I'll give Divine Rivals another chance, but yeah, I'm not super into it at this point. I think you're right that it's hard to go into that kind of book with no expectations when so many people love it, yet those expectations end up disappointing you 😭Thanks for sharing!

I am going to pick one of your 2✨️ books because I like the cover😆 And see what I think about it. Why? As a test. You see, I read a duology that EVERYBODY is recommending and was so dissapointed that I now have the phisical copy of it 😮💨 [no, it is not a 1star bu it is 2,5 for me as parts are good but don't save the book for me]
@alireadstoomuch98294 ай бұрын
Oh i neeeeed to know the title of that duology
@miyayume_eclectic_dream4 ай бұрын
@@alireadstoomuch9829Fast paced start, good fear of water and drowning, ending with OP like character are fun part. The romance is no whete to be found, the side characters are just tools, and everybody say it is Enemies to Lovers....where is that part, I have not found it? If you want to jump than go strait to ch 25. Duologie is called The Bridge Kingdom...😮💨 it is getting even less point the more time goes by.

So what was the red book series? I didn't hear you say, I couldn't see the title and didn't see it listed in your more or transcript. So, what was it? I recommend your say the title when you bring in the book and again when you lay it down. Thank you.

It's so nice to find other people who disliked divine rivals!
@NorelleLee86 ай бұрын
Finally someone who also did not like Divine rivals :D. It was such a disappointment. It sounded so interesting: magical typewritters, war, Gods... and it turned out so boring, bad and mainly focused on plain mehh characters and their boring instalovestory. Where was that enemies to lovers part (i too saw this labeled as enemies to lovers)? Those few, boring pages at the begininng where they barely talked to each other but we had to read how one is poor and one is rich was the big enemies thing? It's laughable. Both characters felt 15 years old and their instalove was based on nothing. Few so called letters that could have been post it notes for all i care. Ross did not even properly write about those typewritters. There was something about who made them but no explanation about magic and why they worked the way they worked. And as you said - they were used few times and then just... were there. This book was so disappointing because that story had potential to be so great. But instead it was just another teen instalove, just in fantasy setting with...some God's war in the background.

My thoughts exactly!!! And why couldn't this be a ya novel when the author made the characers mentally 15???

I just finished Morning Star in the red rising series. I think it was my least favorite read of the year lol. Should I continue on to the second trilogy?
@alireadstoomuch98296 ай бұрын
Ouch ahaha. To be fair, the second trilogy is more mature, more about war and has various povs, but if you didn't like Morning Star, I wouldn't continue. If you want something with the same vibes but different try Empire of Silence :)

The other two books in the fine print series are guilty pleasures for me but the one you spoke about did rub me the wrong way a little. I didn’t see enough redeeming qualities in the male love interest to understand why the heck she would go for him and give him chance after chance to be a nice person. Like I prefer a love interest that is somewhat of an okay empathetic person… or else why do I like them.
