nice youtube content provider lady who shows how to make cool clothes and accessories and she demonstrated how to make a pair of jeans that looked like (similar vibe really not identical) a pair of magnolia pearl jeans that go for 600.00, the super cute pair that even caught me eye and I don't wear jeans. anyway apparently magnolia pearl heard about it and she got in a wee bit of trouble and had to take the video down, that seems super petty to me as magnolia pearl makes good money and her video wasn't going to hurt their bottom line. so yeah screw magnolia pearl.
@carissafisher7514

Yeah, I warned her....I didn't think she was allowed to copy their ideas It was pretty much just like the flowered jeans, in the example. That's how I first heard of the brand.

a lot of people have had horrific childhoods, mine rivals the magnolia pearl woman's and I am not just saying that for effect, my entire life has been a struggle because of how I was raised and I use the term raised very loosely. I really wish you had not gone into so much detail concerning her childhood trauma it made it very hard for me to watch this video and I had to do it a bit at a time. I don't understand what the point was really, I can relate and feel for the woman, I can imagine it really well actually, we were born the same year in fact 1963, but that does not excuse what is wrong with the magnolia pearl brand by any means and the prices are so ridiculous they anger me. this whole video is rather disturbing to be honest.

I've been to the store in Texas. The people who worked there were so rude. It's a very uppity town. It's also my understanding she has stolen a few ideas of local artists. I'm an artist from way back in the last 1980's and her style is what we pieced together, just more Shabby Chic. It's the starving artist aesthetic and these are the same people who balk at paying $800 for my own work. Yeah. I pay $150 for my entire wardrobe for a year. And your hair is cute! <3 If anyone wants to come to my studio, we can throw some clay or paint, just wear your jeans, and I only charge $85 for use of my studio and you will get a free makeover for your jeans. :)
